    A question came to mind, yes colonization was destructive/murderous, yet now that America is settled (as in most major conflicts are over), should we not think how to get along and build together?
    As a mostly European person (part native American) I've had people I know declare reparations must be paid. My response was, " Considering that there are no people in America that have pure bloodlines anymore, who gets walked and how much, and how will that help anything?". I honestly only see unity and cooperation as the sole means of progress over the whole of humanity.
    Bigger challenges are coming and if we all don't cooperate I do honestly think the human race will sooner or later be wiped out by a natural or man made disaster be it nuclear war or excessive meteor strikes upon the Earth?
    I think by-and-large focusing on past wrongs Has only created more division and sometimes I think it's on purpose.
    No decent person of any religion should be advocating for revenge which is basically what reparations would be used as and I think that's a horrible thoubut and something humanity should discourage.

    • @ranguy1379
      @ranguy1379 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know, but in India, there is currently a narrative of victimhood. And my countrymen want revenge. They see the European race as destructive evil people who have taken on a virtuous persona in the current times, but they still are the same imperialist people as before, or so the narrative goes. This is part of an effort to resurrect the Hindu culture in its past glory, and these people are in the process of recovering that past culture and they see the trend of westernisation as a threat. So that's why they intepret history in this manner. I would point out how Abhijit didn't even mention how much of the native americans were wiped out by small pox before the europeans reach them. Not to say the europeans are not to be blamed, they were definitely out to kill all the natives.
      These people also have a soft spot for Russia, because the Soviets helped my country when the Americans were against us. They are looking back into the past, trying to dig up old wounds and they don't want to forgive, even if the new generation of western people condemn the actions of their ancestors, they can't acknowledge that because it doesn't fit their narrative. But at least this is helping my country to rediscover its native culture and traditions and its helping us build an independant outlook, which is good. Also they do want to develop India to be a more prosperous nation than it is now. However it's unfortunate they are using hate and resentment to fuel this revolution. I would rather have this be fueled by ambition and rationalism alone. Hate breeds hate and someone has to forgive, to break the cycle, so that the world can become a better place.

    • @heatengine9283
      @heatengine9283 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ranguy1379 How can we Indians even attempt to forgive the West especially the Brits when they don't even feel the guilt about what they did to us till 1947 ? Has the British government even issued a formal apology to India for 90 years of illegitimate occupation ? The idea of breaking the cycle is truth, reconciliation and forgiveness instead what we get is lies and apathy. They don't seek forgiveness from us, they simply don't care because they do not see us as a threat.
      And since the younger generation keeps forgetting the wretched acts of their forefathers, it is our duty to keep them reminding these nasty facts.

    • @ranguy1379
      @ranguy1379 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@heatengine9283 well, there are many ways. First, most Britishers aren't educated properly about what their ancestors did here. Second, they do condemn such acts whenever they realise such things happened. Third, they are a different generation with a different worldview compared to the colonists before them. We shouldn't hold children accountable for the actions of their parents, it doesn't make sense. Even if they apologized, how does it matter? They are not the people who did the acts.
      Personally, I don't think we need their apology. I don't care what they think. If they are racist and have something against us, then fuck them. Why should I care? I will just build my nation and provide for my children. But if they are willing to build relations and help each other, why would I block it by constantly yelling about their parents? Either way, to hate them, you have to care that much about them, and I think that's unnecessary and counter-productive. I would just try to build a good future for our people and if they want to co-operate on the project of life and it was beneficial to us then great. The parents wouldn't stop me from making friends with the children.
      And it's not true that the west is apathetic. They have very much a group guilt about their past, although it's starting to go away. And imo, it should go away. Eventually, everyone has to move on from the past. We can't hold their colonial era over their heads forever. They are people like us, and they want to live guilt free and not be constantly held accountable for their parents.

      past wrongs done to one's people are an act of dis honour
      it is human nature to regain honour
      "unity and co operation"
      the only unity and co operation USA wants is soft imperialism and occupation

    There is one significant difference between colonization of Americas and colonization of Siberia. In America natives weren't used to diseases that Europeans brought with them, so most of natives actually died because of diseases, and not because of planned extermination. In Siberia they were used to diseases that Russian conquerors brought with them, so similar catastrophe didn't happen. Most of Native siberians (chukots, tunguses, yakuts and other turkic tribes, number of finno-ugric nations, chukchis, aleuts, nenets, etc) were wiped out as well vas Northern american tribes. The ones that somehow survive up until nowadays usually have no more that few hundrers or few thousands people left, in some cases even few dozens. And differently from USA or Mexico, where they have at least calm lives nowadays, Russia, has and still is using native siberians as meat infantry in modern warfare, recruiting them through mass propaganda and getting all the resources from their territories to metropolian areas, such as Moscow, leaving them with very poor work choice, which once again leads them to join russia`s expansionist warfare

    5:09 jak jste dospěl k uvedenému číslu?
    how did you arrive at that number?
    5:26 Kdyby mělo během 300 roků přijít o život 100 milionů Indiánů, museli by se množit jako kobylky!
    If 100 million Indians were to lose their lives in 300 years, they would have to breed like locusts!
    Anglie kolonizovala Indii později, než Ruϟϟko Sibiř. Indii opustili v roce 1946. Kdy Ruϟϟko uvolní Sibiř?
    England colonized India later than Ruϟϟia colonized Siberia. They left India in 1946. When will Ruϟϟia leave Siberia?

    Native Northern Russians are Originally are Tibetan People boz there Northern Russians now are same DNA with Tibetan People. They call Denisovan. Some archaeologists found Denisovan Bone in Russia cave . This Denisovan are found in North America and Ukraine Rae most of are same human species from Denisovan after that from Apes Evolution they called Neanderthal. Denisovan are mostly found in Northern parts. If you Notice those Denisovan people are less hairy on body , short heights and half beard, Neanderthal are more hairy and long legs. That’s a simple difference between these two types of humans species. That’s why Tibetan ,Himalayan people can surviving Highly mountains. Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge.I hope you will bring us more information about more information to us .

    @Chavda You are wrong: There were a lot of genocides! Kazakhs, Tatars, Khanty-Mansis, Circassians, etc. See: "The Red Book of the Peoples of the Russian Empire" and other souces. And due to these Russian genocides and FORCED Russification the indigenous peoples became minorities where before no Russians lived.

    You've forgotten Crimean Tatars and Circassian people of Caucasus..!, they were almost exterminated..

  • @mrshadowcool174
    @mrshadowcool174 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Obviously, Genocides did infact happen, and it's still continuing.
    First of all, to clear up things, let's look at the ethnicities cause it's hard to picture which communities live there.
    The region closer to Georgia & Turkey has Caucasian people, eg Ingush-Vainakh and other Dagestani communities. At one point, the region also had the Kalmyks (related to Oirat tribes) but we will talk about their fate later.
    The region closer to Central Asia and Mongolia has various Mongolic people like Buryats and Tuvans (mostly Buddhists, and no, Russians are not at all Buddhists. I don't know where he got that data), and Tatars (Muslim Mongols. Due to their violent behaviour, Tatar became a pejorative for all Mongolic people later on amongst racists).
    The region closer to Manchuria has Tungusic people, while region closer to Japan has Ainu people, and they have relatives in Northern Japan.
    And the region known as Siberia, one of the most vast culturally & genetically related regions on the planet, has a plethora of ethnicities, mostly due to isolation in that terrain and climate. Most of them are related to native americans. Viz: In central region you have Yeniseian (only Ket survive today) and Evenki (including Dolgan) people. In the Far East you have various nomadic people like Yupik (commonly known as Eskimo), Koryak, Yukaghir, and Chukchi peoples. In the very North, close to Arctic circle, there are Nganasan, Nenet and Yakut people.
    A brief timeline :
    1) The Russian conquest of North Asia was neither about fur or defence against any invader, it was an imperialist motive just like other European colonizers. And various rulers imposed draconian laws over indigenous people to various degrees of cruelty.
    2) Most of the tribes mentioned tried to rebel, but they were regularly deported and massacred and converted, which broke their traditions and numbers, and eventually paved way for Russification. Russian ultranationalists bost how such a vast land speaks one language, they don't speak it willingly, they were, and are still forced to. The white supremacist ideology in Russia actually is very much similar to Anglo-American white supremacy or Neo-nazism.
    3) The Russians introduced diseases like Smallpox which lead to heavy deaths, some to the point of 70% loss in population eg Yakuts
    4) The Tsars regularly used the Cossacks to subjugate and massacre various indigenous population, reducing their numbers to a miniscule eg the Koryaks.
    5) Some of the rebellions were very successful eg the Chukchi who many times defeated the Russian armies.
    6) Yasak tax system imposed on indigenous people who couldn't afford to pay it. The tax was one of the motives which regularly sparked rebellions. Some of them were purged so mercilessly, eg the Yakuts, on whom religion was used as a tool of subjugation (just like in Africa) which resulted in loss of their identity.
    7) Collectivization of reindeer ownership affecting lifestyle of tribes eg Nganasan and Nenets.
    8) The Soviets regularly deported indigenous people to break their morale (they were separated just like in Tsarist Russia, and made to live in new oblasts which separated them from their culture and even families), and contrary to what tankies believe, most Russians didn't even believe in communism. Most of them just carried on with their white supremacist and pro-Russian ideology. It's a myth that Soviets defeated Nazis. Cause Russians themselves believed in Nazi ideology, the idea of White race being superior. Hence Soviets actually helped Germany in invading Czechoslovakia. Sadly for them, the Germans considered the Slavs to be an inferior race, and hence they retaliated. This white supremacist legacy is the reason, Russia invaded (eg Hungary) and imposed their Language and Script over all the neighbouring Soviet nations, hence you'll notice that most post-Soviet nations use Cryllic alphabet and minority languages are not given a damn about in the beuracracy. And it's not just cultural but racial subjugation. Russians forcibly migrated to other nations for controlling them, hence you'll also notice that most post-Soviet nations have Russians as second largest minority, who are very well-to-do.
    The Soviets did not do much damage to the Orthodox church (since it was their religion), but heavily persecuted the Buddhists, Animists and Muslim people. The number of Monks that were merciless executed is horrific to even imagine. Almost all the monasteries broken. Eg in Mongolia, when PM Peljidiin Genden refused to destroy Buddhist institutions and Russify Mongolia, since Buddhism was easily compatible with atheism and he was an arduent nationalist, the Soviets purged him, and the NKVD went on to kill tens of thousands of Buddhists, with public harrasment/torture of the monks and with almost every monastery in Ulaanbatar destroyed.
    The Soviets regularly deported minorities like Kalmyks (so much for minority appeasement) and collectivized the ancestral land of Siberians (like Kets) and put them under State control (you know the reason! it's just indirectly justifying the control of indigenous lands by white supremacists. communism is just white man's burden disguised in red clothing).
    9) When any indigenous tribe neglected Soviet policies, the secret police purged them like animals. Eg the Buryats, whose Mongolian warlike nature and Buddhist traditions, made them oppose the collectivist (it's actually lawful stealing let's be honest) policies. The Red Army merciless killed their people and clergy.
    10) And you may think currently under Putin things are just fine. Nope, Russia is a literal dictatorship that imposes their hegemony over the indigestion people and suppresses any call for self-rule. And it's not that these people hate living together. The communities have always been neglected, so much that the only way to get recognition in moscow is to adapt the religion, language, attire and most minute of detail of the white man. Russian populace still believes in white supremacy, both right and even leftist wings, eg Alexei Nvalny, the famous Putin dissident, made many racist remarks in the past, including nuking Georgia. As for Putin, he literally came to power by spewing hatred against Chechens, and most of his diehard followers are christian fundamentalist white supremacists:

    Do not fall trap to the whitewashed history of Russian colonialism. They are literally a settler-coloniak state like USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Israel.
