Thanks but still the flip is not clear the updated one is it wrist elbow for short and wrist elbow with more swing for long or shoulder included as in the second type . I am confused.
To make it more simple, there are two types of backhand the older version used before 2010 that was more pivot from the elbow oriented and the new one that includes more wrist like a backhand banana flip it’s quicker and more in front of the body. If you want to start to include a backhand flip into your game I think it’s easier to use a banana type flip “like” technique for short and long balls the stroke just gets a little longer and uses the space under the table when the ball is longer maybe uses slightly less wrist and more elbow but still “feels” the same. For player references look at Samsonov technique for backhand loops he uses the older version less wristy and Fan who uses a more backhand flip like technique for pretty much all backhand shots. Samsonov flips with the backhand but it’s rarely against serves that are underspin mostly when the opponent serves side top spin where fan can flip any ball because his technique is fluid through the distances. Hope this helps, it’s less a technical video about backhand flip and more a “philosophical” idea that can help if you have a backhand flip and want to start including it more in your game. I’ve made videos about the backhand flip and bh loop if you want to learn more

Seth, your block is so much better in this game!!! A lot more aggressive blocking close to the table. Can i make a fan request. In future videos, would you be able to have a small section in the video , where you analyze 30seconds of it in slow motion. Within it you describe, the opponents serve, weaknesses, minute detailed errors, improvements, poor/good choice of serves, precise strategy, like second by second, rather than a global general strategy. i.e. I can't see precisely where this opponents weaknesses is. I really enjoyed watching you play after having watched so many of your training videos, which are all very well thought out! Speaking as a left hander, I can assure you that there is no benefit in using your backhand to attack hard down the line. A better option is to hit a high top spin cross court giving us an option to go down the line or back to you forehand. Seriously though, do you use the same grip on your backhand and forehand. I don't but I find it hard to flip the short backspins back over the net. Do most high level players (shakehand) use the same grip on forehand and backhand?

@@PechPongTT Oh nice, lovely city ! If you have tournaments in Berlin you can post it on your yt channel, maybe you have people who want to see you play. ;)
There are two things that you're not doing that will help you with your flip: 1. You're getting yourself low enough. And 2. You're not cocking your head to the side. When you cock your head to the side it allows you to swing the racket more loosely and freely on the flip. When your head is not cocked sideways you lose all your touch and control on the flip. Test it yourself and see that it's true. And getting lower simply helps you raise the ball more easily, and I saw you bury several flips into the net in this match. The reasons why are the 2 that I have just told you. You cannot raise the ball enough in the position you use because it would mean having to hit harder. You cannot hit it harder without missing because your head isn't cocked. Without it cocked you don't have the feeling to get the ball up and down. If you got lower, you would be able to get more underneath the ball. And if you cocked your head, you could control the heavy incoming spins, and you could create more spin yourself via having better touch on the ball. Therefore, you will be able to hit a more consistent, faster, and spinnier flip, if you take these things into account.
Cracking ...for me your touch shots in the short game are a weakess in this game .... if your training out in japan that will help as the players out there are physically less pumped to rely on the touch being top notch.
Ich check das nicht ,ihr habt ca. 2100 ttr und spielt auch dementsprechend gut aber es gibt hier auf TH-cam Videos von Spielern die auch so viel haben aber die sind viel schlechter 😮
Hey, mate. You know, if you were a bit less tensed up overall, but especially in your legs/feet, you would raise your level of play, not that you're a bad player by any means. I just see that you're missing out on spin and speed on the ball, especially on the forehand, due to being tensed up. You must RELAX and try to FLOW like water in all of your movements. Don't tense your muscles up and exert energy that way. That won't help you. What will help you is being wise tactically, staying on your toes (especially JUST as the ball bounces on their side), and being as loose as can be. It's just a wee little table tennis ball, mate. It doesn't require muscular strength to hit it.
Would you like to know how you raise your level from where you're at? I know how it feels to make it to your level and get pretty comfortable at that level. I know that it feels like you have mastered the game and that there is no obvious higher level for you. And you have mastered the game compared to 99.8% of the world. But, there are still those 0.2% of people in the world who are higher level than you. 0.1% of people in the world can smoke you. So, there's clearly much more for you to figure out. And since I'm in the category of the 0.1% of people in the world that can smoke you, I can tell you what you need to focus on in order to increase your level and your tier of play: First of all, you have to stop backing off so much. The spot you seem to normally back off to is where somebody is in desperation at my level. Whether you like it or not, you have to stay where it feels a few cm into being UNCOMFORTABLY close when you attack and when you counter. Secondly, you don't seem to know how to set somebody up with 1-2 attacks. You seem to still react to your opponents a lot of the time. Try DICTATING at all times. Thirdly, you don't go for enough when you attack. If you want to increase your level, your attacks must always be aimed at those lines. You need consistent depth to within a few cm of the baseline. To me, if you don't do so, then it doesn't matter how fast, or spinny your attack is because it's going to sit-up right in my wheelhouse and I am going to counterattack the crap out of it. See, I stand at a depth to where attacks that are within a few cm of the baseline are too deep for me to effectively counterattack. But, I'm still able to stay in the point and not get backed off. And at my depth, anything that is not that deep is right in my wheelhouse and I am able to counterattack it with class and take the attack away from my opponent. So, they don't have much room for error, and that's really the overall key, is to take your game to a level where you no longer allow yourself any comfort, or any margin for error. You have to play every part of the game right on the ragged edge (metaphorically speaking). Finally, if you're going to flip, then you better be firing it right underneath them, or you better be catching them off guard + flat-footed and hitting it far to the free side. You don't flip just to give them meatballs. So, if you can't effectively flip like that, then that's when you push. It's really that straightforward, if you actually want to raise your level from where you are.
When you loop forehand from the backhand side you should try going to his super wide forehand like off the side of the table. He's too good at camping in backhand position and blocking you around
Thanks but still the flip is not clear the updated one is it wrist elbow for short and wrist elbow with more swing for long or shoulder included as in the second type . I am confused.

Lookin' buffed, Seth!👍Great game..lefties are tough...maybe more aggression vs these Europeans... yr still our hero!😁
Thanks 🙏 yeah I’ll get ‘em next time 😤
Cracking ...for me your touch shots in the short game are a weakess in this game .... if your training out in japan that will help as the players out there are physically less pumped to rely on the touch being top notch.
Yes I am working on touch shots everyday now it’s becoming priority number 1
Hi seth,
Wellcome to Japan. I can show you places where strong Japanese gather to practice!
Thank you! I am in Sapporo where are you located :)

Tokyo
@@BiscoWho thanks! Yes being relaxed while playing is much more effective I agree
"Expecially" is not a word, mate.
And just in case: "Expresso" is not a word either.
@@BiscoWho thanks!

He's probably called konrad haase and not haase konrad. At least konrad is a first name, and haase is absolutely not plus it's a usual surname.
Thank you your probably right
Would you like to know how you raise your level from where you're at?
Yes 100%! thanks for the input
