I don’t have one but my good friend flips a ton of golf carts every year. It’s pretty decent cash that he makes. What he says is that over time he gets to know the types of problems they have so he knows what to pay and how to fix and flip them quickly. I like the clean install that you did and the amount of weight you eliminated. Nice work! 👊🏼
I bought a used EZGO Golf Cart in fairly good shape for $2K. I use the cart on my ranch for moving hay, cleaning out the horse barn, etc. It is a daily work machine. I installed an EPOCH 48V LPO4 60ah battery kit to it ($1700). The Kit included the Wi-Fi and 12V conversation kit. The performance improved dramatically. As for the dash, I removed the old plastic dash and cut a plastic replacement piece for the battery gauge. I also installed USB A/C charger for the dashboard and new lights. Overall, I only spent 4 hours on the project. I also sold all the old batteries for $400. The cart is stored in an insulated garage, but it is not heated. When the temperature gets to 10 degrees for a week, the low temperature protection on the batteries kicks in and does not charge. I am thinking about adding a small electric blanket around the battery to keep it warm when needed (maybe 10 days a year). I don't think I could make $2000 over my expenses for the cart. Good idea if anyone can find them cheap enough.
Awesome job as always Kyle. Love your attention to detail and I'm very jealous of your fabricating skills. Keep it up. Love this kind of video. Very easy to watch and very well edited. Dave
I so badly want a golf cart for the property but all of the stuff you fixed is exactly what makes me hesitate in getting a used one. BUT, if I had a guy like you, it would be worth every penny to know it was fixed up right. Nice work as always!!! 🤠👍
My last golf cart build was about 5years ago, I made it street legal in Florida with a title and all. This video makes me want to build another with that battery setup. Awesome job on building your neighbors cart.
We have a 6 seater that we bought originally for our campground but have found uses for it at home during the off-season like taking the kids to the playground down the road and going to the Christmas tree farm over the holidays
My wife bought a cart last summer…. I have 4 in various states of being. Restoring a gas one now and once I sell that one I am using the $$ to get a lithium for the next build
Machine! We have an Ezgo that we use in our campground near Patoka Lake. It’s almost a must to have one for visiting neighbors, hauling firewood and transporting our “honeypot”.
Were not far from there. We eat at that bar/restaurant right next to the winery. I forget the name. Bennys? I always see the campers and golf carts running around.
I would definitely be interested in a “rehab” cart. We have a horse farm with gators and tractors and ATV’s, but it would be nice to have something like this for short little jaunts around the farm. That price point would work as well.
I bought a EZ GO 48v three years ago. I rebuilt it from front to back so it looks pretty sharp, now the lithium battery has gotten popular but i dont want to waste the money i spent on the lead acid
Love the attention to detail in all the aspects of the stuff you do. It absolutely pains me to watch most people work and just give stuff the old "she will be right" method. Got raised to know that if your going to do a job its worth doing right, and once.
Fun reno! I for one would be interested in a deeper dive regarding the wiring challenges you mentioned that you ran into, if you're so inclined. If not, cool. Thanks!
Problem is, there are golf cart flipper vultures all over that scoop up anything for sale locally. I see deals on marketplace listed 30 minutes ago, message the seller and they always say someones already on the way to get it. Got lucky and nabbed a 2003 gas Club Car this summer for $1800 (most are over 2500), just listed and by the time I got there the seller said he already had like 8 more calls on it. I always thought golf carts were flimsy but they indeed are quite rugged work horses. Super handy around my 5 acres.
I bought the one that came with it. They were pretty new when i got that setup. Its worked well for me. I use a 30 gal husky because thats what i had . I would say thats the bare minimum.
- You are very meticulous. Overwhelming obvious by the organization of your shop, property and projects. - Wife and I (retired) moving from Indiana to a small town in NC, Pinehurst. Big golf community that allows golf carts for local street use. We’re non golfers but I’ll be looking for a used cart upgraded as you just completed. I’m guessing there’s a fair share of flippers in Pinehurst but I’m keeping your vid as a guide. - Upgrading carts is a perfect side hustle for you. I mean perfect.
Dont have one, but am looking at getting an electric machine of some sort for the property. I dont want another engine to maintain. Costs of new ones are a bit crazy, may need to just convert or do something like you did. But Id prefer it be 4wd and have the ability to move my trailers around. Tall order I know.
Very cool upgrade. I wonder if people that comment about the Dogs, understand dogs are cautious around new things? I want to get an Electric golf cart and convert to a one seater off-road dirt buggy. Why, to help myself learn about my new plasma CNC and wilder and crop load of other tools I bought. Thanks, Spicer Designs. Beats the other things to spend my money on. Lastly, a safety tip. Never drive a golf cart with your foot outside like that. People get what we called PANCAKE foot. Never gonna dance are walk right again. Is Dossier gonna get any bigger? The girls are gonna need a saddle. Haha
I’ve been giving up coffee for hot tea. Less heartburn. Middle age sucks. Also, no disrespect , but you gotta get off that Keystone and get some decent beer. We’re sophisticated middle aged men now. That’s “woods party” teenager beer 🤣
@curtwhite876 that sounds worse. I just tore all the soft tissue and ligaments between my pointer finger and middle finger. It was very painful but nothing broke.
I sent you a message a few weeks ago about Bama Bass here on YT needing a big metal sign for his new building, hope you got it but still dont see anyone made one for him
I did see that. I haven't tried reaching out to him about it yet. Thanks for the suggestions. Sometimes it's tough to get in touch with larger TH-camrs for collabs.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC He asked for someone to contact him about it, looking for a large laser cut metal sign...very cool design too, he must have a way to contact just send all caps LASER SIGN FOR NEW BUILDING
They have a ten year warranty and they are a third of the weight. This battery kit i used is less than $1500. Its honestly a great option vs lead acid. No corrosion either.
Follow golf carts modified group,I got one I’m building,48v eco lithium battery, navitas 600amp controller and motor, touchscreen stereo, custom seat covers, alpha body and light kit and will be listing it for $12,000 loaded clubcar precedent
If you were to do this on a frequent basis you would need to use nicer condition carts. What you are selling is the battery upgrade. Spending all that effort on general repairs is a money loser. Most purchasers are likely going into this assuming the carts are in nice condition to begin with and that isn't what they are paying extra for.
This 36v Lithium battery kit is on sale for $1459.00... Check out my Amazon Affiliate link: amzn.to/4gY4AKC

Thank you! There is some money to be made with these carts.

a good chuckle to start my Saturday Morning. Thanks for what you do.

Thanks Dave! I appreciate that.
Great project. That dash gauge is nice! :)
Thanks Chad!

Sounds like a road trip to Southern indiana
Thanks for the mention brother. Great video I might have to upgrade my golf cart battery to this one also.
Another great video. It’s amazing how talented you are.
I appreciate that
My last golf cart build was about 5years ago, I made it street legal in Florida with a title and all. This video makes me want to build another with that battery setup. Awesome job on building your neighbors cart.
Thank you! It was a fun project.
👍👍👍 More juice!!! (and more peanut butter)
Your neighbor is fortunate to have you to upgrade the machine. I’ve purchased 2 “upgraded” carts. 💩Yours was masterfully upgraded! Nice machine.
2006 EZGO TXT PDS. I used the Big Battery outfit you hawked on the last cart. Been a worthy project for the weight saving.
Carts are not cheap around here, so I use the old jeep on the farm. I would get a utility sxs so I would have 4 wheel drive. Great video as always!
Outstanding video. You are one talented lad. Very impressive. The your daughter’s smiles while on the sled are absolutely priceless.
Thank you! The girls are so much fun to be around. Great smiles.

The more I watch your videos, the more I get the urge for a big ass property where I can ride a golfcart...

Yep, Benny’s off the water. Closed for the season but generally good grub. Golf carts and campers seem to go hand and hand.
I would definitely be interested in a “rehab” cart. We have a horse farm with gators and tractors and ATV’s, but it would be nice to have something like this for short little jaunts around the farm. That price point would work as well.
They are super handy and quiet. We use ours all the time.

Ya i may throw something together for that. Its not too bad
very cool, Kyle !!! and the girls and Mom, too !!!!
Yes I have a gas cart , we use it on the property and the kids use to to get to the bus , long driveway and just driving it around with their friends!
They are nice to have around. Pretty safe for the kids too.
Kyle, I don't have a golf cart , BUT I do have a working LOG SPLITTER! 😂
Nice refab on the cart!
Money maker!

Have owned 2 golf carts, both gas Yamaha MACHINES. Recently switched over to a Polaris General as our city legalized S x S use.
B E E F Y M A C H I N E! Great vid man, it amazes me how people beat the hell out of those golf carts. Oh well it's their money!!
Nice! did you buy one of the plasma cutters that Langmuir sells? or use your own? How big of a compressor do you need for your setup?
I bought the one that came with it. They were pretty new when i got that setup. Its worked well for me. I use a 30 gal husky because thats what i had . I would say thats the bare minimum.
Love the video. Dozer stole the show for me. Great Dog!
Hes a great pup
With all the tools you have, I'm sure you could 3D print a cap for that charger cord! lol
I could. I do have a 3d printer.
MACHINE! Uncle Bob's here rock'n the algorhythm.
Cart needs a lift kit! Great job. Excellent cable management ❤

Neat project!!!

They do have good battery side by sides now. Expensive but may be a good fit
Show me how did you wire the key switch to those lights?
I can make a separate video on that when i do it to my cart. It worked great

Thanks! Dozer is 11 months old bow so he might get a little bigger. He probably 85-90 pounds right now.
Nice upgrade. Nice "MACHINE"
Lithium is hard to beat. It would be a way better flip if your excavator was involved in making said 'flip' happen. 😅
Hah! I thought about it at one point
Looked like you nearly blew a testie getting that battery in. 😂
Nearly? I blew both
I’ve been giving up coffee for hot tea. Less heartburn. Middle age sucks.

I have a gas one and use it around town. I have had it about 5 years
I had a couple of friends who flipped a golf cart about 20 years ago. One of them was hurt pretty bad...
Yikes. Thats horrible. I flipped my sode by side once. Crushed my hand
@SpicerDesignsLLC Ouch! I ran my hand through a serpentine belt on a 5.0 Mustang when I was 17. We should compare scars!! Lol
@curtwhite876 that sounds worse. I just tore all the soft tissue and ligaments between my pointer finger and middle finger. It was very painful but nothing broke.
Nicely done... I want one instead of always using the Honda 4 wheeler. Can you drive one from there to Jupiter? I'll throw in a case of Keystone... 🍻
Would make for a good video

As you fab that internal tray with vent holes. Why not use Machine as the cut out instead?
Thats a good idea. I still need to create a cut file for that with all the bridges.
Being from Indiana I was hoping you guys were Irish fans lol!
I dont mind them but the wifes not a fan. More of Purdue or IU fans. And UNC of course. Her favorite
I just bought a Racka cart . Mainly to run around our 4 acre property.
Nice. Ive heard good things about them
Just a little FYI, you’re getting a like before I even start the video just cause I know it’s gonna be awesome.
Hah! I appreciate that Tony. Always look forward to your comments.
Battery is price is double what I can by standard ones for. So far I have 6 years on these. What’s the lifespan of the lithium ones?

Machine

Your welcome to do it however you want. I mades $1200 in less than a week. Thats a win for me.
