Personally, I really want Finn to come to Michigan. I think he fits the bill of what this team needs right now. He'll get a chance to compete and would most-likely be the starter who won't be asked to do too much, but he'll instantly be an upgrade from what they have on the roster this year. Seriously, if any three of these guys played at Michigan they win 10 games in 2024.
How about we just stick with Davis Warren..try and develope him in this off season i believe he can improve enough to win football games with the new OC and a lot of hard work knowing Underwood will most likely start in the fourth or fifth game given he gets reps in every game just a thought 🤔
What about the Quinn Ewers Arch Manning situation? To me just proves they can land another big fish QB, believe in the Bryce Underwood effect but I think most of these guys want to compete and if not I would rather not bring them in.
Honestly, this is a mess. You call him the "big fish" but it's becoming probable that Underwood is going to hinder us for a while. I guarantee you he will not be able to go from losing to Howell and Catholic Central in high school to 8 months later being able to read Big 10 defenses. Odds are we are going to be worse off for having signed Underwood as crazy as that sounds right now. Mark my words.
There is an alternative reality where Bryce goes to LSU, Michigan grabs Mateer from the portal to start in 2025, 2-3 GREAT WRs transfer to Michigan bc they know we have a QB, Carter Smith and Jayden Davis are developing behind Mateer, Mateer takes us to the playoff in year 1, He returns to Michigan with his final year of eligibility, Brady Hart develops behind Mateer in his final year, we go to our 2nd playoff, Mateer goes pro, either Davis or Carter transfer out, Brady Hart is our star QB in 2027.
@@di114n2 They could've gotten John Mateer AND his OC if Bryce stayed with LSU, and Mateer has more than one year of eligibility also. It would've been the acquisition of a proven, talented, veteran dual threat QB. I would've been just as excited with this alternative 🤷
Why not just keep Warren. (1 yr eligibility left) Use the portal to build the O line/Receivers/running backs, etc. Give Warren something to have success with short term while getting Underwood ready for, hopefully, a start early mid way?
This could happen. I don't see anyone signing up for competing against Underwood which is all Moore will say. He's not guaranteeing anyone the starting job so guys with 1 year left it's a huge risk. Bryce is going to be incredible by mid season so im not worried. Warren is fine with me.
Lewis signed with Memphis! Finn and Keene are the only two left. My prediction is if Finn doesn't commit by the weekend, Keene will be the guy because of his relationship to the new OC Lindsey. Btw, don't understand all the hate towards Keene? He's the most experienced and has had the most success plus is the most consistent of the three guys they're targeting. Is he an NFL level QB? No! But neither is Lewis or Finn. The other thing I don't understand is why they're not looking at Mendoza? He's the top QB available in the portal. As good as Underwood may be eventually, we've seen that even starting a 5-star Freshman at QB in year 1 is pretty much a guarantee to end up with at least 3 to 4 losses. Just look at Raiola at Nebraska! Even McCarthy wasn't ready to start as a freshman. He pretty much cost them the MSU game in 2021with that late fumble. So let's not make Underwood out to be some kind of savior when he's never taken a college snap. Experience matters! Talent does to. But our QB room lacked both this past year and we saw how that turned out. If it were up to me, I'd go hard after Mendoza and let Underwood sit for the year and learn. He's getting paid bank whether he plays or not. So he should be content for the time being. If he pulls a Quinn Ewers and leaves in 6 months, then he's not the QB that Michigan needs anyway. Nobody should be guaranteed anything! Everything must be earned! Your HS career means nothing.
UM seems set on getting the worst QB possible 🤷 Mendoza is only listed as a sophomore. I don't think playing in front of Bryce would be an ideal situation for him if he's automatically expected to give up the keys at some point and he has to go through the trouble of relocating again to another school. Another issue we seem to have is that WRs don't even know who our QB will be and I can't imagine any of the QBs still in the portal have the pull to lure a great WR here.
JJ was more than ready to play as a freshman. All Cade did was hand the football off, and OCCASIONALLY throw 5-10 yards downfield as needed. That fumble vs. MSU was cos Harbaugh kept bringing JJ in the game at the most inopportune times for ONE play (like during a monsoon in a rivalry game in East Lansing). JJ could've done any and everything Cade was doing in '21, he was just held back by Harbaugh and his sometimes infuriating allegiance to "tradition."
I agree that we're not making the playoffs next year if we have to start Bryce day 1. We need a good portal QB to ease the transition, which could take a year.
@@JuwanDunbar-b6u Branch has butter fingers and had his kick return duties taken from him bc he wasn't good at that either. He's not worth what he's asking. Get a tall WR with speed who can actually the ball.
Elite WRs don't have a lick of interest in joining us without actually seeing this Chip Lindsey offense in action, without knowing who the QB will be, and without seeing Bryce Underwood actually play in college. Who can blame them?

Michigan winning another natty next year 🏆 💯

If he wins the job he’s the best, of he doesn’t he’s not. Pretty simple logic
Michigan starting bryce underwood week 1

Arch manning earns about 4 million dollars a year to just sit
Brendan Lewis committed to Memphis!
Wow we've let every decent QB commit elsewhere 😂
They dont wanna come because of Bryce U.
Michigan football winning another natty next year 🏆 💯
Being worried about underwood is why these other qbs names will never be remembered

Who were they going to get if they didn’t have Bryce ? If worst come to worst they still have Davis Warren with a better offensive cordinator

He’s probably going to be on the roster, but as a backup/mentor role. If he was going to be out he would have already entered the portal.

They already did that remember
Acting like bringing in 1 player “portal QB” is going to throw everything else off.. that’s crazy
We are where we are. Because 90 percent of Michigan fans are calling for BU to start day 1 🤷🏾♂️

Dillon Gabriel isn't an NFL QB either. Heck, how many true NFL QB's are there in the playoffs?
