I cannot get enough of "The Frydek Madonna." It has haunted me since I first heard it on the soundtrack of "The Unbearable Lightness of Being," back in 1988. This is fantastic!
Reid Butler Same here. I can't help but associate it with that final scene of the film (one of the most moving in all of cinema I would argue), in which Tomasz and Teresa are driving along that country road, unaware that they are moments from death. She asks him why he's smiling. "I'm thinking about how happy I am."
I have the same experience as you, since I saw the movie The Unbearable Lightness of Being, I am a fan of classical music and Janacek, I listen to this piece of music very often, get into peace and rest, I love it so much, in my country (the Netherlands) we have a film music week, you can make a choice of the favorite film music, this piece is my number 1
I am fascinated by Janáček. It is so simple sounding, but yet so complex once you get into it. As I was saying on facebook, your interpretation is wonderful. You bring out the subtleties that far too many neglect. And, it is only my humble opinion that the subtleties are what make this such a fabulous work. I hope one day to encounter you at perhaps a competition or some other piano related forum. I would treasure hearing some of your experiences along the pianistic path.

Todos salimos de la sala del cine tarareando The Frydek Madonna, que maravilla aunque quizás, qué tristeza por la película tan maravillosa que acabábamos de ver.!!!!

Am visiting Brno Czech Republic right now.. thought I check this famed Leos guy out. I get it, excited to get into it. Lovely.

This is so beautiful! Thanks.
Très bien joué! Bravo!
Na madrugada fria ouvir Janacek is something good. Very good. para mim pelo menos.
This isn't actually the complete "On an overgrown path." This is only book 1.
very fine beginning
don't want to be that guy, but 2:26 misreads the score (a couple of notes) - hope that helps!
OH God... is so fast! more Andante, please
