Ah, love this. I had recorded both sessions off the radio at the time and was totally blown away. Later they found their way to my HD and still there they are and all time favourites for me. Thanks a million for that music!
whoa, just realized you were the bassist from stars first record, the world is so small! i also love pyramid. you're a fenomenal bass player. greetings from chile!
Great times ,watched them a number of times in Melbourne ,Flower Hotel in Port Melbourne ? Still play the album of a CD burn ,from memory my vinyl LP the cover was Pink?
I believe it was The Tankerville Arms in Carlton or The Grainstore in the 80's. That pink cover album is from the Don burrows show on ABC. Stand by for a CD release later in the year...
The maturity of musicianship reminds me of the band Koinonia, and they were all top of their games as LA session musos at the time. Just incredible guys, miss this level of music.
Heyyy! You made it. Yay! Great work Roger. Now we have two clear mp4 records to celebrate this band's amazing work. This is priceless footage and so generous of them to provide it to you. Love the chillies too! They've run out. :-)
I've seen quite a lot of footage from the montreux jazz festival from different years all the bands are the best in the world the standard must be of the highest order none bigger than miles Davis
Thanks so much Roger, I listened to the ABC record (vinyl, still have it!) as a teenager and was mind blown of the music and sonic possibilities, thanks so much for sharing
Hey Rog, thanks so much for posting this, what a virtuosic and energetic performance. After a decade of watching the other Pyramid vids you posted, yesterday I found Glenn's vid of the Don Burrows gig (RIP), and today I found this! Who knows, maybe tomorrow you'll put the rest of the other Montreux set! Thanks again.
@@RJRKM Schoolyard Three was a huge favourite of mine.. the reason? I just loved the unison line of your bass and Bob's trumpet.. got me every time ,, a fantastic sound. Pity it never went on to vinyl..
Fantastic, so pleased to hear this - what a band of trailblazing musicians!
