S16 Ep4 One Person, Two Open Adoption Perspectives

On this episode of AFTHtv, we are joined by Becca and Preston. Becca’s connection to adoption started almost 15 years before they were placed with their son through AFTH. Becca is also a birth mother. It was her own experience placing her daughter through open adoption that led her and her husband Preston to decide that open adoption was the only way forward when they began their own journey as prospective adoptive parents. Preston shares the initial worries and hesitations he had about open adoption as is common among prospective adoptive parents. However, in the end, the benefits of open adoption for their son as far outweighed any concerns and they encourage other adoptive parents to not let initial hesitations hold them back.
