Pancake has well and truly surrendered to the comforts of kept life. And this is a really gorgeous summer. And the rice fields are really thriving looks like. Oh Pancake. This is what the internet should be used for. Sharing lovely moments, sharing knowledge, and sharing our cute fur babies.
I have 3 dream Japan vacations. One in October/November for fall colours and cute Halloween stuff. Second is in March/April for sakura season. My third is in June because hydrangeas are my favorite flower and seeing them everywhere in June, I just love it!
I think it was a special model for this year. When I was considering buying it, I kept overhearing people stop and mention that they remembered something very similar in their grandma's house. 🥰
I’ve learned about cold noodle salad from watching so many Asian TH-camrs and I now make it myself! So incredibly refreshing and not too heavy during hot days. Very cool and efficient retro fan!
As a showa era person, I miss my childhood life in rural areas of Fukushima when I watch your video. My parents house there were couple of fans like the one you bought.
It seams like the Showa era was slower paced especially in the summer with…I grew up in that time in Japan… maybe because I was just a kid and had no worries!
Checking in with friends in Japan, and wanted to check in on you too. Saw the earthquake and tsunami warnings. Praying for safety for you and your neighbors ❤️
3:38 i live in indonesia, surabaya. and here we barely have rain at all. even if it is the rainy season, it'll surprisingly get hotter. while i do enjoy the very, very rare rain, that clip of yours just took my mind back where my family and i were struggling to find clean clothes because the laundry haven't dried up *at all* even after 4 days, lol. good memories. still love the rain, though.
Does it say something about me that I know this tune in the opera "La Gioconda" from watching Allan Sherman's "Camp Granada" version on Ed Sullivan? "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh!" 🤣
This may be your best filmed video so far. Amazing shots. The ambient scenes give off a very strong Studio Ghibli vibe. Pancake reigns as the luckiest pup.
Thank you for sharing your life in Japan. As a Canadian it make me happy to watch my fellow Canadians living their best life. Also, I love your dog. He is so very personable! And really fun to watch him.
As a fellow gardener, would love to see more about your experiences gardening - what you're growing, how you deal with pests, weather fluctuations, how good the yields are, just overall challenges and successes.
Thank you for sharing the amazing view of your life in the countryside. I loved the wind chime and the beautiful glass globe you placed in your tree. So simple yet beautiful. Keep up the amazing work.
The flowers are beautiful ! I’m soo glad you purchased a fan FOR PANCAKE 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 ! The pictures of her chilling on the bed resting it’s little head on the pillow is just too cute 😂😂😂😂😂 OBTW my mom used the excuse that our dog needed central ac was because it was too hot on the floor for her ….. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That swim looked amazing! As someone who grew up swimming in rivers and streams, there's nothing better than taking a dip in a cold river on a scorching hot summer day. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
I heard about the earthquake below you guys! You were the first people I thought of, hope you’re staying safe & I will be keeping you In my thoughts 💛💛
I live in Australia. I lived near Sydney for 20 years, and had a real summer every year. I moved to Tasmania, the worse decision of my life! NO real summer in SIX years. I'd do anything to have a real summer again! Enjoy the heat!
It just dawned on me that yours is the only video that I view from start to finish on normal speed. It's like you wouldn't want to speed up, say, music.
I love pancake!❤ He is so cute and I thought it was so cute the way he hesitated to go completely in to swim. He is such a smart little dog he watches every thing yall do. Japan is such a beautiful country I really hope I get to see it firsthand one day. Anyway you do such a great job on your videos I really enjoy watching them.
Strange. I visited Japan in 1965 in the first three weeks of July and never once noticed the heat and I really should have since I came from the relatively cool summers of Alberta.
0:25 oml. I forget what that’s called but i had tonnnns of those as a kid. I was obsessed with sailboats growing up. Had the mariner autism rather than the train-tism
Hello! Do you have a video were you explain how to live in an abandoned house in Japan? The process and paper-work? I am highly interested to do the same. Thank you!
Hi, no I don't. We rent this house and found it through a friend who lives in the area. We just have a simple contract outlining an agreement with our landlord to stay here. My first video explains a bit of our process, which mainly involved a face-to-face meeting with them.
Hello Mika, I really like your calm and beautiful videos. They are so interesting and relaxing at the same time. Thank you for sharing them with us 🕊 I have a special and a little bit of a strange question ☺ I saw in your video that you have a little machine standing underneath your drying clothes and I would love to know if it is a machine that warms the air, for instance like a heater, or if it is a machine that would just absorbe the moisture. Or both? And is it a special japanese invention for drying clothes inside your home? I´m asking because I´m looking for a clever solution in my very old flat here in Germany and I have no idea so far, as I havn`t found the right thing yet. I would be ever so happy to hear from you. Lots of love and regards from Düsseldorf 💚 Corinna
@@firefly4515 I first had it when I moved to Japan from Vancouver (the summers felt like they were 100% humidity and 100°F or 38°C!) - the chilled noodle dish was so refreshing! The best part? You can totally tailor it to whatever you or your family prefers!
Yes, hiyashi chuka! For this video, I used the sesame and miso dressing from here: www.justonecookbook.com/hiyashi-chuka-with-sesame-miso-sauce/ I don’t necessarily stick to this recipe, though; I have also used the vinegar and soy sauce dressing, which is really refreshing: www.justonecookbook.com/hiyashi-chuka-cold-ramen/
Love your channel. Are there any interesting teas available in your prefecture? I have visited Japan in my military career and love some teas I have found near Sagamino station.(有)すずき園 . I cant find the flavor i found there anywhere else.
Hey there! In Kochi Prefecture, we're not particularly known for our teas. Instead, we're famous for our citrus fruits. There's a small village here that's well-known for its yuzu production, and I've heard they make yuzu tea, although I haven't tried it myself. washokugo.jp/product/%E3%82%86%E3%81%9A%E8%8C%B6/ We are also famous for ginger, so I suspect there are some ginger teas out there as well!
@@pepi3240 Heat stroke is serious; and I believe you. I arrived in Western Tokyo in late August for a half year stay. I ran the AC through November. From the upper USA Midwest, I'd never experienced such humidity, as evidence by Mika and Jesse's dehumidifier under the hanging wash.
