New Yorker says he's confused on Trump charges

  • Donald Trump became the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes Thursday as a New York jury found him guilty of falsifying business records in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through hush money payments to a porn actor who said the two had sex.
Jurors deliberated for 9.5 hours over two days before convicting Trump of all 34 counts he faced. Trump sat stone-faced as the verdict was being read, while cheering from the street below - where supporters and detractors of the former president were gathered - could be heard in the hallway on the 15th floor of the courthouse.

Go to your local courthouse, you will see many pretty cases prosecuted, that is just how the justice system works sometimes. If you don't like the law, change it. You know, like the Supreme court made bribes to politicians legal, that kind of thing. Used to be against the law, now it is not unless there is absolute evidence of a quid pro quo. Cohen paid the porn star $130K for the rights to her story so it wouldn't get printed before the election. That part's not a crime, except for the part about hiding the truth during the election. Cohen spent three years in jail for his part in the conspiracy.
The National Enquirer paid the Playmate $150K for her story, and Cohen was involved in that deal as well.
Trump paid Cohen back $420K with checks that were recorded as 'legal expense' in the business records but there was no retainer agreement. Just because you paid a lawyer to break the law for you doesn't make it a 'legal expense', that's more like an 'illegal expense' ..

There was nothing rigged about that. They're the ones that convicted Trump, not Biden, not the DOJ, not the Democrats, not the prosecutor!!!
Ask yourself this: with a year to prepare, why didn't Trump have a defense? He offered no documentation to support his "innocence." They only had one (really bad) witness. And Trump didn't testify in his own defense. Nor did his sons or any other of his employees.
Why can't you put 2 and 2 together. He had his day in court, to tell his side, to prove his innocence. He just didn't. Because he was guilty. Case close. Geezus, he even confessed to these crimes several times in public!

All the jurors agreed he was guilty (the instruction Trump is complaining about had to do with they did not all have to agree with the exact felony he falsified the documents to cover up. But they all had to agree he falsified the documents to cover up one of the 3 felonies)
And it is a felony to falsify documents to cover up a crime, that has been NY law for a long time. The novel part of this case was trying the falsification felonies without the underlying crime, and trying it in state court when the underlying crime was federal. However, it is not thaaaat out of line with how prosecutor's offices regularly operate

34 charges one for each check and documrnt his lawyer filed in the SAME manhattan courthouse, for a perfectly normal NDA.... very common paperwork.
Except Cuomo during the Me Too movement changed the filing rules... for a new york (and now michigan in 2021) politicians... and only for politicians, it is NOT a legal expense, but a 'campaign contribution' for everyone else in and out of New York, the paperwork is filed as a 'legal expense'...
Trumps crime is that his lawyer filed paperwork 'incorrectly' and he paid taxes on that paperwork when he was supposed to get a tax deduction for it.
Thats the 'crime'.. he overpaid taxes and filed something as he would in 48 of the states he was elected to...
Remember, trump never ran for office in new york... he ran for Federal office, so does new yorks laws even apply here?
Alvin Bragg elevated the state misdemeanor charge to a federal felony charges, through a state court, not a federal court, violating the 6th ammendment.

Nothing to do with him having an affair but everything to do with him getting his lawyer to pay the hush money then claiming it a legal expenses, which it wasn't.
