- Here's my brass quintet arrangement of "Perfect Day". It's a hauntingly beautiful piece of music originally composed by Colin Towns and sung by Miriam Stockley as the theme for the BBC's TV series "The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends" (1992).
Thank you to my brother Sam for recording the Piano part for this video.
Instrumentation: Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Trombone, Horn and Tuba, with optional Piano. * In the recording I play the Tuba part on my Flugel, dropped down two octaves in software.

Maeve. Very beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing rendition. Thank you! ❤
Thank you for introducing me to this wonderful song. I really like the intertwining lines, interesting chords, and easy playing ranges - so smooth and emotive. Oh yeah...the playing and production is top-notch. I'll be sure to follow along in Musescore. Well done, Maeve!
Stunning arrangement and playing Maeve. Loved it and it was a blast being a part of it!
Thanks again Sam. Great to collaborate with you on this one.
Your arrangements and performances are always truly exceptional. My quintet's trumpets are always jealous of how well you play. This piece might be the best of all!!! Thank you for making these available
Thanks Mark, that's really high praise! I'm glad you enjoyed this one.
Very nice 👌
Really cool version.
Wow Maeve not only are you back but you are at the top of your game, another winner
Beautiful blend of harmony - nicely played!
My, My ... Magnificent Maeve Makes More Music Magic!! Marvelous!! ... [Greetings from the Old Pueblo]
Gorgeous Maeve!
So beautiful Maeve
Thank you 😊
Very beautiful played. I really got goosebumps, and that's a sure indicator of quality.
But the best thing is always the way the different Maeves look at each other so warmly.
I love the arrangement and your playing Maeve. ♥👂.
Thanks Klaus. That means a lot coming from you. 😊
I saw the title and I thought I was getting a Lou Reed cover. I didn't get that but this was awesome!
Nice interchange. Thanks you!
Really beautiful playing!
Thank you! This is my favourite style to play, honestly. Broad and flowing.
That sounds really nice. Is that a frumpet on the left?
Thanks! Instrumentation in the description 🙂
...who plays the Tuba😮...😂❤
Second from the left.
sorry with so many mouthpieces your mask doesn't get damaged?
You mean my embouchure? Playing multiple instruments doesn't seem to have a negative impact as far as I can tell? Although it's possible I don't play at a high enough standard on any of them to feel like it's factoring, when compared with much more obvious impactors like when I last did any practise! On the other hand, I do definitely see benefits. For example, playing trombone has brought more conscious breath control, and playing horn has improved my offbeat "oohm-pah" rhythmic accuracy. 😆
