@@CamerasLensesEtc I have the same problem, how are they joined? You said it was almost impossible, so it potentially can be done. I just need to know how they join........ I appreciate the rest of the video by the way, thank you!
I just got this lens and it is plagued with fungus. I intend to disassemble it so I will let you know here if it is still interesting to you. Usually, you would need to use a rubber tool to apply gentle pressure on the glass and rotate it to unscrew it.
Thank you for the clear instructions. Would be great if you would come up with the tamron 18-400 lens. It’s front part is pretty tricky as there is no indication of where to find that tiny hole before getting to the screws.
@@CamerasLensesEtc I just got done cleaning my 18-400, using this same video. The toughest part was working with the three (3) set of shims under the focal mount. They are real thin and bend easy. The plastic ring was a little fight to get off. Thanks for the Video!
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for your good movies. I've gone through your help itself a flexcable replaced by a canon 17/85 lens. I find it totally amazing to fix things. I am also considering going to movies. But then with all different repairs. Unfortunate that as a hobbyist no parts near Cannon can buy. Also, there are no stores that sell canon parts. Also repair schedules are not available. Thanks again. Sorry for my bad English
Hello! Actually, you can buy lots of repair parts for Canon on eBay. In the NL, TechRepair also selling original, genuine Canon repair parts. Anyway, thank you for the positive comment!
hello, i want to ask you, if there is moisture between the frontlens itselfs, is there a way; to clean this? there are now visible dried waterdrops between the frontlens, inside, the moisture is gone, but they leave marks between the lens inside. by the way i liked your video, but i wonder if there's a solution for this too.
A lot of thanks .very informative video
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. Now I know how to get in to my 18-200mm for cleaning.

Thank you for letting me know, I'm glad that you find a solution to the problem.
Hi! I have this lens but the focus ring behaves like it needs to be greased... Would you have a video on this by any chance please? Thank you!
Do you mean when the focus ring in in manual focus mode? (Because you should not move the focus ring in AF mode!)
My lens has fungus in between the combined lens (front element), im not able to clean! Any idea how to approach this situation?
Generally, that can't be cleaned... it is (almost) impossible to separate the two lens elements, and put them back together perfectly.
@@CamerasLensesEtc Thank you for the reply! think i have to live with it in this case

How about buttom disassembly?

I haven never had Tamron 18-400, so I don't know how to remove the front lens element.

Hi, nice video! How about replacing aperture flex on Tamron 18-270mm VC PZD? Need help. Thanks a lot.
Hello! Currently I don't have video about that. If I have a faulty VC PZD lens which I have to repair, then I'll record it, and put it on my channel.
