Hey Glitch, (ex-)Software Engineer in Air Traffic Management Systems here. The concerns you raise at 1:50, while valid, are pretty small. Most ADSB systems are supplemented with MLAT (Multilateration) systems and secondary radar (the whirl-y one). At large airports ADSB, MLAT, and secondary work together to provide a track solution that has a confidence value. If a "malicious threat actor" was injecting false ADSB info, the MLAT and secondary would be able to pick up on that. Now, MLAT systems are pretty expensive and are only typically used where confidence is key. Smaller airports probably won't have an MLAT system, but would typically still have secondary radar.

I had a thought to use a Key Croc in combination with a USB Ethernet Adapter to capture packets as loot.
Could be interesting to turn a croc into a turtle....

Contributing a receiver’s data to an existing network makes the data pool more accurate is something that should be mentioned. It also verifies what is transmitted by the aircraft

GlytchTech awesome! Hopefully people who build these also go looking for higher performance antenna builds either here or elsewhere online, especially those who plan to mount antennae on roofs or towers.

Spoofing a bunch of signals at once a la NEMESIS seems possible with key croc and sdr. That could be fun to see.

I don't understand how this is different from other plane tracking services. ADS-B Exchange doesn't block military aircraft like FlightRadar24.

This mostly just allows you to feed those sites, and to have fast access to local information, and to keep the data for later use. I don't know the key croc works, but if you use a pi you can watch real time local traffic without an internet connection.

I wish all aircraft would have their transponders turned "ON" . Have experienced a few low flying Cessnas hill hugging (Acrophobic pilots?) I currently use "flight radar 24" but this looks better. I fly drones of death and destruction and happy to have this to let me know of potential problems with these guys flying too low. I'm dying to catch one that trespasses. A Cessna Prop and nose cone as a trophy on my wall. is this the new era of Big Game hunting?
