The Attitude Indicator: More than a Compass

  • The DJI Mini 3 Pro attitude indicator of the DJI Fly App is often mistakenly referred to as the compass, but it's so much more than that. It can provide information about the tilt angle of the aircraft as well as the location of the remote controller and home point. The attitude indicator is available for all DJI drones compatible with the DJI fly app.

I've always prefered to use the compass instead of the map. But this was a great breakdown! I didnt know compass could do so much. This tip for flying in high winds will surely help me 2:35 Thank you sir!

Having the attitude indicator show that the drone is being pushed around by the wind 02:45 really can help out - a lot of times it may be fairly windless on the ground but flying above tree level or over a river/waterfall it really can get wonky so it is good to have that available. To answer your question, I definitely prefer to have the drone in the center vs the remote controller.

    Great video! Thanks!
Let me said this: if you don't understand this explanation in this video, you are not a good drone pilot. Period!
Think about it , you send your drone far away, 700 meters away, so you lost your visual! You don't know if the drone go or come back...
Drone al center? 🤔 So, you send your controller to fly? 🤔

Great vid. My personal favourite is controller in centre - as I'm the fixed point and the drone is moving around me, I just find it more intuitive this way. It's a brilliant feature, I almost never use the map display.

As a former fixed-wing pilot, I prefer the white line that DJI used to have on the display. The current slight difference in colour is hard to see on a sunny day, especially when my glasses darken.

I feel the indicator icons are too generic and similar looking in the DJI Fly App, thereby must less useful. DJI could easily design and icon that looks like a person, drone, and controller respectively. In contrast, the Litchi app does a great job of using more graphic icons.

The DJI Air does NOT exist !
If you mean the DJI Mavic Air, it's controlled by the DJI GO4 app, NOT the DJI Fly app.
    Also:
The DJI Air 2 does NOT exist !
Perhaps you mean the DJI Mavic Air 2.
