Srinagar, 31 December: The Sheep Husbandry Department of Karnah held a significant "One-Day Awareness Program" for progressive sheep breeders from the Tangdhar and Teethwal blocks under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). The initiative aimed to educate farmers about advanced sheep farming techniques and make them aware of government schemes designed to support their livelihoods.
The program, presided over by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Mr. Zaffar Ahmad Lone (JKAS), and Sheep Development Officer, Dr. Faisal Hassan Dedmari, emphasized adopting scientific approaches to sheep rearing. In his address, SDM Karnah stressed the role of modern methods in enhancing livestock productivity and boosting the socio-economic status of local farmers.
Key Highlights Of The Program
Distribution Of Resources: Complimentary veterinary medicines and seed kits were distributed to the participants, supporting their sheep farming endeavors.
Recognition Of Excellence: Top-performing sheep breeders from the region were awarded for their outstanding contributions, inspiring others to strive for excellence in the field.

● Dr. Henan Mirchal, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Tangdhar, discussed the benefits of scientific breeding practices.
● Dr. Mehraj-Ud-Din Bhat, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Teethwal, provided insights into disease prevention and effective livestock management.
Focus On Collaborative Growth:
The event concluded with an interactive session, offering breeders a platform to share their experiences, challenges, and feedback. This collaborative dialogue encouraged the exchange of ideas for improving sheep farming practices in the region.
