Railroad Crossing Nightmares Solved! A Must See Solution! Fast Trains & Level Railway Crossings!

- Railroad Crossings Being Blocked By Norfolk Southern Railroad Trains In Seven Mile, Ohio Have Been A Problem For Years. Trains Block Several RR Crossings Which Prevents People From Getting Out Of A Big Residential Area. Video Also Includes CSX Trains & Norfolk Southern Trains In Nearby Hamilton, Ohio. First Train Features Union Pacific Railroad Locomotives.
The railroad crossing issue has been on television for years. I have gone to Seven Mile a dozen times or more trying to figure out the problem. Trains stop sometimes and block the only roads in and out of a large residential area. Trains have gotten longer over the past few years and some of them are over 2 and a half miles long! I have filmed them. 3 roads are blocked several times a year. The roads are Fear Not Mills Road, Spring Road and West Elkton Road. When these roads are blocked there is no way out. A solution was found and will be in place by 2026. A bypass road will be built from West Elkton Road to West Taylor School Road. The road will be almost 3,000 feet long and will run parallel to the railroad tracks. The Ohio Rail Development Commission will kick in 2.8 million dollars for the project which will cost approximately 3 million dollars. The crossing at West Elkton Road will be closed. This will give the residents a way out when trains stop near town.
We also see a brand new defect detector that was installed in Seven Mile next to West Elkton Road. The first train in this video is flying past the West Elkton Road crossing. This is an intermodal train with Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern locomotives. Then we see a train at the other end of the project. After that we go to nearby Hamilton Ohio to see three more trains in town at various railroad crossings. The Norfolk Southern trains in this video tie into the CSX line in New Miami, just north of Hamilton and share the CSX line for a short distance.
ERMS rail is Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel which is a steel mill in Pueblo, Colorado. Now you know.
Don't miss the Live Action Pets and the slide show that comes from this video. It was another rainy day in Ohio.

Hello Steve! Its a sunny day today in Ohio
Rodney was so funny especially in my 3 wives lol.
How old is old 😅
@@CrazyBob1357 Depends on your perspective. My father is 90 and my mother is 88. I consider them older than me.
@@JawTooth hi there Jaw Tooth
Ahhh. An early Sunday morning with the first cup of fresh coffee, a warm blanket and my easy chair, and another Jawtooth train video...what could be better than this?❤😅😊 That was a GREAT shot of the UP train at the grain elevator! They were BOOKIN'! What is the hurry?!?😂
Thanks for watching my videos!
Train's & Corn Flakes in the A.M. 👍. It's the start of a good day. Regards to Mrs.Tooth & family.💯🐱🐶🇺🇸☺️🛤️
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for walking in the rain so you could film in the rain, but why weren't you singing in the rain??
Oh - nevermind - you were shooting this fantastic video for us. 👍
These shots of how things are now are history in the making - referring specifically to the proposed bypass you said about.
Stay safe, my friend, and thank you for your diligence. 🤩
You already know this, BG, but for those who don't know - Let the Lord guide you and you'll be glad you did.
He could have dome a Gene Kelly in the rain.
I've lived in areas where trains blocking traffic had been an issue for years. The town of Stockbridge, GA took matters in hand several decades back, and built an overpass road in the middle of town so the cars could drive over the tracks. I lived there before that was done, so there were days when you sat for nearly half hour waiting on a train to move. Great video JT!! Like how you say where certain cars are coming from and heading to. Appreciate the miles traveled to bring us the rails! Until next time!!
You’re absolutely right. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Great Film 🎥. I had a few monsters yesterday on the rails. NS39G by itself was 16 minutes long for my video. 596 594 are two combined coal trains both had 212 coal cars.
Very cool!
Have a good Sunday ❤❤. Great catches on trains
Thank you very much!
There is something peaceful about this location.
An 86 NS car covered hopper train with a BNSF helper. Likely a grain train given the length. Another good train, JT! 😊😊😊❤❤❤😊
Cool, thanks!
@@JawTooth You're quite welcome JT!
A grand video JT, as always. I was out yesterday videoing steam (3-21-2024)
Wow, steam in March? That sounds awesome
Awesome quality as always JT thanks best wishes from Scotland 😊
Thanks 👍
@@JawTooth keep up the good work JT thanks 😊👍
Very good
Thanks!
I love that horn at the beginning. My favorite. Another fine video from Jaw Tooth. Have a nice Sunday 😊🌈
Thanks! You too!
Glad that they are addressing the problem. Where I live in WV, our main route (2) is cut off several times a day. Sometimes for more than 30 minutes. There has actually been a fatality because of the ambulance being stuck. It would be nice if CSX and the state would take an interest in finding a solution to this problem.
You must be between Huntington and Point Pleasent?
No Paden City and the tracks in New Martinsville that go out the shortline is the problem.
@@verneord
Hi, hope you are having a good Sunday. That train was moving! Weather looks like England. Interesting to see the buckeye buffer stop on the siding. Great video.
Thanks, you too! I don't know if they use that track anymore. I have never seen a freight car on it but I have seen maintenance of way equipment stored on it
Hey Brian. The spur that cuts off to the west by the old train station in Hamilton crosses the Great Miami river. Where it lands on the other side is a really cool looking stone arched trestle. I think it would be a great spot to grab a video if there's enough trains going that way. Also the neighborhood looks a bit sketchy but I'll let you be the judge...
Have a great Sunday. 🙏
I have filmed on that side but not the stone trestle. I filmed the very west end of it where an abandoned road goes over it. I will film it soon though
Cheeky wee horn salute at 17:31???😮😊🏴🇬🇧…

Shout out to Mrs JawTooth
Great catches awesome capture and nice video
Thank you very much!
Hope the people that are going to lose some land get paid well. Enjoyed this one much, thanks JT,
I hope so too. By putting a public road along their farm ground it will increase the value of their property and make it more desirable for development. I'm not for development but just pointing that out. Hopefully it will stay in farm use.
one more liked for your channel Jaw Tooth even in the rain you make the commitment to make great video's for us railfans thank you
Wow that last train was a long one enjoy your videos
Thanks for watching
A really good NS intermodal with triple power. It wasn't ss colorful as son but it was 129 cars +/-, so acceptably long. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Great vid JT from a big fan in Ireland
Awesome thank you!
Good to see you JT. I just left a TH-cam channel of "funny" video clips that didn't bother to censor the language. I saw the cross that's at the intro to every Jaw Tooth video and I felt safe.
Yay!!! EMD’s moving out! Love it. GREAT work and terrific insightful info, Brian. Thanks for the hard work. Hi to the pets!
Thanks for watching!
Love everything you do. Keep up the good work and GOD BLESS
Thank you so much!
Every time you start a recording sound of the rainstorm takes priority. It was almost like CSX and NS we're having a contest today and see who could assemble the longest train today. In fact that one merchandise train seemingly got scrap metal cars from every available place in Cincinnati. Rain for Milwaukee tomorrow and Tuesday.
It amazes me the time and talent it takes to do the art work on those auto racks! Someone has a lot of time on their hands!
Thanks for watching!
You're the man JT!
Thanks!
Great video Jaw Tooth! And I libe the Conrail Autorack at 10:56, that is ART!
Thanks for watching!
Hey jaw tooth lots of live action son. Railroad should try to plan ahead for parking trains without blocking crossings . They can be fined for blocking. It's fun listening to detector giving information on trains . Have a great railroad day 🚂🙋♀️
Thanks for watching and commenting Lesa!
When it comes to awesome RR action Jawtooth never disappoints. Great
Job.👍🏼
Thanks again!
@@JawTooth your welcome JT. Take care.👍🏼
I tried to get a job driving one of those concrete slab movers once.

Trains in the rain! You are a true railfan. Thank you for braving the weather. Nice graffiti on that auto rack. Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on. And go dry off
Thanks for watching!
Once the new bypass goes in, you should do a video on it.
I definitely will. I will show the progress of it going in
I hope you didn’t get too wet out there JT but anyway another great video, my friend and thanks for getting out in the rain and bringing us another video to watch today but as always you stay safe out there brother and watch you back and we’ll see you on the next one
Thanks JT, really enjoyed that one!!
Good Sunday morning Brian, I hope you and your family have a blessed day. In Jesus name Amen 🙏🏻

Gm Brian why they call it 7mile nice area cool railroad crossing hope your family is doing well
No clue but it's an easy name to remember. Thanks for being here!
@@JawTooth how long you had your dogs and can't wait you make another video with your granddaughters
There is something about small towns on rainy days. I can’t define just but……
I'm glad you pointed out the defect detector JT! I've seen those shacks before and wondered what they were. Thank you very much!!! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
If there is no defect detector , but there are lights, a bell and barriers, the shed is for the batteries for the the crossing equipment. JT said that in one of his other videos.
@@leecarlson9713 Thanks Lee.
Good morning and quite the nice collection of locations. Thank you.
Hello there!
Thank you for the fabulous video JT! You gave us lots of different types of trains and locations. Nobody can ask for more than that. I just really, really like the paper mill in Hamilton! I sure hope they repurpose the building instead of choosing demolition. Too many old buildings are being lost in the name of "progress". 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
@@JawTooth You're certainly welcome 😁😁!
Afternoon JT, well you don't get better than a start to a video as this, 3 locos & intermodel! Oh fab N/S trains you really year the clickety clack of the 2nd train JT. EXCELLENT video. ❤😊
Many thanks!
Loved the video JT. Always the best! ❤

Nice job on catch those trains jaw tooth keep up the good work on catching those trains
Terrific video JT! Nice catches!

Thank you very much!
It's another GREAT video. Keep them coming down the line. Also liked your recent Cass Steam engines. Have you ever stayed in their "hotel"? As you know, it used to be a company town, and the employee homes are now rented out for folks who visit the train operation.
An excellent CSX mixed freight going past the old paper mill! It had 138 cars more or less including some huge steel slabs to roll into coils, extra long steel beams, and some long steel shapes. Possibly rebar, rounds or angles. Great catch JT! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤ Are the "gondolas" with sides twice as high as normal still gondolas, or are they called something else? Thanks JT! 😊
great video Brian was always...... I also like updates you give on the spots your filming from
Glad you like them!
Those I-beams were really cool. Lots of weight there. And a few square wheels, if the clank, clank is any indication. The coke cars must be heavy, too.
nice
Thanks
When I work for Conrail train engines fuel transfer engineer road a scrap metal train from Boston to Sabina Ohio to the smelter always wonder how far you are from there and your videos are always great changing locations makes them thanks Brian
Very cool! I live 40 miles from Sabina. I filmed a train in the snow there a few years ago. I have that video somewhere but I can't find it. I have a video here from nearby Washington Courthouse, Ohioth-cam.com/video/qicjR-XqFXM/w-d-xo.html
Also, I am thinking about going up that line tomorrow to see if I can get an Indiana & Ohio Railway train there. It used to be B&O but I&O leases it from CSX now. I am told a train is going on duty tomorrow at 8am up there so I want to catch it heading towards Cincinnati. Thanks for watching my videos!
Amazing freight trains! Thanks so much Brian for sharing!

That was cool seeing bnsf on the second train
Thanks for watching!
Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Good morning Brian. There isn't anything respected anymore hardly.
Hello Alan! Thanks for being here
Nice video today Jaw, we appreciate that you are willing to stand out int the cold and rain to bring us train videos!
No problem, I like filming trains no matter what
Given how long it was and how I didn't see a lot of empties on it, I'm a little surprised that the long CSX mixed freight starting at 17:30 didn't have a DPU tacked in somewhere. It still amazes me how much tonnage a locomotive can handle, and I'm old enough to have watched an GP-7 or GP-9 handle100 or more cars out on the road all by itself.
Hope everyone is having a great spring day.
Good catch im british are trains are not as good sadly love watching you though well done
Thank you very much!
Enjoyable as always and informative, thankyou
Glad you enjoyed it
I saw a rail car with the emblem of the new CPKC (Canadian Pacific Kansas City) merger.

And then we have a long CSX auto rack train. Somewhere around 100 to 110 cars. I don't know for sure. A really good train for being auto racks! 😊😊😊❤❤❤

Thats really nice, Great Video.
Thank you very much!
8 March 2024 was a good day for railfanning in Seven Mile, Ohio and Hamilton, Ohio. Jaw Tooth! You caught some interesting trains in both locations. It does not make sense to me to close the railroad crossing at West Elkton Road then make a 3000-foot+ road paralleling the railroad tracks to West Taylor School Road. Why close one crossing and make one entrance to the residential area? It would make more sense to leave the West Elkton Road crossing alone and just add the new road in the farm field to have another way into the residential area when the West Elkton Road crossing was blocked.
Yeah, I don't know. Not sure why they want to close that one. They figure the Taylor School Road access would give cars access to other roads and I guess its unlikely to block that crossing and the other 3 to the east of it. I never could get lucky and have a train stop and block all of these crossings. I think it only happens a few times a year. I will keep everyone updated on this. I also found a driveway to the west of Taylor School Road that gets blocked when trains stop to pass and it has no outlet.
Great report on bypass road, but sure is a long time to wait for the solution. So, four trains in this very fine video, some quite long, and not a single DPU! Isn't that unusual for these main line consists? First train, you figure 50MPH, or faster? Where is your speed gun, JT? What does that road sign "NO ENGINE BRAKE" mean? How is that different from plain old stopping? First one of those I've seen. I've seen previous videos you've shot from that location at 17:00 - I recognize that 4-storey grey building - it must have been a marvel when it was fully operational. Looks like it might have been it a hotel? Stay well and keep these fine videos coming our way.
Kinda like what happened in the town where the trains blocked the roads here in Alberta Canada in a very small town of 500 called Mirror the trains stop right in the middle of the road and people just passing through or trying to get home can wait 30-60 minutes for the train to get going and it’s really annoying
Hi my friend thank you for the train 108 my homme it me Eric 1 love 👍😁👍👍😁👍
