So true the statement you posted. Ive had the pleasure to be the Human to many a Sweet Dog. Every one was freindly and sweet. The four rescues, were extra sweet...I acknowledge it may be my response to them, but they all seemed to be more gracious to Contact..more Hungry for attention and all very atuned to recognizing violence.

I think they need a lot of healing. I'm a teacher and last year I taught 8th grade. The town I taught in had a lot of stray dogs roaming around. According to another teacher, one of my students claimed to use violence against dogs. The kid was always very quiet in class and had a traumatized look in his eyes. Turns out his older brother had been recently murdered in the previous city they had lived in. Him and his older brother were apparently very close. Point is, you never know the trauma someone might have gone through. Violence against any living creature is never okay. But those committing the violence clearly need help and likely need compassion, as they may never have had any in their lives.

If I tried to foster animals, they'd ALL become my *forever fosters,* and that's probably against the rules. 🤷🏼♀️
Any conscientious dog lover who truly wants to foster and cares more for the dogs' well-being than their own feelings WOULD be able to adopt them out and not hoard them like they were belongings. So when you can recognize your own inability and make the wise choice not to do something you know you'd be bad at, that's a good thing. Especially when it concerns the life of a living being. So don't feel bad. You're fine. Maybe you can volunteer at shelters or rescue organizations to help walk, play and bathe the dogs under their care?

Our Moe Squito is Zoe’s size and brings us whatever is closest to him when we walk in the door.
He was a surprise to me. We were going to this big craft show, that mom takes all day to get through normally, and mom said we had to be done by 1pm because we were meeting someone at 2pm. I thought it was my dad’s cousins or one of his step siblings. Then we get there and this stranger hands my mom a puppy with King Charles spaniel coloring. It turns out he is also part Chihuahua. Moe’s attitude is definitely chichihuahua. The whole town knows he’s a biter (this the name Moe Squito), but he’s great with our nine rescue cats.

Only two are foster failures. Turbo and Mike Mikey were foster failures. With Zoe they adopted her they did not foster her

I have an Australian cattle dog mixed and he’s the best dog I ever had.
When my husband & I started fostering we had 3 dogs. Several fosters had 7+. I thought they were nuts!!! U guessed it, we now have 7! 4 big & 3 little inc a paralyzed dog we were told would never walk again. She is now walking, running, & jumping!! We can't imagine our lives without her.

MY HEART MELTED when she said that Zoe got into this habit of bringing them something every morning. Omg that’s just precious! She’s like, “here, I brought you something really special today, you can thank me right now”. Lol
These dogs are super adoreable. This couple has amazing hearts for giving these dogs a wonderful life.

They are thin like sticks and they are covered with fleas, ticks and maggots...
They have bad infections, a lot are blind and if you want to find a good vet it's hard...
Every time we try to catch as much animals as we can get and bring them to the vet for neutering and vaccination...
For us it's damned cheap but the most people don't have animals cause they don't have enough money...

My Bernese mountain dog would always bring me one of their toys every time I came home from being away.
I'm 73 yrs old and it's difficult to look at the world and feel good about what I'll be leaving behind when I go. Then I see these young people putting out so much love in such a meaningful way, and I know it will all be OK. Thank you so much.

Foster fails aren’t exactly the best thing..I always hope they won’t be! The less foster fails in the world means there’s more animals being saved and given homes.
I had a Golden Retriever growing up that was a stray. He would always go in to the laundry room, bedrooms, etc; just to steal socks. Did not matter if clean or dirty. Same would always make sure to come SHOW us he had the sock and then go side down by the sliding glass door to the back yard and wait for us to give him attention. He also had a nasty habbit of bulldozing out the front door and running away up the street for 5--yes, ALWAYS 5--houses and then sit down on the curb and wait for mom to pick him up in the car and bring him back home. At one point, mom decided F it! and let him go. 3 hours later, and we found out later from family friends in the neighborhood, he had literally ran around the entire housing tract before coming back to the front door, panting like a freight train, and clawing to be let back in. Sam, bless his heart, was dumber than a box of rocks, hut, he LOVED when we put the harness on him and just let him run and pull us on our rollerblades. Zo reminds me so much of Sam. Miss that that brick of fur and love!

Heelers. Such high, intense, smart dogs. We have 3. A Group called us during the Houston Hurricane to help foster a heeler from a bad puppy mill situation as many staff members had gone down there to help. Now, 3 years layer we still have her.

Please be responsible and show your dad that you will do your part in caring for your dog. Don't dump everything on your parents after a month when the newness of it all wears off. Yes, going for a walk means going for a walk when it's snowing or raining or really chilly. Yes many dogs don't like vets but they have to have their check-up anyway. I don't know you of course and there are many responsible young people out there, but that's how I convinced my dad that it's worth giving the dog thing a chance.

Beyond beautiful guys - if I lived in a house I would be up to my ears in rescues. Have always rescued cats living in an apartment - and a few rabbits -- If everyone opened their eyes and hearts and homes - the joy it brings. xxx

I now have 3 rescues at my house. They're all the same color which is cool. The older two are brothers and about 25 pounds each. The new addition is a well behaved, energetic 75 pound, 11 month old Golden Retriever puppy. He's going to fill out to about 135 pounds when he gets 3 years old. I let them play together occasionally but the big dog is too much for the little ones. So, I limit their play time. I love this video because it shows that I still have a long way to go in fostering dogs. Maybe 100 more and I'll be through. 😳

What happened to the momma dog of the puppies? I was pretty upset that hear in Albuquerque NM, they foster the dogs and puppies then send mom back to shelter. Most get put down. I hope momma got adopted
