The Woodward high school band played this song at our 2019 spring concert last school year. My best friend, Christopher Fritz, had committed a suicide roughly a month prior to said performance. My band director was kind enough to allow me to speak a few words before the song, and dedicate the performance to him. I still cry every time I listen to it.
Hey man, we're playing this song this year for our lenten tour we do in our surrounding states at different churches. We'll be thinking about you, your friends, and Christopher's family when we do. I'm so sorry for your loss, I pray for comfort and peace, even though this is a couple of years later, that pain always remains. God bless

someone i knew committed suicide so the day after was rough and we were playing ember skies at the time i just broke down mid song
