You are 100% right, that group are not the pioneers no matter how much their fans claim so. Old Kpop fans all know this. The problem is that many new kpop fans don't have any respect for older groups. One thing I've always loved about suju is that they always acknowledged the first generation groups and taught ELF to do so as well. I love your reactions btw and I hope that eventually you'll react to their varieties because you'll fall even harder in love with them :)

Super Junior were selling out concert tour in latin America before that group even debuted. Let's not forget about them being the 1st kpop group to have their own concert in Europe, 1st kpop group to have a concert in many asian countries and even years later they still were the 1st kpop group to perform in Saudi Arabia. 😌👑👍

super junior is a unique group, they put sweat, tears and their heart for 15 years and counting, they were the first to bring kpop to latin america, france and the rest of asia, they always try to deliver the best if their fans, their concerts seem more private parties with elf than just singing on stage and everything is mixed with a touch of humor and fun
I have been in 2 sushow. I can compeletely agree with you. Its our party. Since its not an idol performance. Its they deliver and we accept. And both parties enjoy the moment together.

Super Junior is pretty much loved by fans. since before debut To the point that fans protested, SM intervened many times when SJ was in trouble. Even bought some SM shares, bought it to negotiate the fans' dissatisfaction and fully protect SJ, and if Super Junior is in danger, the elf will immediately become a mother bear
What I really love about them is that they never lose sight of their beginnings. It keeps them grounded. And I truly love how they always credit the ones who came before them, the 1st generation of K-Pop such as H.O.T, Seckskies, Shinhwa, and the ones behind every success such as their staff and dancers. They maintained a healthy competition with their friends in the K-Pop industry like TVXQ, SNSD, BigBang, 2PM, 2AM and other 2nd generation groups. They also don't forget to support their hoobaes. Siwon has mentioned before they want the younger K-Pop groups to succeed for a long time, as SuJu has, because they know how difficult it is. By staying active together for almost 20 years, they hope that they can inspire their hoobaes, too. I think that by setting that example, E.L.F. have learned also to embrace or warm up to every group that SuJu interacts with.
Had this conversation last night while out drinking with the girls. That group that shall not be named is nothing but a coattail rider. Basically the entire 3rd generation and follows is just living in the GLORY of 2nd generation hardwork and accomplishments. I blame SM for this because Super Junior was the first to conquer the international world winning awards and breaking records but it was never promoted. So the public overlook SuJu in many aspect.

Suju are special. The amount of times they have bowed towards the audience. I have so much respect for them and what they have accomplished. They are humble and don't let the fame get to their head. Anyone that is willing to give them a chance ends up falling for them.

In the crown the lyrics "beyond being the first and becoming the best" are so powerfull because YES SJ are the kings of the hallyu wave. But they are not conformed with that, they want to be more than having the label of been the first and they are proving that with their amazing dedication.

I am so touched with comments you left😭 yes, It was they that paved the road. I feel upset whenever the young say "go away, the old!". They don't know how tough time they have endured and made their "young" idols go easily. (Of course, they are still perfect Idols! How rude they are! So many fans in the world want to see them on the stage!!)

I’m really glad that you said that ;; I don’t care if people kept saying _that_ group is the biggest in the kpop world and whatsoever. Even though it’s not. But they went as far as denying FACTS. You see, Super Junior came to Saudi Arabia in 2019. At that year, Saudi Arabia has just recently started allowing concerts at all. And Suju were the first kpop group to have a concert in Saudi Arabia. It was _in a tent!_ Big enough for maybe 2000 people. Sold out in a couple of hours. They made the best performance, made a lot of memories with us ELF, Heechul even said it reminded him of SS1 because of all the memories we made. It was not befitting legends like them, we honestly elf were mad at the organizers of the concert, but all anger went away after the beautiful beautiful memories we made and really a tent wasn’t bad at all since we felt the closest to them 🥺❤️ and they were as happy as us and gave their all in the performance. They performed at the level of any Super Show in a big stadium. Anyway, they accepted to perform even in a tent with stage that was just set up in the day they arrived. Not at all befitting for legends like them. Yet Leeteuk kept his promise to come to Saudi. A promise he made in 2009 when it was impossible for anyone to make a concert there cuz it was banned. But he came as soon as it was possible. They weren’t scared to come even though it was no doubt a new territory for them. They came to meet their fans first and also paved the way for other artists to come as they always do. They knew it’s their job and if they don’t come first no one else will. Stray kids also came, suju gave them a portion of their concert and they performed a few songs. But Suju did a whole Super Show. It was SS7s. They even adjusted some of their choreography so it is appropriate to perform in a conservative country. Like.. who does that?! T_T They’re just so amazing and really care for their fans. Any other group would just refuse to perform there if they were given restrictions and were asked to change there choreos, cuz it’s not easy. ANYWAY, A few months after, _that_ group came and performed in Saudi Arabia too. In a stadium. With 30,000 fans. And after that, EVERYONE kept saying that “bts is the first kpop group to perform a concert in Saudi Arabia”. EVERYONE. TV news, Newspapers, Tv shows, in both Saudi Arabia AND KOREA. Like SS7s never happened!! How DISRESPECTFUL! It’s so frustrating. I know for a fact that bts and any other group would have never come if suju hadn’t come first and made it possible for them. That made me upset for a while:( But I know suju don’t care because they know there’re legends. They know their worth and have nothing to prove to anyone. But yeah, Super Junior are obviously the true pioneers, and will always be. Kings. 💙
Can I say ... thank you for your information. SUJU were pictured in the stadium so ELF thought that was where the show would be. Many ELF had questions about why SJ were stopped/redirected (whatever) from having their SS7 in the stadium and ended up in the tent. We were all so 'hurt' to see our men like that but as you said, they love us and obviously cared enough to do their best .. as always. That is why we love and respect them.
One of the reasons I really love SuJu is that they are very humble people. They may joke about their fame and their greatness sometimes but they do stay grounded. Maybe it's because they fought with sweat, tears, and blood that they value their roots and are proud of where they come from and where they are now.
I didn’t notice that tears were streaming down my face while you were talking about how SJ is a pioneer. you see, our fandom has been belittled, mocked and disregarded just because according to them we support the wrong group. No matter what others say we will always stand by Super Junior. We might have disagreements within the fandom and sometimes it gets a little overwhelming but at the end of the day we are more than Everlasting Friends. We are Everlasting Family.

We somehow know that they're humble n professional in their work because a lot of people in the Korean entertainment industry (idols, celebrities, staff) say so, people older or younger than them. Though they can be chaotic n noisy but their own staff (managers, stylists, dancers) have been working with them for years, even decades. In some variety shows or their own vlogs you can see how they tease and treat their staff like their own fam. They are loved not only by Elf but also by people working for n with them.
Super Junior has been through a lot. I know I’ve repeated myself in a lot of various TH-cam comments, but there really is no band or fandom that have as much mutual love for each other as much as Super Junior and ELF. There have been two devastating car crashes. One that almost cost the youngest his life and voice. We’ve seen members leave due to poor treatment from the company and/or toxic fans. Poor Leetuek has been through things no one should ever face and he’s always put his group and fans first and I just have so much respect and admiration for him as a human being let alone the best leader in kpop. I could go on but I’ll stop before I start getting too emotional and sentimental 😅. Again, thank you for your reaction!

Oh yes they are bunch of smart people with variety of skills thats why they have may different songs and genres but still have a touch of Super Junior Style song in it and they dare to try new things, like new genre and collaborations. When I first attended Super Show 8 (Super Show is the name of SuJu concert) when Superman was played. I feel like I can't breathe. It felt so surreal and dramatic hahaha well they aren't SuJu if they're not dramatic and passionate when it comes to performance, singing, and having fun. That's what they do best. I agree that it’s the passion for the performance and the music but also the brotherhood, (even separate from the relationship between them and ELF) Superman and The Crown I’ve learned kind of highlight that the brotherhood is what makes them stronger and helps the confidence on stage. It may come off as cockiness because it’s beyond the relationship with ELF but they can look to each other even in the middle of a song and be like “Hyung you good?”
What I will say about *that* group, is it's understandable to say they paved their own way to fame, but the way many of their fans spin the narrative to suggest they paved the way for all kpop idols is simply not true. Not even in the region people say they pioneered. They've paved some way that worked well for them, and that's fine. It's also fine that some groups are following that path as well hoping to achieve similar accolades, but there is only so far they can run with it.
Super Junior has true confidence. They aren't bothered by disrespect because they don't need to prove anything. They just do what they always do, and the haters fall behind. Superman and The Crown are the exceptions where they humbly brag about this fact.

When you said something about pioneers it reminds me of their old song where they basically representing South Korea as a country, "Victory Korea" (for World Cup if I'm not wrong) and "Seoul" feat. SNSD (to boost tourism). Definitely should check them out 😁

My first time watching Super Junior’s super show was the Super Junior’s Beyond Super Show last year on VLive . They opened with this song and i was just… no words could described how I felt. And yeah i also had that feeling you described..i just joined a cult.. except I couldn’t put into words 😅
Im so glad you said that about "that" group, because same. It was something that had to be said. 1st gen groups created kpop and set the foundations of what the genre would be and 2nd gen groups like tvxq, suju, shinee, big bang... helped shape it
Couldn"t agree more to everything you have said about them... these guys are the pioneers, or named among the pioneers of Kpop.. coz we still have the 1st gen groups that opened the gate china, and BOA & TVXQ that opened the way to Japan, and SJ opened the gate to all countries.. and what I love about them is they always mentioned and acknowledged their respects to their seniors, which you know these acknowledgement rarely happens now a days.

I agree, I found k-pop from that newer group, I shazam-ed a song on an advert and it brought me into this whole other world I didn't know about. Luckily did my research though, it's SuJu over everyone for me. Everything they've been through over the years and they're now absolute legends. Incredible.

I just discovered your channel with this video, and I have to say, all your thoughts made me so happy! I've been an ELF since 2009, (back when practically no one in the US knew what Kpop was LOL). I was in high school when I discovered them, and now I'm almost 30. I feel almost like I've grown up with them. LOL I've seen all the hardships they've gone through, so these songs always have so much meaning when I hear them. It was so nice hearing your lovely thoughts on the "paving the way" topic. Unfortunately, a lot of younger fans don't give the older groups the respect they deserve... (and I'm not referring to just SJ, but the 1st generation groups like Shinhwa and H.O.T.) You are right unfortunately most of kpop stans think that kpop started with their favorite groups and starting making wars everywhere but kpop is known all around the world because of super junior and we have proofs 😌 voting, charts, streaming .....ect Was not important in that time (I'm talking about 2005 to 2010) but suju is the gate of this industry they present them as hallyu wave kings they were just phenomenal comparing them to 2nd Gen and if you are new kpoper I'm not waiting you to understand what I'm saying the group who spreaded Korean pop to the world is super junior hands up 😌

Love your reaction videos as usual :) Your videos made me feel like listening to a friend and learning more about the bands together in an open-minded, calm, and mature manner. It's nice that you also talk about how your perception or opinions on certain things changed the more you learn about the bands as it is a good reminder that what we see from these talented and hard-working artists are only one side of their talents and who they are. I felt that many Kpop fans are often stuck with the (often unrealistic) specific 'image' of the idols which actually render these idols' ability to challenge themselves and grow as an artist. For Super Junior, it might have been a blessing that they started off as project group since people and SM had no expectation for them which allow them to be able to cultivate very fluid image of themselves and their band compare to the typical bands whose image were already carefully planned and set before debut which can be very hard to change.
I love the way you said the truth, the fact after you watched SuperMan. That really touch me, not many people can say that. Appreciate, will follow your channel.
From the project group of the camp, the training period is 6-7 months, a group of people with diverse abilities come to practice together. Then it suddenly became a permanent group because of the fans. It's incredible, isn't it? they were born to be Super Junior born to be a legend

I can't say I like Kpop because I only listen to 2 groups/bands (Suju and CNBLUE). After finding them, I thought: Ok, maybe I'm ready to listen to 'that group' and see what all the people see/feel, I have tried several times through different approaches (mv, interviews, concerts) and it is impossible to find in them the level of charisma, power and confidence of Suju.💙

There r few othr grls older than them & around their age that r still standing strong but to d wide range of shccess in d whole entertainment industry..they r kn top..+ d consistency & all throughout all these yrs. & yes, solo, sub-units & collabs included .. I akwys listen in shuffle so every tym these songs r on, they make me fele so empowered & encouraged. Very doff kind of songs but I'm in luv w/ them jst as much w/ d othr types..esp when u watch d live..haha..yes, girl! They r d pioneers to soreading kpop in d world, thru them kpop reached d other side lf d world..no one ckuld deny that, d grp u'r refering maybe d most popular today but they jst continued what these supermen started... & d times & techonology is w/ them, so it's a bit easier to b known..unlike going back 10+ yrs ago..imagine how great it isbto b known worldwide w/ such limited opportunities . You are 100% very correct that that certain group are not the first to make kpop very well known around the world. Sure they are very popular now because they are young but Super Junior and other 2nd generation groups made kpop well known not only in Asia but around the world
