I really miss the dodging option in RB2. People online used to get so mad when you clearly showed them the gap in skill by knocking aside their ki attacks and by dodging their punches.

Raging blast just can’t be beat I played not too long ago and literally noticed how each Saiyan transformation for Goku has a different fighting style. In ssj he fights more aggressive with punches like he’s pissed off while Ssj2 uses more kicks and is more stylish and SSJ3 is a combination of both.

I like how raging blast always had cinematic cutscenes during super attacks, ultimates, and transformations as opposed to xenoverse where the opponent would just stand there and flinch a bit. And we'll all miss the split screen multiplayer

I remember like 6 years ago playing dbrb 2 on a ps3. I loved that game. I'm hoping to play it again. There's like no words to describe it how it felt to play that game. And those are one of my best memories.

Rb2 gave us the best DBZ fights, the beam struggles the styling by deflecting ki blasts, beams and doding punches and kicks, hitting hard punches to the gut and making ur opponents crash through or into walls. Not to mention the transformations, damn can't believe it came out 10years ago, I'd play that game all over again.

Bandai doesn’t want to give us a perfect DBZ game. Think about it, they remastered Budokai and left Tenkaichi in the dust. They pretend Raging blast doesn’t exist but always STEAL elements in that game and try to apply them in newer games. Maybe spike asks for too much money and they want to be cheap?
Tenkaichi was a spam fest where half the characters were just copied and pasted tbh so I can see why they left it and no they don't pretend raging blast doesn't exist they acknowledged it during the battle hour thing where they should footage of old dragon ball games. They also made a reference to raging blast in xenoverse 2 when you train with goku as your mentor. The big problem here is they release dragon ball games every year which doesn't give them nearly enough time to make a really good game. Imagine if kakarot got more than a year of development or if xenoverse did as well. Hopefully they start slowing down the development period and quit rushing these games out.

@@Cuhrix Budokai 2 didn't really have much going for it other than some of the long Ultimate Attack animations. Every character controlled pretty much the same way. On the topic of development time, they have multiple studios working on games. Kakarot had at least 2 years of development. The original XV probably had 2 at least as well. Then XV2 probably began production as soon as XV came out since they probably had most DLC character ready at launch. It's not just a matter of time. It's also a matter of game direction. I'm certain FighterZ had a similar amount of development time as the others but gave us some of the best characters models from any game and the effects and animations are really well done. It's just not a very fun game for me because I'm not into 2D fighters.
RB didnt sell well because of the BT3 scumbags never shutting up about their game.
Raging Blast 2 is the most underrated DBZ games, is perfect.

dbz kakarot is the embodiment of them using the dbz story on everything. kakarot however embraced it and went to all the details and made it into an rpg.

Love both games but Rb did better with making characters really feel like the ones from the show I Liked the fact that the fighting styles would change When They transform, Every transformation didn’t have the same animation and I liked that all transformable characters could transform in game vs them having a whole separate character slot

Can everyone just try to understand that these games have two completely different styles and function entirely differently and outshine each other in different categories. I grew up playing Budokai Tenkaichi 2 & 3 and later with Raging Blast 2, but as of recently I've been in love with Xenoverse and can respect them individually. I personally just can't stop being addicted to the feeling of getting stronger in XV2 with a great interpretation of a fighting system that really reflects the anime.
The game creators are trying something new, to see if there r better ways to improve there games. The new dragon ball z:Kakarot Will be even different then both of these games. This is the only way to evolves games. So patients is key.

Raging Blast 2 Graphics are still so nice to me like compared to XV2 I like RB2 style more. Fun Fact too in RB2 if you change Goku Gi to the torn type from Namek his Super Saiyan Hair will look like the old animation with no visible hair strands.

Edit: the reason why I'm giving it to rb2 cause it tries new things some worked some did not dbxv2 added good stuff and bad stuff. Rb2 had no story mode kind of boring battle after battle with conditions crazy enough to get annoyed after the 2nd try for me atleast but the crash beam clashing assist ults not to mention the roster was dope ssj3 vegeta remains my fav vegeta to this day. Dbxv2 started out just your basic sequel over time more got added but at that they were lowkey milking the game for as long as they can the only noteworthy dlc characters i can name you are god vegeta 21 and majuub cause they feel more unique than most of the cast in dbxv2

You would think since there have been so many Dragonball games, everything is literally recycled and the same every time. Same storyline everytime, etc etc. They should’ve stopped after the first Xenoverse.

There’s a little neat feature in the raging blast games. If you deal more damage than the enemy has health with a ki blast ultimate, your enemy gets destroyed in the blast. Or at least I think that’s how it’s done. Try it :D

You know... Part of me WANTS to believe that they at least tried at launch and just stopped caring, but... You never really know, but yeah, they did put a lot of effort in. Sucks there was no story mode, things might have turned out differently...

For me, Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 remains the best Dragon Ball game even today.
Could it be for nostalgia? Perhaps. The only shortcoming of this game is that it does not have a Story Mode (as its predecessor had).
Regarding Xenoverse 2, I see it as the most fun Dragon Ball game ever. The game provides you with lots of things to keep having fun with it, be it creating new characters, doing missions, etc. What I complain about this game is: The scenarios for fighting, apart from the stages of DLC (Champa Tournament, Destroyed Future and Tournament of Power) ALL others are horrible to fight. The texture of some characters is ridiculous too. Aside from that, the movoset are for the most part similar. Compared to RB 2, Goku and Vegeta when they transformed into SSJ, consequently had changes in their fighting style.
And that in a future Xenoverse 3, Bandai will DECREASE the amount of DLCS! Most are all crap, with skills being recycled in 90% of paid characters.

How tf is not having a story a short coming when it’s the same fucking story every game
I didn't mind it. I found it interesting of having a mini campaign for each character and some you needed to get multiple others to a certain point to 100% them. The missions I didn't like was the gimmicky start near death fights. Those were a bit annoying.

Unpopular opinion: galaxy mode is better than story mode since it forces you to play with all the characters wich makes the choice of "wich character is my main" much easier to solve whil throughout dbxv2 you dont need to play with any character you can play with your cac and thats ot

Well, I'd have to say Raging Blast two. Not only are the animations more satisfying, but you can destroy a lot more than a few houses in that game. Like, every map has something you can destroy. Not to mention you actually get torn clothes DURING whatever match you're having depending on what type of damage you receive. So.. a lot of attention to detail went into RB2.
The Raging Blast 2 is like a BT3 remastred, I miss those matches with my brother with both games

To tell you the truth I like raging blast a 100% can't wait for them to make a part 3
RB2 is flat out the better game especially for it’s time. The animations are clearly better in almost (almost) every way. the physics are so obviously better if you’ve played both games because xenoverse characters tend to turn sideways for no reason, attacks don’t register properly and many combos just fall because of the terrible physics. The art style for X2 was cool but not great because everyone either looked like plastic or like meta whereas RB2 characters hair looked like real hair and skin looked like real skin. All of the blasts look better in RB2 because they actually look like a solid ki blast from the show rather than shiny translucent glass and the tracking for those blasts is obviously way more consistent in RB2

I like more DBRB2 cause there is more animations when u do a skill. Its like dragon ball ultimate tenkaichi, every attacks and skills has his own special animation and it leaves giant craters on the ground, its awesome

I think the debate on what people prefer in a Dragonball game boils down to 3 things:
1. The content and mechanics of the game (transformations within a match, customisations , character roster, etc.)
2. Nostalgia (some people say Budokai 3 was the most fun and others say Raging Blast 2 is; for me Budokai Tenkaichi 3 brought me the most fun because I would come home after school and play it for hours on end and never get bored of the large selection of characters I was given the liberty to play as and control.)
3. What uniqueness each game brings with it on release (FighterZ is a nice nod to side scrolling fighting games such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, Xenoverse 1&2 as well as Ultimate Tenkaichi bring in the option to create a character and play through a story centred around your custom character.)
As for my stance in this argument, I think I enjoy Raging Blast 2 far more than Xenoverse 2. Don’t get me wrong, I love Xenoverse 2; if I didn’t then I wouldn’t have shamelessly dumped so much money and time into the game, but I feel Raging Blast 2 kind of sticks with me so much more. Raging Blast 2 has a more casual playstyle where anyone could boot up the game and spend a lot of time playing match after match and coming up with their own “What-Ifs.” Xenoverse 2 feels more online oriented than any other Dragonball game I have played and a casual match with another player could be interrupted at any moment with a disconnection or just slow internet. I’m not acknowledging Raging Blast 2 as a godsend of a Dragonball game, as I’m pretty sure we all know it was really lacklustre in terms of story as it never really had one aside that the first Raging Blast had along with the What-Ifs that let us all ponder on what really could happen if Broly got a Super Saipan 3 or if Gogeta and Vegito were to fight. So while I think Raging Blast 2 lacked a story mode, that really doesn’t take away from how fun the game truly is. Xenoverse 2 is great fun if you have some friends or people to play through the Parallel Quests and Raids with but can really be dull at times when you are left all on your own. Personally, I feel Raging Blast 2 is far superior as a Dragonball game because it catches every little bit of the casual playstyle I look for when I buy games as well as having characters from my favourite show. But I don’t think we should name a best Dragonball game as each one shines in their own way as well as being dull in their on way too.
