When I was 9 yrs. old, I started playing the piano. Although I was a young pianist, I absolutely loved Gladys Knight & The Pips. I learned how to play all of their songs. I still love her today. Her songs are timeless. By the time I attended the University, Gladys Knight & The Pips, had become superstars. So, they no longer performed on the small intimate stage. They performed on the Headliners' big stage. Back in the day, the only black entertainer that was hired to perform as a Headliner, was Bill Cosby. He preformed exclusively at Harrahs Casino. For decades, the Casinos in Reno, NV, didn't hire black entertainers. Finally, in the early 70s, they started hiring black entertainers. My best friend and I, saw all of their shows. Gladys Knight & The Pips, always gave unbelievable energy and incredible performances! The Pips' harmony and dance routines were second to none. We were so excited! During one of their shows, my Mom was w/me. They were performing on a small stage. One of Gladys' earrings fell practically in my lap. We always sat at one of the front row tables & seats that were very close to the stage. I was so excited that I was holding Gladys' Knight's earring! When her earring dropped, she continued singing like the pro she is. I asked my Mom, do you think she'll let me keep it? My Mom laughed & said, no. Mom, was right. When they finished their song, Gladys, looked at me and leaned down and politely asked, 'may I have my earring?' Obviously, I said yes 😂. She's such a wonderful & warm person. A phenomenal vocal talent. She didn't act like a Diva. The Pips, could dance their azzes off. They invited my friend and I, to hang out with them because they saw us at all of their shows. They were so cool & respectful. When they became huge stars, they only performed on the Headliners' stage. The room was huge. My friend and I, couldn't afford to sit at the tables near the stage. But, we were so proud to see them on the Headliners' stage. To this day, I still play all of their songs on my keyboards & Playlist. Her songs are timeless. Gladys Knight, is one of the greatest vocalist to ever grace a stage. I love her incredible voice! I'm one of her biggest fans! May God continue blessing her. 🛐🎼🎹🎤🔥🔥🔥💯🫶🏾❤️💙💙💙🎤🎤🎤🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
