Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this performance with tears of joy at the venue on April 2 last year. You made a good choice because these two songs were played in all of concets in their world tour including in North America (29 gigs in USA and Canada).
The band playing in the girls' back is called Wester Kami (= God) Band and players are all American. Your favorite drummer (and mine as well) is Anthony Barone. (There is another Band, Eastern Kami by all Japanese players. Both are great.)
BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover).
    Please explore BABYMETAL more.

Thanks to whomever recommended these two songs and this particular concert. What a wonderful introduction to this incredible band. Babymetal has a unique, amazing if complicated history going back to 2010. There is so much lore to the Babymetal story. The choreography/dancing has been an aspect of their act going back to the J-pop side of their roots. The combo of amazing vocals, insane instrumentals and delightful choreography are all integral parts of the Babymetal experience. Sumetal/lead vocals-is also known as Queen Su for her regal bearing. Moametal and Momometal sing accompanying vocals, choreography and help to guide the audience. Babymetal's audience interaction is one of the world's seven wonders. I look forward to you doing more Babymetal reactions. If you do any of their older videos you will see three skilled teenagers with the same power and audience control as witnessed here. Some of the older videos will give you some better glimpses of the band-there are actually two now-and there are several songs which give the band an opportunity to show off. Welcome to the Foxhole-you'll find out, don't worry. p.s. thought it was great your replaying of parts that really caught your attention. Thought the audio on the concert footage could have been a bit louder, just saying.

Welcome to one of the best live bands for the last 13 years or more now - they're virtually flawless in all departments from stage management and lighting, to the band, choreography costumes singing and of course - unique music in a genre they created, and to date no one has come close to matching. Great reaction and more please :D

Even grandparents and grandchildren 😃 Su, the main vocalist, has an amazing voice voted 6th best metal vocalist in the world, and that was a few years ago, and she has only gotten better since then . She was voted Metal Goddess 2 years in a row in her teens ! You have only just scratched the surface of BabyMetal. Try reacting to Metali live, a very fun song ❤👍

There is nothing that compares to a LIVE Babymetal performance in Japan.
    👍 👍
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old. All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
In the beginning Amuse showed little interest and the girls had minimal financing. They performed at strip malls and small venues borrowing clothes for shows from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack.
They quickly became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues).
Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to HQ pro shot videos of LIVE performances instead of official MV's (the reason is that the vast majority of MV's use studio audio over LIVE footage AND without the awesome Kami Band instrumentals)
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.

Aaaw yeah! Welcome to Babymetal! These gals are 13-year veterans who stsrted in 2010 at age 12/11. Lucky for you, they have almost 70 songs, and all but 2 has been performed live.
The drummer here is Anthony Barone (previously Shadow of Intent), and he’s part of the Kami Band West who has taken over in 2023 as their primary band.
Monochrome is a new song from their 4th album from end of 2022, but Road of Resistance has been their staple show closer since 2014.
You should check out some of their earlier stuff, since Babymetal has been rocking crowds from a very young age:
*Headbanger (Legend 1997):* Dec 2013 show, lead Su-metal’s 16th birthday.
*Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Brutality adorable song about hide and seek. 😂
Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

"I kind of forgot metal existed"
This is why Babymetal exists, to help spur a new interest in metal music.
    AND live concerts as well.
Babymetal is all about the live experience and you would NOT look out of place, just be aware where to stand at the concert if you don't want to be part of this part.
At these shows you have young kids (with parents) and old people (usually seated on the side of the venue) and everything in between.
If you want to see the drummer play something else, please react to:
Anthony Barone // BENEATH THE MASSACRE - Rise of the Fearmonger (Official Drum Playthrough) 🙂
It might not be the music you like, but you can see him work hard and his talent.

Great first reaction, welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole (long story about foxes, but the fans are known as 'The One').🦊First things first, you would not look out of place at a BABYMETAL concert, you will find people of all ages (6 to 80), backgrounds, nationalities and whatever else you can think of all shoulder to shoulder having the best time of their lives.
They were formed in 2010 as a sub-unit of a JPop Idol group formed by the Amuse Talent agency to coach, train and teach about a dozen of the most talented girls in all aspects of entertainment so that when they reached school leaving age (15 in Japan) they could choose a career path in whatever they enjoyed most or were best at.
BABYMETAL was the brainchild and passion project of their metalhead producer Kei Kobayashi who was inspired to try this mad idea of fusing metal with JPop aesthetics and vocals after seeing lead singer Su-metal with her previous group and being so impressed by her vocal talents and stage presence. He thought it might just inject some youth into and help rejuvenate the stagnant metal and rock music scene - as it was in Japan at that time.
The three members (Su-metal - lead vocalist, Yuimetal and Moametal - backing vocals, harmonies and in charge of hyping and involving the crowd through their choreo) were aged 12, 11 and 11. We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet.
Yuimetal last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for health reasons until she announced she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band.
Su and Moa continued as a duo for 4 or 5 years supported from 2019 by 3 dancers who would take turns dancing in the third spot until 1st April 2023 when one of those dancers, Momoko, was finally revealed as the new official third member.
These videos were filmed at the Clear Night concert on 2nd April - Momometal's very first concert as an official member, now with her own mic and singing along with Su and Moa.
BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they brought a fusion of great metal instrumentals coupled with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics to create their very own sub-genre ... and they have continued to develop and evolve from those beginnings.
They don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boys) to look at to take your mind off often bland music).
BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement.
They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. They first appeared in October 2012 and became the full time support for all live shows from March 2014.
Early on BABYMETAL did not have the funding for a live band so the instrumentals were pre-recorded and played on the backing track and in some early shows they had guys in skeleton suits (called Babybones) dancing round pretending to play the instruments - no real pretence, everybody knew what they were doing and why they were there.
The Kami Band played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows before they became the full time support for all live shows.
In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then. These videos both had the Kami Band of the West playing ... the drummer is Anthony Barone.
They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different from the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.
I'm sure you will get a lot of suggestions for more songs - you really can't go wrong with any of them. The official videos are all very good and worth seeing, but BABYMETAL is a live performance act, that is where you will see and hear them at their very best.

    Monochrome By Babymetal:-
It's really atmospheric which I like. Divine Attack brought the hype and Monochrome brought beautiful vibes. The next single will bring the heavy vibes I hope. Well, this song certainly shows that the few second snippets don't really spoil or give away the songs at all. The chorus with the is catchy, but the drum riffs are the jam for me upon first couple of listens. Since the snippets don't reveal the songs, I'm wondering if the five songs that will be released aren't gonna reveal the final album as a concept album, once released and listened to in full and in sequence, as most concept albums are meant to be listened to. Being that this album is conceptual, and should probably be listened to as a whole and in order, this could be a fun slow-burn reveal to. As of now only two original Babymetal are in the current status, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal, Main Vocalist) & Moa Kikuchi (Moametal, Backing Vocals). The third member Momoko Okazaki becomes Babymetal official 3rd member On April 1, 2023, during the Babymetal concert "Babymetal Begins: Black Night" at the Pia Arena MM in Yokohama, Okazaki was officially announced as their new member with the stage name "Momometal". Later that year, her vocals were featured in the spoken section of Babymetal's digital single "Metali!!".

    Babymetal singles chronology:-
    •"Megitsune" (2013).
    •"Road of Resistance" (2015).
    •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015).
    Background and release:-
"Road of Resistance" includes guest appearances by DragonForce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman.
The song would be used to mark the beginning of the band's lore, Metal Resistance Episode III, at the concert held on November 8, 2014 at O2 Brixton Academy in London, which was also the final tour date for the band's Babymetal World Tour 2014.
A trailer for the song was released on January 5, 2015, integrating footage from the debut performance of the song in London. The song was first released as a digital bonus track off the live album Live at Budokan: Red Night, with limited editions of the album containing a download card with a code to download the song at no additional charge. The song was later released as a dedicated digital single on the iTunes Store on February 1, 2015.
Li and Totman are featured on guitars, although they are listed as featured artists in various regions of the re-release of the album Babymetal, on which the song appears as a bonus track, mainly in the United Kingdom.
    Composition:-
Rolling Stone described the song as "power metal" with "shiny pop harmonies". Rock Sound called the song "everything we’d expect from [Babymetal] with a bit of Dragonforce’s exhilarating, flame-fingered guitar added in for good measure." Matt Evans of The List called the song an "empowering hyperspeed anthem". According to Kadokawa, the song consists of twin shred guitars courtesy of Li and Totman, with a dynamic sound derived of melodic speed metal. The lyrics are described as a narrative on the Metal Resistance, which the band adopted on their world tour. It has also been considered the "final stage" of Babymetal and the prologue to Metal Resistance, and a transition performance that demonstrates the band's growth from the previous album.
According to Su-metal, the song refers to the Metal Resistance lore, described as "the story of Babymetal traveling across the world in the hopes of creating a new metal to unify the world as we break through the barriers of language and borders. In the middle of the song there is a part where we go, ‘Wow, Wow’ and this is where our fans from around the world can sing with us at our concerts. I hope people will listen to our album and support us at our shows." Yuimetal stated in an interview with Metal Hammer that "Road of Resistance" is her favorite song from Metal Resistance, explaining that it "has been performed at so many concerts, so a lot of memories are jam-packed. The lyrics are positive, the sound is so cool, and [the] dance is so powerful."
•Recorded by Watametal and Adrian Breakspear.
    •Mixed by Ettore Rigotti
    Personnel:-
    •Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) - Main vocals.
•Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) - Backing vocals. (Left Babymetal in 2018 due to undisclosed health issue).

14:50 Actually, you wouldnt at all lol!! Babymetal's entire purpose is to mix and match genres with metal, which attracts a very diverse audience. If you watch videos of the crowd in front of the venues you'll see 12 year old girls in costumes, 20 year old cosplayers and metalheads in their 40's and 50's. It is quite amusing. Babymetal said multiple times that they especially want young women to get into Metal, and they have a soft stop for girls in their concerts. Once they actually had an only girls festival too!!

    Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘
Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
    Babymetal is:
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Yui-bot, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks.
Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs.
** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal).
Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts.
Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs.
Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot!
Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch.
BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows.
AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021.
    They were:
    Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist.
Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.
    We are #notacult.

With Babymetal, live performances are always the best, but most of their music videos are worth watching too. If you enjoyed these, there are plenty of other great songs. I'd suggest Karate, Megitsune, Headbanger, Akatsuki (at Budokan Black Night) and Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischiefs of Metal Gods intro. There's also a piano version of Monochrome that they did on The First Take.

They are for everyone, literally so, you would not be out of place. You can war whatever you want. Even a Pikachu onesie (not joking). 😁
At this point you just need to know that their choreo is an integral part of what they do and They are backed by a band called Kami Band formed by session musicians. The drummer here is Anthony Barone... and I believe you enjoyed his way pf drumming. Me too, he's one of my favorite drummers (and I'm quite picky about it). Also, they are very diverse musically since they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected.

Fun first reaction! They were built on the foundation of the juxtaposition between high pitched cutsey j pop style singing with cute dancing, with dark true heavy metal behind it.
They've grown up so that difference between the sounds is less but it's always very confusing to the ears at first haha, and obviously visually it's almost a sensory overload, their dancing is meant to be as big a part as the singing and music.
Their relentless energy and positive messaging is truly inspiring!
My wife and I saw them twice in Texas last year and I hadn't become that emotional during a concert in a long time (I'm 47).
They're fierce, powerful, and cute af .. a true force!
A few simple observations for your journey ...
    No two songs sound alike.
The messaging ranges from super playful and cute, to really deep and important (Ijime Dame Zettai, my favorite song, is about anti bullying)
They often blend different music genres with metal.
The cultural blend also is included in the choreography.
Every single song has carefully planned sync choreo, usually telling the story of the song.
Hope you enjoy more! I would for sure check out Ijime Dame Zettai from PIA Arena 2023!
Edit, small advice about doing reaction videos .. some folks will hate if you pause even once, some will hate if you never pause and talk only after.
I say you do you. For this especially as a first time going in blind I thought it was great how you would stop and explain thoughts. And especially backing up a bit after you talk!

The BM video is hardly audible, you can barely hear it and your mic is insanely loud. SOOOOO much background noise bleeding into your mic.
And it gets even worse. @6:47 the BM video gets even softer and fades in and out. WTH? And it's not the video. I've seen this video a million times and it doesn't do that.
