The best thing that happened after Chinese aggression is that our government now is clear about Chinese intension and now there is no confusion that China is our enemy. Otherwise our foreign policy was so confusing when it comes to China despite of China's continuous support to pakistan and Chinese claim of our 3 states.

Chinese imports have gone up by 45%

    • @abhimanyadav1037
      @abhimanyadav1037 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

@@fuzzyblue74 There are several reasons for that
      1. Import of api for medicines has increased
      2. Import of oxygen concentration
      3. Instead of supporting boycott China as much as possible (I know complete boycott is not possible for now), our own people opposed it.
      4. Government can't ban Chinese products without proper reason as India has to follow WTO rules.
But that's not the complete picture , we have got success in some areas like
      1. Software Boycott is successful
      2. Most of the Chinese investment in Indian startup has been stopped
(Remember it happened because of the efforts of the government , without any public support )
Now on next phase I hope make in India program will be a success and we will be able to replace made in china not only here in India but also across the world. I know it might take min 5-10 years but I am still hopeful that after success of software Boycott we will become successful in hardware boycott.

I just cannot understand the negatives. So the Chinese attacked because Shah said we would take back Aksai Chin. Then why does China have border disputes with all its neighbors (plus a few non-neighbors)? Not all countries have provoked the dragon. China is an expansionist force and its aim is to dominate everyone.
Also, I am shocked to see Shekarji forgetting the context of the remake made by HM Shah. What else was he supposed to say on the well of the house when directly questioned about it? Does he want an Indian home minister to concede territory?
And how are Kashmiri people not responsible for their own fate? They have consistently received 10% of central funds with just 1% of the population. It was a conflict economy. It is by far the most communal state in the country with ethnic cleansing going back multiple decades. Which businessman will invest within 3 years of removing 370 in such a hell hole? It is a long process. But a process absolutely in the right direction.

    • @mohsindalvi87

From our perspective, we (and all it's terrestrial and maritime neighbours) see china as expansionist. Rotate the map and see from china's persoective, and u will understand why it says it is recreating akhand china.
The negatives r clear to left-of-centre ppl. There is no leadership that listens to locals, hence deprived/enraged ppl r easy to be waylaid by isi.

Well said. Shekhar is a secularist of the appeasement type. You can see his dislike for Modi, just like most mainstream media persons. The SIT created by the Supreme Court declared Modi to be innocent of all the charges or accusations levied on him for the Godhra riots, but Shekar way back had already found Modi guilty which is evident from his reporting and writings if you go back and look.
So, the Congress, secular parties, and the divisive administrations in J&K got 70+ years to mess up things in J&K, and like you said, they expect miracles from this government in 3 years! "Analysts" like Shekar expect perfection from the current government, but are able to forgive all the corruption, mismanagement and divisiveness that the Congress propagated and kept supporting and alive in J&K for 70 years. It takes time to change a rotten house, you have to rebuild the house from the foundation up, while living in the house. It's not an easy task by any stretch of imagination ... visit it in another 10-15 years, and we'll see that the change that started on Aug 5, 2019 will bring fruits for India and for all the residents of J&K.

Economic situation is improving and lot of Indian tourists are visiting some even opening small businesses. 1. The 3 average rating which Shekhar is talking about are work in progress. Elections will be held soon, as the work of Delimitation Commission is completed. As regards mainstream parties, these continue to be active and talk in forked tongue all the time. 2. Shekhar seems to suggest that there are only two choices for the young, internet savvy, smart Kashmiri youth- Govt of India is not giving them enough job opportunities so either complain or join the terrorism! No one stopped Kashmiri youth from going out and finding jobs anywhere in India, just like any one from UP or Bihar or Haryana or North East does. As industry starts in Kashmir, tourism revives, various infrastructure and developmental programs get going, youth will find jobs locally. 3. That Kashmir is still not considered safe is a fact and if one wants to blame Modi Govt for this, please do so! 4. Chinese incursions in Ladakh is the issue arising probably out of Art 370 revocation. But whatever happened there, India has emerged stronger and better prepared to take on the Chinese. Armed Forces would treat this as a blessing in disguise and history will record this as a grave mistake by Xi Jin Ping, as it changed India's Defense Policy, China became formal Enemy No 1, Pakistan got sidelined, Quad is formalized and push for 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' would make India a formidable power. 5. So overall, Aug 2019 is a watershed for J&K; a lot is now a history but new challenges have emerged. And India is dealing with them. But until Pakistan exists, Kashmir problem (terrorism, militancy, etc) will not be over. So forget this non sense of giving scores to Modi! What Modi did was a long overdue action from say, 1970s. Let us deal with the consequences as we move ahead.

In April 2017, General Bipin Rawat the Chief of Army Staff infamously defended Major Leetul Gogoi for tying Farooq Ahmed Dar, a young Kashmiri craftsman, to his jeep bonnet and using him as a human shield to drive through a hostile patch. Later, the army formally commended Gogoi for his widely condemned rights violation against an unarmed civilian.
This became standard operating practice as the indian army seemingly went rogue and was roundly condemned by the UN.
Both the United Nations and the International Criminal Court consider the way civilians said they were used by the Indian army to search houses in south Kashmir to be illegal under international law, experts said.
Many residents of Pinglan village in south Kashmir told Reuters they were used as shields for soldiers as they searched for militants during a crackdown in February.
The UN's Geneva Convention states that "the presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations"
"Actions which deliberately endanger the life of ordinary persons - for example, by using them as 'human shields' - can amount to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment under international human rights law."
But India denies that the Geneva Convention, designed for international conflicts, applies to its operations in Indian-controlled Kashmir, and it is one of the few major countries not party to the Rome Statute.

    1) The communal division between Jammu and Kashmir was not sowed in the last 3 years. It has been there since at least 1947. This is a basic historical fact
2)There is a crackdown on the terrorist sympathisers and supporters, and there is little justification to demand to stop the crackdown. If anything, the govt is too lax right now and should do more to tackle this fifth column
3)alienation of youth: there is literally nothing to suggest that this has gotten worse. If anything, the recruitment of youth into militancy is only steadily declining
4)China: revocation of 370 could def be one of the factors that led to the chinese aggression. But it's far from the only one. The border roads being built and India's increasing closeness to QUAD are also important factors

The fear and view that by making Ladakh a UT we have invited china to take extreme steps of creating a firewall and compelling us to respond otherwise china would have slept happily is not convincing. Cussed in your assessment of the initiative of bringing fundamental changes in #Kashmir 3 years back. Why play up the Chinese reactions on LAC and attribute to this as a downside. No way, it's good that realities were understood by all. Biggest benefit has been that our western neighbour can not manipulate us on "K" any longer and the world is not interested. This has been a major gain others will take a little more time.
