      1984 BBQ Thanks John! I have only had lamb a few times myself, but this turned out great! A couple of your cookers would do a nice job with this!

    I cook a fair amount of legs of lamb and I'll give you something that will change the game... ROSEMARY. Also for lamb I stray away from BBQ seasonings and do more traditional savory seasoning with salt and rosemary being the primary seasoning leaders.

      SDSBBQ Thanks Dash! That sounds like a great idea. I do want to do one on my Kamado Joe rotisserie and will use your advice with the rosemary!

      SDSBBQ Hey Dash, just did 2 legs of Lamb on my Kamado Joe Big Joe rotisserie, seasoned with rosemary like you suggested and it turned out great. I did dry brine for about 8 hours and then added the rosemary, pepper and garlic before going on the grill. The rotisserie gives it such a good flavor. Thanks again for the tip! I expect to see you do a leg of lamb on the Weber rotisserie! LOL

      @@beers-jackofbbq I see what you did there... LOL I haven't been to the market yet today and might be able to make it happen.

    Hey Craig and Jack. I've never been a fan of lamb, probably because we didn't grow up eating it. No one I know in family ever ate it. Lamb just wasn't served much in our little town in SC. So I have a beef taster. I've tried lamb chops once and got them down. However, what you just cooked on the roty looks delicious. It's been 30 years since I've at the chops, so I should try it again. Nice job bud.

      Phil N Florence Thanks Phil! Yes, I was the same way, we never had lamb as well and my first experience was not the best. These legs were from Costco and were mild in flavor for lamb. Beef is my favorite as well. I will try this one on my Kamado joe rotisserie to see how the flavor is over the fire!

    Never had lamb on the grill. Looked excellent. Don't forget the mint sauce or jelly.

    Thanks for this video. I have a gas grill with the rotisserie. What was the ambient temp? I can shoot for that while cooking.

      Since this was heated with infrared on the back of the grill not completely sure. But if I were doing with direct heat from underneath, would try to keep the grill at 250F to 300F. Cheers!

    What temp was the grill at?

    • @beers-jackofbbq
      @beers-jackofbbq  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lou Visconti Since Jack’s grill has an infrared burner on the back of his grill, it is hard to say a temp. The infrared was on high the entire cook. According to the probe, the grill temp was about 300 degrees. Hope that helps!

    • @oldmate9561
      @oldmate9561 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got a matador barbie with the infrared thing it only gets to about 200 degrees unless I put one of the other burners from the bottom outside on.... which I usually do anyways to put the smoke box with wood chips in it smokin

    • @beers-jackofbbq
      @beers-jackofbbq  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oldmate9561 This probe was right near the infrared, probably why we got a higher reading. I bet yours gets great with the extra smoke! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
