StarWars IRL something just became clear. Your entire fan base is 5 year olds who genuinely think kyber crystals exist. And guess what. You just ruined that immersion for the kids. Thanks genius
All the colors and sounds are already programmed in the hilt and the holocrons have all the character lines in them. The hilts and holocrons have an RFID chip reader and the crystals have a chip in them with a bit of information that tells the hilt or holocron what files to use. RFID chips don't need battery and are very small so they are perfect for those crystals. It's the same technology used to microchip pets.
Yep and in those light saber the LED are along, well inside the blade not in the handle... not the same techno than the blade he had put the crystal in... (I guess it is a ultrasaber one)
A little more sophisticated than a normal RFID, Here is some of the technology, instead of wireless LED, it is wireless information reading, so you can store sound clips on the crystals for holocrons and more data: th-cam.com/video/PsUsByrOveE/w-d-xo.html
Well yes and no, the LEDs in the blade are capable of producing any of the colors, and the sounds are all programmed into the soundboard in the hilt. The passive rfid in the krystal simply tells the hilt what Krystal has been inserted, hence what sound files to use and what color signal to send to the blade LEDs, so it actually is all in the hilt.. But the RFID in the Krystal is passive and all it's doing is identifying itself to the hilt. I don't see how it could possibly store sound files on it. Those are all stored on the sound card in the hilt. The hilt then takes that information and utilizes the appropriate sound files and light colors Etc. to use from the soundboard/card. The holocrons work on the exact same principle. That's the only way that I can see it would work. If anyone else knows better please say so because I'm not an expert, but I know the basics of RFID technology.
@chamoo232 I'm sorry if it looks like I was just repeating what you said. The only reason I did that was because Baldr, I think it may have been, followed you right up stating the files themselves are on the RFID in the crystal. if I understood his comment correctly. I was just trying to clear that up since he commented that directly after you. No stepping on toes intended.
The crystals have RFID numbers on them, the saber reads it and lights up the blade. You can actually buy an RFID reader and change what color you crystal amits, ex: blue crystal, shines yellow. I’m pretty sure there is a video about this somewhere.
The light doesnt emite from the crystal. It is made by the leds inside of the blade. The color is changed by the chip inside of the crystal. It is really common in lightsaber buildings these days, especially with the new led strip blades. Whats more interesting: The interaction of the crystals with the holocrons. Thats damn cool.
I literally just seen a video yesterday about how to change the color of your kyber crystal, it has to do with the rfid code that the crystal is given, cuz inside of it is a little rfid chip that has the code, you change it by using an rfid coder tool and giving it the correct code for what ever color you want, like black, white, green, blue, purple, and red
@@madmadmax8849 well I'm 10 and i know physics's i mean i was 6 and 5 when i thought they were real too and yes i know I'm a kid till I'm 18 but really not trying to be mean I'm serious
First things first i'd like to say your room is goals - at least for a SW geek like me - plus the smart controls make it even cooler! Secondly - about the crystals - I think that each color has a different built-in NFC chip, which makes them capable of interacting with holocrons and hilts in their own specific way. Perhaps it'd be fun to do a "What's Inside A Kyber Crystal" video to confirm my theory, lol
The light isn’t on the crystal it’s in the chassis. The crystal tabs in at the bottom and is spring loaded at the top. The spring triggers light and sound so that’s probably how it tells which crystal is which. It’s really not that hard
I think that inside the kyber crystals are like code plastic foils like in the skylanders base plate of the figures and inside that saber base thingy is a scanner that scans the code in the crystal and sends a bluetooth signal to the leds so they take that color
It's an RFID chip in the crystal that tells the LED inside the main body what color to make the blade. This is all old tech that the saber building community has had available to them for years.
From 2020 (year i commented) The lightsabers can so any color, like if you had a yellow CRYSTAL then it would do yellow blade, but for black its red but for white, yellow it changes. So you can have any color while you build, but after if you want to change.. you go buy a CRYSTAL and then put it in your hilt and that's it! the blade will change to the color of the CRYSTAL. Great video btw.
The Khyber crystals work because there is a chip in side that tells the lightsaber change colors because they have a chip in them you have one you can change the color by getting a chip reader and entering a code that you can look up and it changes it.
Multifunction multicolor LED blade, accelerometer and impact driven reactions, Authentic licensed sound effects, Swappable hilt pieces, kyber crystal effect, and light roleplay tough blade. Disney just cornered the market on sabers.
I've started my own star wars channel... it's similar to yours, but I'm also making little skits and funny stuff with mine... I actually purchased and just received a black crystal... keep up the awesome content...
there is an RFID chip in the crystals, technically you only need one crystal for all colors, and an RFID reader to change the chips code to the color you want
Kinda random but I just wanted to throw this out there. When you have the switch in the off position the kyber crystal light is always on. You can look down the lightsaber and see it. If you have the switch “on” it turns it off. Maybe saving battery? (Obviously without the blade installed)
My guess is it works like a lot of work ID badges. An RFID chip in the crystal responds to induced current by emitting a code. When the hilt detects the code, it illuminates LED lights according to what the code corresponds to.
Every cristal have a code that the hilt read, so for example let’s say that your blue cristal has the code 3648. Then the hilt is programmed to light up the LED blue when the code 3648 is read.
Are there contact points on the top and bottom of the crystal? My guess is it's just a little diode that lets the LED strip know what color to turn which is super clever and cool.
Ok so if any of you have played skylanders you have to put these plastic figures onto a portal which you get when you buy the game, but it registers what sky lander you are putting on the portal, so I think it must work like that
The kyper crystals arent just plastic. It has electronics inside of it that tell the electronics in the chassis to project whatever color is set for the crystal
The reason y they make the light saber glow that colour is because it has a small chip in the kyber crystal so the hold reads the code and make the light saber appear that colour
I just subscribed to your channel. It's my first time watching any of your videos, ever. As a huge Star Wars fanatic, I am very pleased. Thank you for sharing.
The crystals work because they have an rfid implant i the middle of them and acording to that implant it will tell the leds to change to that specific colour
No matter how old you are if you own a Lightsaber you are gonna Die a Legend and if someone thinks Star Wars is Childish especially if you have a Lightsaber when you're above 20 and they point it out to you ... well choke'em like Vader did that one Dude in Episode 4 but don't break their necks since they might be still talking and then ask the Commander to bring the Passengers Alive "I WANT THEM ALIVE" no jokes to the side no matter the age if you like Star Wars only a toy lightsaber can prove it
the crystal is magnetic which has a code which tells the chasy which tells the blade what color the crystal should project and each crystal has a different code
Anyone who wants to know how it works I can tell you.. each crystal has an RFID chip in it, much like the one in your credit card. They each have their own individual code and thats how the light saber detects which color it is.

I wish they had a custom Galaxy Edge lightsaber web page for those who can't travel there due to the damn virus going around. That way they can make money during this time lol
