I watched it, with my wife. We really liked it, it’s new, original, and not some old tired reboot or remake. It’s nice to see Neal, back on the screen again. The man has morals, and I like him as a villain. Although, the role I really liked him in was when he played Lt Buck Compton.

This movie dates back to a short story written in 2006 and a short film based on that short story that was made in 2015. The script for the feature film, based on the short film, was written in 2018/2019. None of it was made with any awareness of the shifting community. These comments are amazing.

Just wanted to add that while some people are claiming that "Shifting" was invented or got popular around 2020 on tiktok(?!)
...that term has been used for various sci-fi concepts for as long as it has been a genre.
Try googling the plot for the 2009 movie "Push" & you'll see that a "Shifter" is one of the types of characters
There's also a TV series called "Shifter" (2019)
...and the Heroes tv series (2006) featured "Shifting"
...not to mention, comics have called different things "Shifting" or certain characters "Shifters" with the ability to "Shift"
This is yet another fictional (allegorical) story turned into a movie with its own definition of "Shifting" & is not based on the community that happens to also use this term (for something else entirely).
Let's not forget Steve McQueen in 1968's Bullit: he was a heck of a "shifter" in that. (Any good street racer was up until this last decade!) 🤔 😅
This film is its own thing & looks good! It's like the 2001 Jet Li film "The One", but with a major twist à la "The Devil's Advocate" (1997) 😯
