Can’t believe you guys have memberships for your track that’s so awesome. Im paying about 250€ per day here in Germany and memberships simply don’t exist

It’s so crazy right? I didn’t realize that was a thing until I moved here to Texas. In California/west coast, it’s similar to you, around $225-300/day. The memberships typically require an “initiation fee” of several thousand and then monthly around $280-300. If you plan on riding 1-2x a month I think it is worth it over time.
The other fun thing is once you’re a member you can host friends! :) so if you’re ever in Texas let me know!

Again another video doing exactly what I’m looking at doing soon! Good to know WERA licensing isn’t multiple days long, just one day. I’m excited to get mine. Thank you for sharing everything you could!

Thanks Ryan :D we should probably ride some time hahaha
Yeah they have you volunteer here for 2 days and complete 2 race weekends before you’re officially a Novice. It’s a process. The AFM was much more straightforward.
Anyways, now it’s time to practice and prep the bike and get her on the grid in 10 days!!!

@@vtranmoto volunteer as a coach? Interesting, I would love to know the entire process. My goal is to get my license and compete in at least one race as a novice, but that’s just the lie I tell myself so my wife doesn’t get frustrated with the extra costs lol. We definitely need to ride sometime! I like your style my friend.

@@ryanlowe2808 volunteer as a corner worker! haha, we have to wave flags all day for 2 days. I wouldn't pretend to be able to properly coach anyone, in fact I'm trying to get lessons scheduled for myself next month! so much to learn and work on.
ditto! I'll keep you posted with the East Coast travels. we'll meet up at a track one of these days!

Do you need to be running advance pace before even attempting to get licensed. Reason I ask my wife and a couple buddies would like to try out the endurance team racing. Not everyone is as fast as the others and I was wondering does my wife need to be in advance pace to be able to run endurance with me? We are looking at the CMRA circuit as We call Hallet home track. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Hi Geoffrey! Really great questions! I'm by no means an expert, but happy to help however I can.
      A few things:
      (1) There's not really a requirement in terms of trackday groups, the most important thing is safety for the racer as well as everyone else around them. There can be a huge range in terms of pace during a race for any given class, but the key is predictability and being comfortable on track with other racers. Intermediate or Advance for trackdays is just one part of the equation. I hope that makes sense! So the question would be, are ya'll predictable/consistent on track and comfortable with passing/being passed. It's a little different for everyone.
      (2) The other thing to consider is: what is everyone looking to get out of racing? Love of competition? The environment? Trying something different/new? There isn't a "right" answer and everyone's answer may be a little different as well. For example, if your answer is "I want to win!" then I would say, definitely consider getting more seat time and being at least midpack in the Advanced group or even consider getting coaching before racing.
TLDR: All of that said! I think you guys are Intermediate/Advanceish, definitely JUST DO IT, especially at your home track where you'll be comfortable. Endurance is also literally the best way to get a ton of seat time, meet the CMRA community (really great group of folks), and just have a ton of FUN as a team. Try out the experience, then figure out how often/regular you want to race.
Hope that helps and also please check out the CMRA facebook group: facebook.com/groups/74457149502. Always a great resource and way to meet some folks/learn about race bike setups, etc. Thanks again and hope to see ya'll in the paddock!!!
