Carlos Mejia I sucked at the first Demon Souls I thought the game was a never-ending being in front of the castle over and over and over again. until I opened that first shortcut and I was like I think the game is achievable now. I have played every game in the soul series including demon souls and blood-borne bought the PS4 just for blood-borne and for Dark Souls 3 I don't care if it has a PC version I prefer the PS4 version. Mentioned too many things that players should've read from the tutorials. Here are tips to survive that many people just don't know: 1.immediately start on spirit stat getting all the passives your spirit can give because these are more powerful than boosting that attack from 20 to 23. 2.By offering items to the shrine you also have a chance to acquire more elixirs. 8 is the max limit you can hold normally and it refills to 8 instead of 3 if you have extras. 3.Kodama blessing also has a passive to acquire elixirs easier. 4.The oasis spell summons a healing pool that can actually heal you fully, saving your elixirs for later. Grab it. 5.You're weight % plays a big role in how good you can manage ki.
at first, its difficult fighting all the enemies because of low rarity gear and weapons but honestly, this game is all about patience. keep leveling up and choose the good build setup armors and the rest becomes a bit easier to manage. i almost gave up playing nioh but after slaughtering onryoki, then chopping dwellers, skeleton soldiers and yokis apart, it got easier for me how to manage ki and different stances. overall, this is a challenging game and not for the player who doesnt believe in the way of the bushido. ;) ^___^
Never played Dark Souls or Bloodborne because I saw/heard how difficult they can be. I'm by no means a casual gamer who plays 2K, Madden, or COD here and there. I just like to have fun and enjoy myself when gaming so I avoided these titles. However I've put maybe 2-3 hours into this demo and as frustrated as I get (like I figured) it is an amazingly designed game. Gonna play all weekend to see if I can beat it and make my final decision on whether to buy it or not.
If you like this game definitely get the Souls. They're challenging, but much easier than this game. If you do get them, start with Demon's Souls, then Dark Souls, then Bloodborne, then DkS3.
Almost finished downloading the beta. Thank you for this video it gave me a better understanding of the game. Ive been curious about the game for awhile, because it just showed snap shots of the game in pre order now PS4 menu. The game looks amazing.
I played the beta when it first came out and thought it was hard as hell and could only beat bosses with a friend but after playing a few other games in the genre and playing the Nioh 2 beta for 14 hours and playing against *maeda toshiie,* the first boss for Nioh 1 seemed ridiculously easy and slow. As long as you watch your ki and make sure you use your explosives, projectiles and magic items and don’t rush things then you should be fine
Dude is a white man, a Samurai, has Ninja abilities, he can cast Magic and he has spirit animal friends and he still get messed up by the first soldier on the map. Can't wait!
sniperkitty 3000xx He didn't say more badass but still the guy in history was the first ever Englishmen to sail to Japan and yet was made a samurai, went on to serve in a shoguns court, get the title Hatamoto, captain several ship expeditions, be granted a huge estate with waves of servants, and go down as one of the most influential foreigners during this time period... that's pretty badass. I wish I could just go to Europe and come out Knighted with a castle.
actually you get samurai skill points through the proficiency of the type of weapon you are using. flip through your status screen and you will see weapon proficiency. Ninja and magic i still haven't figure out how and if you get skill points outside of leveling and items
+KingBoro That's familiarity, isn't it? Unless you mean something else. You can also pick up consumable items that give you magic, ninja and samurai points.
proficiency covers all the weapons of the type. when you get a samurai skill point a text pops up saying the proficiency with swords has increased. there is an item called a whetstone that increases the familiarity with your currently equipped weapons by 150, i used them to reach maximum with a couple 900 familiarity weapons but did not gain a samurai point. I looked at the status window and flipped a couple pages and noticed proficiency bars to each weapon type. did a lot of testing and playing around in the last trial demo to figure out the system and much like rob become overleved to beat bosses without trying so hard. there is also specific armor sets like in the witcher 3 that if you equip a certain number of that set you gain some stat buffs. also its good to hoard a load of weapons for the blacksmith to soul merge them. I took a rare level 15 weapon and made it level 29 through the soul merge
Just played through the entire trial. Using the same weapon type can give you a samurai point, where as using the same specific weapon increases familiarity.
yup pretty much and the rate you will get from using the same weapon time gets slower and slower. this is how the game encourages you to try different weapons since as far as i can see there is no stat requirement for the weapon types
PlayStation Access? I love you right now! You drawed my attention to the "last chance"-beta. I literally absorbed the alpha and beta and pre-ordered the game instantly. I would have totally missed this last beta.

You guys are the best. I played the last beta. You guys just talked me into playing this one again to learn chi pulse. I am also interested in the chain weapon. But I'll probably end up with an axe + spear build when the game comes out.
@@chrisven899 I'm building my character to beat the first real boss onryoki at the moment. I'm not the best at these games but am finding this one more intuitive.
@@chrisven899 I just did it. Definitely level up with some grinding and he goes down fairly easy. Best bet is to let him attack, dodge in, get a few hits in and dodge back out. Watch out for the form change as he does a dive attack that wipes you out and when he is down to about a third of his health, use your living weapon.
I've been swapping stances the second I started playing. The moveset of the Kusarigami really encourages it as even right from the get-go the varying movesets have quite a lot of utility.
Started playing Nioh a couple of days ago and I just found the old Dark Souls style critical back stab when you creep up behind someone! An absolute 'must have' skill (why it isn't just a default move like in DS I don't know). It's in the ninja tree btw :-). One horrible thing I've also found out the hard way is that Nioh doesn't save your game status if you quit the game during a mission (like DS does), I'd cleared the whole of the Deserted Village and opened the gate, I didn't want to pray at the shrine as that resets all the bad guys so I just quit as I had to go out; when I loaded the game again the bloody gate was locked and I had to do the entire mission again!! ARRGGHH!
i played around with the ninja and magic stats, they work the same way any other stat does, a higher ninjutsu stat will cause higher damage with ninja items, and higher magic will make magic items stronger, it doesnt affect length of buffs or debuffs though, which is disappointing, but if you specialize in dexterity you can stop using weapons as your main and just use kunai or even makeshift bombs to completely destroy your enemies. at level 50 i used a level reset item to change where my stats were, and with 50 points in dexterity a single kunai can do around 400+ damage. and at that level you get around 30 ninjutsu capacity points to set your jutsus. it is very possible to completely main as a ninja or onmyoshu, try and stack the unlimited ninja or unlimited onmyosho stat on your gear if you do decide to do that as it will reduce the likelihood of consuming your respective ammo, im not sure if you can stack it up to 100%, but if you can that would make you never have need of conventional weapons, unless of course youre an onmyosho that likes to use the elemental buff weapons scrolls.
i have played the alpha and the first beta missed this weekends beta, but that is fine. I am really excited for this game i cant wait till it fully launchs and i can sit down and play the full version!!!
Having played through Dark Souls 1-3 and Bloodborne, I'm looking forward to this. Really hope the story is up to par but at least the gameplay seems interesting.
+Troy Montana I'm a fan of the Soulsborne games, and Bloodborne is my favorite of them all. I would even rank it as one of my favorite games of all time.
did anyone else notice while he was in the spirit menu screen there is 10 or more guardian spirits available? not sure if this is new news but thats awsome!
Haha, i just wrote a comment that i craved a new Nioh vid and here it is. I really looking forward for this game, since i thought that Dark Souls 3 was a dissapointment and didn't still my hunger. Time to dust off my PS4.
I was already used to the mechanics when i played Dks1, so you can't blame it on that. And personally for me, the souls games is about getting challenged.
Andreas Edborg I was too and that's why I felt the reputation of DkS1 was erroneously attributed. The game's strength wasn't just being punishing but fair, that was just one of the aspects that made the series.
Loved the demo!!! Really looking forward to game! There is a harder than normal learning curve, I got all the way to the end of the demo only to die like 50 times on the final boss lady lol!
I loved the demo but my only problem is playing as Nioh. I hope he plays a great role in the story because if his role is miniscule then I'd greatly appreciate making my own character; even if I never get to see his face due to the types of helmets. I hope I get proven wrong. See yall when it comes out!
Some of this info is outdated for the Last Chance beta... You don't choose anything when you start anymore, but you get one of every weapon. I'm really struggling with the Ogress boss. She has shitton of health and has very few openings...
Ogress is easy. Dodge to her right (your left) when she attacks and hug her body. Try to circle behind her and get ready to dodge out of range when your ki is running low. Attack as you see fit.
I brushed this game off for a long time until I recently decided to check it out with the Last Chance Trial. I really like it a lot and I'm glad I tried it. In terms of the Souls games I've only ever played Bloodborne, and I can't help but notice how similar this game is to it in so many ways, and that's a good thing. I expected it to be a bit easier but instead I found it to be just as punishing and brutal as BB. Really think I'm gonna spring for the early purchase.
I want to watch this because I'm healthily obsessed with this game, but I feel like if I do I won't be able to have the whole experience when it comes out. So I'll just leave a like for support and get back once I've finished it XD
This takes most of its mechanics from Dark souls, which is not a bad thing, and yet has enough nuances( from its story telling to skill trees) to be considered more than just a clone. I enjoy games with a high learning curve and intense challenge. This game looks to be one to watch in 2017
Welcome to Valhalla Yeah the dodging is not like Dark Souls or Bloodborne. It's taking me a while to get used to that. Block is way way more important in this game than in the Soulsborne games.
You have Iframes when dodging, but only at the very start. In souls you tend to have Iframes through the whole thing besides the very end. In the Last Chance Demo that came out today the boss has a fire breath attack that you have to run away from or dash through.
Sparda Oh that's cool, while I like iFrames they feel really OP, especially in DS3 and DS1. Having a few at the start of the animation instead of 10+ during the whole thing should be good. Even Better if it's only for low stance.
Low stance gives you more technically because you travel further. I'm not an expert but I think low has 5 frames medium has 4 and high has 3. However low stance dodge is a fast dash for dodging, mid is a slower dash, and high is a slower roll. Also with high stance if you dodge you can sort of make a quarter circle during your dodge to get to an enemies side. I like how it works especially since stance switching is instant so you can perfect ki pulse and switch stance to flux in order to get even more stamina back and optimize dodging. The technical skill ceiling is high in this game.
The weight is important Too, if you are on Yellow weight that means you are more slow, recover stamina slower, so is better to invest on stamina early on.
After playing the Alpha and Beta I will tell you about the Difficulty from playing the game coming playing the Souls and Bloodborne game The game is hard BUT it's FAIR,...because enemies have the same system as you,If you're out of Stamina you're going to be tired and THIS also applies to enemies if they are out of stamina.Yes enemies hit HARDER but if you take advantage of their stamina you'll actually be having a Great Time clearing out them. I say try the Demo first because I understand that this may not be for everyone,I'm just giving some of the feedback after playing the Alpha and Beta
Watched a couple of game plays played first beta not bothering with the 2nd one just waiting for the release now cant wait to get tortured by this game. As a souls and bloodborne fan this is a must for me
looks intresting but I am looking forward to horizon zero dawn and for honor more. I just never got into the souls series the gameplay just felt kinda dull and there was not really a story. that's just my opinion though
spartan kitty games There is a story in Nioh. It's nothing like From Software's dark fantasy action-RPGs. Their story is minimal but Nioh is rich. Many, many cutscenes.
Loved the beta, it is a really challenging game but not unfair. About ki recovery for me it's all about rhythm, after a couple of hours with the same weapon I kinda knew by instinct how many attacks/dodging I could do before pressing R1, luckly because those visual clues are non-existent to my eye, I'm always too focused on the enemy to notice them 😆. My only complaint so far is about the world, it looks a bit flat but of course it's JUST the beta so I'll wait to see the complete game (or maybe Miyazaki-san has spoiled me a bit with his level design and Art direction). Can't wait to play it!! Ps: I would have liked to create my own character, it feels missing.
I loved the Double Katana in the Beta. Especialy the Block+Triangle Tornado like Skill in the High Stance. The Game went from Hard to Easy. But will this be in the Final Game? or will it be nerfed?
i'm going katana/dual katana and spear (seems like you get more than enough samurai points for that) while side specing in ninjutsu, cause g'damn the poison shurikens and bombs are amazing. plus that tree gives more elixers so... more healing is always good! and may dabble in onmyou depending on whats in there (yes... i am the type of player that usually goes jack of all trades master of none till i get end game NG+++ where i have everything mastered lol i just like having as many options open as possible)
I honestly really didn't get a real feel that the game had specific builds or anything. Felt like going jack of all trades here really was no problem.. But still, the skill reset option is there, so maybe the full game has more options?
Best tip of all sickle&chain triangle button hold skill where you channel your inner scorpion to cheese every single revenant the game will ever throw at you XD
Coming from someone who gave up on playing a few souls games in bloodborne, I find Nioh way easier - played the Alpha, Beta & demo for quite a few hours much more than all the Souls games in that combined & have preordered Nioh :)
Saai Shankar oh i switched over to blood-borne without a hitch because I played both Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls and gave up on Dark Souls 2 because I found Dark Souls II bad compared to Dark Souls 1 and Demon Souls. did not beat Dark Souls 2 until I got the PS4 version. bloodborne is the game that got me onto the PS4.
I'm already through all of the demo but I think I did something wrong... I did the twilight mission naked because the ki was annoying me too much with armor
Here's a question, can I get this game for my PS4 Slim and it will run at a native 60fps or is it one of those cases where I need to get the "pro" for the best experience like "The Last Guardian"
Finished the trial in 2 and a half hours with only 4 deaths. I finished even the twilight stage very easily... The boss was good but has easy movesets when you'll get used to it. Anyways, it was a good little taste until its release. I'M HYPED.

thanks for this video you guys I watch somebody play today without knowing any of this stuff and it didn't go well thanks again nice video :-)
Having played through Dark Souls 1-3 and Bloodborne, I'm looking forward to this. Really hope the story is up to par but at least the gameplay seems interesting.
FireTalon24 same but I plan on picking up dark souls tho
Which? 1?
FireTalon24 I didn't mean to put dark souls lol. I meant picking up Bloodborne. I heard it's better than Dark Souls .
+Troy Montana I'm a fan of the Soulsborne games, and Bloodborne is my favorite of them all. I would even rank it as one of my favorite games of all time.
+Tom Nerva Completely agree. Love the series and Bloodborne is easily one of my favourite games of all time.
I'm loving the art style. It's like a breath of fresh air compared to how similar BloodBorne and Dark Souls were.
Hahaha similar really? The only thing common is the game engine
Bought this yesterday. Enjoying the beating I'm often receiving and sometimes dishing out.
Yep, the spirit animals have sold me. Buying ASAP
Did you beat the game or give up?
did anyone else notice while he was in the spirit menu screen there is 10 or more guardian spirits available? not sure if this is new news but thats awsome!
I like it when it's got a lock-on for the attack. It's alright to ask for help!
Haha, i just wrote a comment that i craved a new Nioh vid and here it is. I really looking forward for this game, since i thought that Dark Souls 3 was a dissapointment and didn't still my hunger. Time to dust off my PS4.
How was DkS3 disappointing? I thought it was great. True, it is like a mix n mash of the previous games but it still has its merits.
I don't wanna sound lika a elitist douche. But i thought that Dks3, just like Dks2, was too easy. I didn't feel challenged enough.
Andreas Edborg Well that's because you're already used to the mechanics. Souls games aren't about being hard (except DkS2).
Who's here from buying the nioh collection 2021?
I loved the demo but my only problem is playing as Nioh. I hope he plays a great role in the story because if his role is miniscule then I'd greatly appreciate making my own character; even if I never get to see his face due to the types of helmets. I hope I get proven wrong. See yall when it comes out!
bboymonk3y you mean William
bboymonk3y the protagonist is the first Western Samurai in history and his name is 'William Adams'....
bboymonk3y From the trailers I think that he (William) will be a key main character in the plot.
XwedodahLover kinky to get the
XwedodahLover kohl to the house yiyh55 to the re d fd the boys
Helpful, cheers guys!
playing this on PC without a controller, to reconfigure the control setting is a mind f*ckery.
Some of this info is outdated for the Last Chance beta... You don't choose anything when you start anymore, but you get one of every weapon.
I'm really struggling with the Ogress boss. She has shitton of health and has very few openings...
Info based on the full game...
Ogress is easy. Dodge to her right (your left) when she attacks and hug her body. Try to circle behind her and get ready to dodge out of range when your ki is running low. Attack as you see fit.
Isn't the last chance available from 21st? How are you playing it already? JP account??
It's been available in Europe for 5 hours now
Nukleon Lucky duck. I have to stay up until 10 pm tonight to play it.
This helped a ton, thanks
I'm more excited to get this game than my upcoming birthday lol
In the two day trial the raven tengu gave me the most trouble out of any enemies including Ogress.
I still hate that guy because of the PSX demo. But I also know him better than any of the other enemies now.
PlayStation Access any tips on how to effectively take him down? cuz I've had to cheese him using some collision on a wall every time I fought him.
Should have played BB first instead of NIOH1 in the first place but anyway I've bought the game and still on learning movesets.😀
Really well done ✅
Great tips!
This looks great - I hope it turn out to be good.
ive got the last chance demo downloaded but i have to wait till 11:00 pm tonight for it to let me play it.
Jordan Thomas u started now?
Sean Wattsmoore five more hours then i can and I will be.
the thing that screws me up is the blocking. i kept forgetting you could block attacks using your weapon.
This game looks to be one to watch in 2017
Looks like you don't have iFrames while dodging. I'll have to get used to that.
Depends on the stance I think.
8:07 Skeleton Wheel! DANANA DA DA DANANA!!!
Yeah, I saw that, my brain immediately jumped to "burning skeleton wheel" and I instinctively curled up and started whimpering a bit.
Game looks really cool and challenging
That moment your in 2020 watching stuff from 3 years ago
The weight is important Too, if you are on Yellow weight that means you are more slow, recover stamina slower, so is better to invest on stamina early on.
i really liked the demo for this game cant wait to buy the full game
is there any RESPEC option available? I tend to mess up builds at the beginning 😎
Dcypherman - in the betas no not sure about the full game i want to say they will have one but we will have to wait and see
Kyle Gobel yeah I hope so I've done a Respec 3 times in the Witcher so far :-)
Dcypherman - Yes. There's an item you can buy called Token of Reincarnation or something like that. I know cuz the UK got the new demo early
Cool thank you
Dcypherman - same
After playing the Alpha and Beta I will tell you about the Difficulty from playing the game coming playing the Souls and Bloodborne game
The game is hard BUT it's FAIR,...because enemies have the same system as you,If you're out of Stamina you're going to be tired and THIS also applies to enemies if they are out of stamina.Yes enemies hit HARDER but if you take advantage of their stamina you'll actually be having a Great Time clearing out them.
I say try the Demo first because I understand that this may not be for everyone,I'm just giving some of the feedback after playing the Alpha and Beta
How many weapon classes will be in the game? The 5 from the beta or more?
Watched a couple of game plays played first beta not bothering with the 2nd one just waiting for the release now cant wait to get tortured by this game. As a souls and bloodborne fan this is a must for me
looks intresting but I am looking forward to horizon zero dawn and for honor more. I just never got into the souls series the gameplay just felt kinda dull and there was not really a story. that's just my opinion though
spartan kitty games I wasn't to big into the souls series but really enjoyed this.
Adam Johnson cool I am thinking of maybe trying the beta version it seems a bit different
spartan kitty games have you tried bloodborne?
spartan kitty games There is a story in Nioh. It's nothing like From Software's dark fantasy action-RPGs. Their story is minimal but Nioh is rich. Many, many cutscenes.
Good thing this isn't a souls game.
Great vid - much more appealing to me than Dark Souls.
if you say you cant. use one stance the entire game. its possible. its just a bit difficult.
Also, looking through those samurai skills, it's wrong to dismiss sheathing your sword out of hand, with their Iai skills.
But still, the skill reset option is there, so maybe the full game has more options?
which mission is this you are playing? is it on the last chance trail!
Best tip of all sickle&chain triangle button hold skill where you channel your inner scorpion to cheese every single revenant the game will ever throw at you XD
LOL, love it! *'Get over here!'*
8:04 sounds like an Akaname. A filth-licker. Not sure who the wheel of fire guy is though...
Yhea people seem to miss that skill screen but its so important ! XD
how difficult is the final game compared to bloodborne or dark souls 3?
Coming from a Souls veteran, it's much harder. This feels more like Ninja Gaiden and Onimusha but with some Souls mechanics and HUD.
Coming from someone who gave up on playing a few souls games in bloodborne, I find Nioh way easier - played the Alpha, Beta & demo for quite a few hours much more than all the Souls games in that combined & have preordered Nioh :)
XSpike Really? By the way, go back and finish the Souls! It's worth it and once you master dodging you are all set.
Walamonga 1313 i heard the official release of this game was nerfed?
Hey, is this a good game for story or is it just gameplay?
Both
TheSolid Fanatic Story on point. Gameplay on point. So both :)
TheSolid Fanatic nhyk
Which weapon is best for defending ?
It took me quite a while to move from the Dark Souls mechanics to Bloodborne's. Which of the two games would Nioh's be comparable with?
the speed of the game is more Bloodborne.
Zackary Smith is bb better than nioh overall?
Love these games but damn the immersion kills when all enemies just respawn if you go anywhere
I'm already through all of the demo but I think I did something wrong... I did the twilight mission naked because the ki was annoying me too much with armor
About time a game like this comes out, srsly Japan! Been desperate since Onimusha.
Never played a Ninja Gaiden game...?
I did, also played all Soulsgames, BB, MGR, but this comes as close as it gets to Onimusha. I'm happy :)
Here's a question, can I get this game for my PS4 Slim and it will run at a native 60fps or is it one of those cases where I need to get the "pro" for the best experience like "The Last Guardian"
JoJoFan93 It shows an "Action Mode" which stabilizes the frame rate. I really hope the is a 60 FPS feature.
Finished the trial in 2 and a half hours with only 4 deaths. I finished even the twilight stage very easily... The boss was good but has easy movesets when you'll get used to it. Anyways, it was a good little taste until its release. I'M HYPED.
This game's going te be amazing. Felt the same excitement as when I first played Demon's Souls
I'm sure this has been said already but Yokai is essentially the Japanese equivalent of demon
