- Steve Burns hosted the children's show "Blue's Clues" for 6 years, wearing a striped green shirt and solving puzzles with the help of his blue dog and viewers like you. Now, he's a musician and is about to release an album with one of the members of The Flaming Lips called "Foreverywhere." We chatted with Burns to find out what it was like being the victim of a death hoax, why he quit the show, and what he has been up to lately.

He's an awesome dude that took one for the team because he didn't want to start balding in front of children audience. Steve going to college was a big deal when I was a kid. My mom and I wrote you a good luck/goodbye letter.
And for the record, Joe didn't deserve the hate. He just had a big chair to fill.

@Anthony Robinson Yeah, I get that! I just have a softer spot for Joe because I'm on the younger side, so I basically grew up on Joe the most since I also watched Blue's Room! Luckily my dad made me DVDs of tons of Blue's Clues episodes, and that's how I also got to know Steve when I was younger. They're both great hosts, and it's no wonder how they made so many kids fall in love with the show~♡

Oh my god, Nickelodeon accepted his pitch! He appears in the first episode of the new Blues Clues and he has a detective agency! Hopefully it's not the worst in the world.

Just like the above commenter, I had the official notebook. I wrote down everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in it. I would go on car trips and write down everything I saw, even things I'd seen a billion times before. In other words, I became Steve. Lol.

Tony Boling There actually was an episode from the original Blue’s Clues where Steve was a detective. It was called “Blue’s Big Mystery”, which was Periwinkle’s first appearance on the show. He was the answer to Blue’s Clues and the mystery, although Steve didn’t say “Case closed.”.

Blues clues was my sons favorite show. My husband took a trip and brought back a " Blue " toy. He's 28 and we still have it with his Buzz lightyear toys. I know this was recorded a few years ago. He is the one singing the intro to "Young Sheldon ". Mighty little man.

Being born in the 90s, Blue Clues was one of my childhood favorites, but I stopped watching it after the new actor came in, gave off different vibes. This guy made the show fun with his innocent/pure childlike looks and energetic body expressions. His voice was calming and convincing that we were helping him solve a clue he did look/sound clueless. He seemed very kind to Blue even though the dog was a cartoon. It's sad he left but I did too, and we all needed to grow up.

Steve's departure hit me hard. Around that same time after Joe took over, my favorite ice cream man fell ill (which I didn't quite understand as a child) and his brother took over the truck. He wasn't as fun as Franko. I couldn't understand why everyone was being replaced by their boring brothers. lol Also, my oldest brother got married, moved out of state and I didn't hear from him much. Even my own brother had to replace my other brother!

I didn’t watch much of Sesame Street but I was hooked to Blues Clues until he left and I felt abandoned by my bro. 😭 I’m glad I can watch new Steve clips. It is a balm on my broken child heart.
