@@KhanWolf95 Oh i believe it he will the first two missions he MIGHT be fine on but once he gets to Bizerte it'll get stupid but the moment im waiting the most is the mission Gela with the Mortar part even now even i still struggle on it
@KhanWolf95 oh man even on normal it was a pain I think I ended up leaning right up against the table with the radio for cover it somewhat worked I’m currently doing breakthrough on hard and I’ll be honest I am quick saving quite a few times it genuinely gets annoying for me especially with the lack of ammo
I played and loved Medal of Honor Allied Assault and it's expansions as a kid, seeing it get attention nowadays warms my heart. Thank you for making these videos. Edit: Corrected a writing mistake, also wanted to say, brace for Breakthrough, it's rough
Its crazy how much nostalgia the song in the beginning of this video gives me. I am fighting back tears lmao the goose bumps and dopamine rush is crazy.
Loved Medal of Honor AA and it's expansions as a kid i still play them today many years later and you making this video really makes me happy that this game still gets the love it needed. i hope you do the rest of the MOH games.
I remember lack of ammo drops being a big problem in Breakthrough, had to redo sections not from lack of health but because I used too much ammo and didn't have enough to continue. 🙈
thats what I thought at first but when I played through it several more times a few years ago I found out that it wasn't that really hard to conserve ammo since the time to kill has been improved (firing bursts from the SMG's kill enemies more rapidly than holding down the trigger)
Let's go! The MOH must continue and I'm so happy to see rising sun on your list, that's the only game I truly remember being so much better than it actually is, I remember super lush jungle and scary Japanese soldiers.
Rising Sun 's Pearl Harbor mission was one of the greatest opening missions of all time and definitely greatest depiction of that attack in gaming (IMHO, of course)
Man i used to get so mad at that when i was a kid even my older brother had issues with it took me years to finally finish it and boy did it feel good finishing i was 4-5 when i played it i finished it when i was 14-15 so yeah long time
@Viper-jr4sp I'm pretty sure when I was younger I beat it through dumb luck right when I was about to fail. I went back recently thinking "yeah im a veteran gamer I'll beat this mission no issues" it still took me a few tries even on normal difficulty.
@@rycroft2557it's actually quite simple, some of the tanks move slower than the others so if you know which ones are slow and which ones are fast you can juggle between targets with the mortars and the bazooka that you have (there's that giant box filled with rocket ammo up there too)

@4T3hM4kr0n I used the bazooka as a sort of panic piece in case a tank got too close. The lack of mortar aiming reticle is rough which i kinda got around by just spamming it and seeing where things landed. He should have an interesting time because the mission before is that airfield stealth mission with the DeLisle carbine that's calm and then just chaos with tanks that'll one shot on hardest difficultly in the next mission. Should be a fun watch.
Oh, yeah. Breakthrough is really the INSANE one. Just a tip to remember - Italian SMG, nuff said. Spearhead did feature some nice monologues that added flavor to the main character, strange that the end-mission monologues didn't play. Also, weird that you never noticed that you can Melee with regular weapons now. :D
Breakthrough is easier in some spots but worse than spearhead in others IMO, and spearhead is really awful in some areas like the rail shooter section and the holdout section in the battle of the bulge
@@everythingsalright1121 that rail shooter section in Breakthrough (Monte Casino) is arguably worse. I was using quicksaves and it still pissed me off so much I rage quit the game for almost a week.
Beretta made a really excellent SMG, but in real life they were held back by shoddy quality magazines. If you had a good mag it was great, if not it was a carousel of failures to feed
Breakthrough has a couple of lovely sections that resemble the original game a bit more. Unfortunately, some of the difficulty in that game comes from enemies NOT dropping ammo on later levels which feels kinda scummy from the developers, but it should be a fun ride.
I found your channel from your Cod1 playthrough and have watched all your old cod videos now. My grandpa had cod1 and Medal of Honor on his pc when I was growing up and I’d spend the night playing those games with him and watching the history channel, it’s what turned me into a ww2 nerd like him. It’s so much fun to watch someone play through games that were so important to my childhood. Thanks for keeping these videos up and keeping the classics alive!
THIS WAS THE IRST FPS GAME I EVER PLAYED when I was 4 y/o. on my dads Windows XP family computer. Bro. This brought back so many memories from my early childhood! I love this series!!
S0ur, great videos for sure. I love that you're going through Medal of Honor. It seems like it's a forgotten series nowadays when I tell friends about it. By far the hardest of the set, for me anyways.. Keep it up. Can't wait to see more.
I'm so glad Sour kept going with this series. Breakthrough is awesome, I remember finding it so tough as a kid. I hope it's still as good as I remember.
Love it Sour! If you ever fancy dipping your toes in the Wolfenstein franchise, I think you’d have a blast playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein on the hardest difficulty
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO dude i watched the first part like 3 times no lie, i thought we were never gonna get another game as difficult as that one but here we are
Loving these vids! I used to play competitive MOHAA:SH when I was younger - there was a console command for multiplayer to allow leaning while moving, which was a large part of the meta.
12:14 you do that "whoauwowuaow" battle cry so incredibly well. It's so weird hearing anything even REMOTELY similar to that yell in anything besides that game so this was uncanny lol
Also spearhead was developed by the franchise creator’s, where as breakthrough was done by a studio that, would work on multiplayer for the next PC MOH, and they would close doors after that.
26:30 That on-rails section almost made me cry as a kid it was so hard. I guess I didn't even think about restarting the mission and really wanted to force my way through with low health. I don't know how but I did make it through after 20+ tries.
I don't know how you did it, but the render range you had during your game was ridiculous. Normally it is much larger. Browsing through tasks using the TAB key also gives you a good overview of the situation, and some of the hints are only provided in dialogues, not suddenly hanging somewhere on the screen like in CoD.
The on-rails halftrack and the "lose the line because one guy who died instantly got across" parts were easily some of the most frustrating experiences I ever had. And yeah Spearhead is easier than the base game and Breakthrough. It was really just those two parts that really stand out, and the last section in the tank.
Oh boy, I can't wait for Breakpoint. It lures you with a sense of game being like the other two, but then you realise that enemies don't drop ammo for some reason.
I remember breakthrough being difficult, there's a vehicle section that is a pain but it's been years since I played it and this is making me want to go back. Any chance you'll tackle Airborne? That game was a gem.
21:44 got through this campaign as a kid countless times and i never knew you could keep your original weapon after getting a new one of the same type. That just makes the amount of weapons you can carry even more ridiculous
This was one of the first things I discovered when I started playing MoHAA as a kid. There is probably only one such location in Allied Assault, but they are scripted differently in the expansions. And I'm talking about the MP40 from the first mission, the one you pick up right after recapturing the Major is hard coded as your new weapon. How do I know this? Just skip the two MP40s that appear after the enemies in the earlier stage and take Captain Thomson, from now on you have Thomson and in a moment you will get the MP40 from the place mentioned above. Subsequent games scripted their pickups more. The Spearhead Shotgun you pick up in front of the Hotel appears (with a message) before you physically touch the model leaning against the wall. Once I even managed to pick up a Kar98 right next to a T-34 tank in Berlin, there was a 100% visible message that the weapon had been picked up, but at the same time it moved to the next stage.
Battle of the bulge on hard is brutallll. You're the only other person i know whos beat it. My friends gave up and so did i for a time before returning and eventually beating it
The MOH games were such a big part of my childhood, I remember playing tons of splitscreen co-op with my brother on the PS2. Almost every game had something to do in local multiplayer, especially Rising Sun. If you have some extra time in your video covering that game, I really hope you'll try out fighting against bots on one of the multiplayer maps. There's this one bot that you're able to select, Bromley if I remember correctly, and he made winning very difficult
I am looking forward to him, getting to MoH Airborne. Me and my Dad actually breezed through the game in the Highest Difficulty at some point. THough even then, the last Mission The Flak Tower only was doable at the end by spamming Gammon Grenades.

The expansions run only in like 4:3 or something similar definitely not fullscreen! Much appreciated!
There are a few unofficial patches and mods, but I found by far the easiest to be the MOHAA Community Launcher, can search for it & see it on moddb. Made it very easy to set the install path of the game and set a custom resolution before launching.
Now it gets a little harder. Breakthrough however.. Now that's where things get interesting. I'm a veteran of this game for more than 16 years now, playing multiplayer very often, but if one game can destroy me? It would be Breakthrough. Gawd, dang it! The lack of ammo drops and extremely frustrating combat sections. Still makes it the least favorite Expansion of many people, including me. It's quite interesting why did they put that halftrack with pzb41 gun be almost automatic, considering that it was semi-auto breachloader irl 28 mm squezebore gun.
I think a lot of the nostalgia for spearhead comes from the multi-player, I know it had a strong online community for like 10 years. Cuz yeah that single player wasn't anything too special lol
