Gosh, this is weird! I remember this mall when it first opened! It was state-of-the-art, glimmering and brand-spanking new with Talhimers and Miller & Rhoads...everyone abandoned Pittman Plaza in droves for River Ridge. I moved to the UK when I was a young teenager, so for me, this mall is still brand new! It was a vibrant place packed with people back then; beautiful Christmas displays (which I have pictures of)...we even did a small performance there (A Touch of Glass) for Christmas. It's so sad to see it like this but it seems to be a common theme now. Thanks so much for the tour...:)

Nemie125 do you have pictures of when they still had the singing bear family? I know this is a strange question but I’d love to be able to find pictures of when they still had the set up of Santa’s work shop with the train. They’ve long since removed those pieces of the holiday decorations but I’d love to be able to show my children how it looked before.

Interesting facility. It's my hope that the current owners stay up on its maintenance and upkeep, as it would be a shame to see this piece of Americana fall into a state of irreversible detritus. Thoroughly enjoyed this, Andrew. Just now seeing it as I haven't been getting your videos in my subscription feed for several weeks now, and it's getting pretty irritating.

I live and grew up just down the road from this mall. I remember the restaurant but never got a chance to go. I also remember the old Montgomery wards then they changed it to JC Penny's. Also they had a Sears attached to it as well. Now its alot smaller but liberty is planning to open up more stores in the mall.

Sad that this store closed, and what will happen to the elevators and escalators? While the Lexan elevator was very nice, the escalators sure had interesting sounding motors, even though they're Otis. As with those people who discouraged photography, I think this is because of the typical post-9/11 era security paranoia, since it still has that Orwellian Big Brother perception, not to mention all of the brutal mayhem and attacks carried out by those ISIS terrorists over the past year and a half.
