I used to love watching this channel before warhammer. Every day I’d be waiting for an upload. I was sad when heir turned mainly to the warhammer series, as they just generally aren’t good games. Im glad you’re back to uploading Rome 2!

I would argue that most of the Successor States besides Macedon range from decent to good. Both Egypt and Seleucids can just bring a few killing tools and fill out the rest of their build with an absolute horde of cheap units with javelins (Egypt is better at it though). Bactria has great melee cavalry and the 3 Mercenary Scythian Horse Archers. I can't play well enough with Epirus, but they definitely have some interesting builds, and are basically Macedon with Elephants.
I guess that shows how I touch I am because I remember the successor States being some of the more powerful factions because the pike boxes elite skirmish and elephants
Pikes in multiplayer aren't great and elephants are powerful but risky. Almost all the Greek factions have mediocre infantry compared to Rome and the barbarian factions.
@@Montechristoss Rome conquered everyone by spamming heavy swords in real life amongst other factors that are not as important of the game such as high organization and discipline and culture that refused to give up even in the face of total annihilation a
@@aaronrowell6943 yeah that's true but that happened during the second half and the first century ad not at the start of the 3th century which the pyrrhic wars took place pike infantry was the main infantry of that era with heavy shock cavalry and light infantry it's really sad that the developers couldn't fix properly the pikes on the game
Epiris has some pretty interesting elite units but they still struggle as their roster is Greek. Honestly Out Side of Carthage, Egypt, and Masalia all the Greek factions are pretty mediocre.
Well Carthage is not a greek faction but a Punic futhermore l don't think that all of the Greek factions but the game is focus on sword units which is not historically accurate pikes were the main infantry of the era 3th - 2th century ad unfortunately pikes are broken hoplites are underpowered so Celts Romans and Germans are considered the strongest
If you ever go successor/ Greek states in multiplayer on both siege and land battles, Egypt and Seleucid are the only strong options and these 2 factions are rated very high. Massalia is somewhat viable but still risky, Sparta is only good in siege battle on defense side. The rest are just meh

I think Heir of Carthage was trying to branch out in content as Rome 2 is a dying niche

10 years old and still the best Total war game of them all

Bactria is my favorite faction, its always a blast on campaign mode
Thessalian cavalry couldnt match bactrian nobles lol, i saw clean charges even though, despite this shock cavalry lost a fight
