Im sure he meant traditional ssd’s with sata conections, and I don’t see why you couldn’t but it’d be best to check the compatibility list on hdd/ssds or directly ask em, Although it would be less than ideal, hdd’s are way better $ per TB and if you want speed you can use the m.2 slots as the other user suggested
I had a co work who put Linux on his OnePlus 8 5g and has something like this and just crazy videos and movies all from servers from Japan and overseas it was actually legit fire
If you delete photos from your phone after it's been backed up to the NAS, does it sync and update in-kind or do the photos stay in the backup? Trying to get off of Apple's paid cloud service for multiple phones.
Yes, I must say he should not bring up security here. A NAS is just as secure as the Cloud. Infact it might be less secure when you do not set it up correctly, but you have more control over your data if you do it correctly.
The better benifit over cloud service is really... you own the content. You don't pay a subscription fee. No risk of your data being deleted for not being used in xyz days. Etc. Your data, on your storage device. Example. My wife had maxed out her google photo storage... with a nas we can sync her photos to the nas at no subscription fee. She can continue to snap away and record all of life's memories.
Bro, I don't need your network architecture explanation at the beginning. I came here for two things, show me its functionality, show me its software. You don't need to explain everything else, especially at the jump of the vid!
This is THE most thorough review of this product on the internet period!
I'm glad you bought Ugreen over Synology Nas
Don't forget to update the firmware
Just what i was needing.
If your server supports tailscale you can have a cloud vpn to your nas using tailscale on all the devices you want to connect up.
Probably a dumb question but can I use SSD drives ?
Yes it has 2 slots for M.2 drives

Why would using a cloud service be insecure? Not sure I understand what the insecure part is.

As UGREEN does not provide MF yet, it is missing a major security feature over commercial cloud storage
