It looks amazing! You did a great job. I'm starting our small front patio area this weekend. We picked up the cement, now I'm ready. After watching your video, I really can't wait!
Nice. What did you use for the curved corners? i would guess edging, is it buried? I have a downspout drainage underneath so if not buried is this ok? Because I think this would work for me. Thoughts? thanks
What I'm thinking of doing is a dry pour walkway but use a stone step mold to make the stone step pattern, then mist 2x and soak 6x or 8x times. See if it will hold the pattern until it dries.
I think it's amazing that everyone has the same water nozzle with the mist setting. I have it too, so I guess I'm destined to do a dry pour some day. Good job.
You will need to remove grass. The concrete is about 2.5 inches, but there are several inches of compacted rock under that. Nothing that will decompose.
You did a good job, the ready mix in the bag is already perfectly mixed just needs water to cure. Dry mix seems far less labor intensive. I suppose you can even make it better after the first mist by running a foam roller on it abd a fine broom to give it that line finish. Do a quick walkover video update and show us how it is.
MOST important thing is that it's going to look like however it is dry when it's wet. Once you start to wet it, you can't really fix anything like normal concrete pours. I'm going to do this for a few 8x8 small shed floors I'm getting ready to put together.
@@AdventuresWithDanaJodie That makes sense. Spent the extra time to make it perfect, then start the hydration process. Did you use any rebate or wire reinforcement?Once again great job!
You are correct. A control joint is used to control cracking while an expansion joint is designed to handle structural movement. I called it the wrong thing. However, the control joint has done what it was supposed to do. I do have one crack and it is at a joint.

Best of luck
It's concrete, not cement. Cement is a component in concrete.
Adding mortar will make the top more slippery. The bumps from the pebbles in the Quickrete are helpful when it’s icy or raining.
I like Dry pour

I had old landscape edging that I used for the curves. I used a utility knife to cut them to about 3 inches.
@@AdventuresWithDanaJodie thankyou i was thinking i may need to do that. thanks!
What size are you form boards?

Good job.
I didn't even know I had it until I started thinking of doing this project. I guess the water nozzle people were already thinking about this. :)
You'll also be destined to get it ripped out once it falls apart so have fun w that! 😂
What does the mortar to to the cement? Does it require more spray time with the mortar? It looks smoother tan some of the others I’ve seen.
It had less course aggregate, so it was easier to screed. It did look a tanner color.
It looks like you have expansion joints. Did i miss how you did that? Thanks
I used a tool before spraying it but did go back a few weeks later with a angle grinder to clean them up.
@@AdventuresWithDanaJodie thanks!
How deep did you make your walkway? I’m wondering if I need to dig out my grass, or just cover it to let it die?

What happens if ur sweat drops into it while it’s dry… what do u do to fix that?

I'll post an update soon.
I'm adding a update video now. Should be loaded by time you see this message.
I'm getting ready to do this too! Looks awesome. I'm sure some know it all will chime in and say it's not possible, wint last, etc.

@Joeak74 no wire or mesh. It's just a walking path so didn't use anything.
Thats good job looking good 😊
Thanks
Nice job I would love to see how it all turned out
I'll update in a few weeks
I'm posting a 60 day update right now. So far, so good.
Looks great man. Those are control joints to give the concrete a place to crack, not expansion joints

Awesome looks good 🤙🤙🤙
Thanks
how many bags did this walk take?
About one 60 pound bag for every 2 linear feet. It's 20 inches wide. Also, about 3 inches thick. So about 35 bags for 70 feet of sidewalk.
Very nice! Update video coming?
Not sure. I didn't think many would be all that interested. I'm building an arbor, fence, and gate so might make a video when that is done.
I'm uploading a 60 day update video this evening. So far, so good.
🔥🔥🔥
Please wear gloves. Those chemicals can be absorbed into your skin. Looks great!
Awesome🥰🥰🥰🥰

let the cracking begin
I just did an update to address the cracking issues. Thanks for watching.
These dry pours are hilarious. I cannot believe people think this is a good idea. Why are Americans always looking for an easy route? Pure laziness.
