    The MK1 is the Combat Beads version that is really popular and never comes in stock. Maybe discountinued. So I ended up getting a MK2 also, but in zirc.... expensive little bastard.

      That's the one they did as a collab with JW Knives, right? I always thought that one looked great, but the bit storage on the MK2 is the killer feature to me!

      @@KnifeNerdery Yep, thats the one. I always wanted one, so when the mk2 dropped I grabbed one. The bit storage is a killer feature. You can carry it with you or leave it in the car for on the go adjustments.

    Before I retired I worked in electronics. I have a butt load of drivers and driver sets. I keep 3 drivers in my knife maintenance kit. A Wera 813R quick release, Scout Leather Co. Copper driver and my favorite go to, a discontinued Titanium 4.35" driver from countycomm. The countycomm is the perfect size for me to put the proper amount force on pesky T6 screws.

      Ooo, nice recommendations! We have the Wera 813R in the lab at work, and I definitely love that one! (Wera makes great products in general, in my experience.) And I've almost bought the Scout Leather Co in Ti a bunch of times. It's too bad you said the County Comm one is discontinued. Is it the Gen 1 version of this: countycomm.com/products/tpsk-titanium-precision-screwdriver-kit ? If so, what all is different? That one there does look nicely done -- it has the thick part inverted compared to a lot on the market, which might make a firm grip a little harder to wrangle, but would give you access to tight/narrower spots more easily!

      I have the countycomm Titanium driver as well assuming it’s the same one, I can put plenty of force behind it and is my go to for spyderco pivots, as well as like you mentioned those T6 screws that need a bit more torque! My second driver is a scout leather co, Zirconium driver and it’s nice just doesn’t provide as much torque. My next one would have to be a Goodskrew!

      @@KnifeNerdery Hey very cool, I didn't know there was a version 2 out. Without having a version 2 in hand I can only guess from looking at mine and the one in the picture. From the specs listed, the length is exactly the same but it appears that the bottom section that holds the bit is larger / thicker. Perhaps they did that to give better purchase in that area? Or it could be just the picture making it look like that. The one I have is the perfect size like you said to get into tight spots. Mine did not come with bits. Thanks for listing this, I have wanted a second one for the general tool box, I will be buying one of these.

    Hi knife nerdery,
    If you like this driver then you probably gonna love the Kinetic Driver, omg this drive is just awesome I bought one myself. And no I’m in no way affiliated with them. I think are made by someone that builds a lot of cool stuff I believe he’s in Italy.

      Oh wow, what a unique and interesting looking driver! I'd never heard of that! And that is the polar opposite of this one, movement wise -- it's designed to spin as long as possible with inertia from the flywheel, where as this one stops almost immediately. Very cool idea!

  • @1jaasuh

    That seems like a very nice driver! I got the Audacious Concept Anso Knife Tool, which is exactly the same size and is a joy to use (also, no skulls!). I don't miss the bit storage, I have a CRKT 6 bit driver that keeps the bits and works for stabilizing free spinning pivots. If I get anything else that would make me a bit driver collector, wouldn't it? Not a bridge I'm willing to cross :D

    • @KnifeNerdery
      @KnifeNerdery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No skulls, no, but that one, too, has a pseudo-grenade motif! 😅 How have you been liking that one now that you've had it a bit, by the way? Don't think I've checked in on that in a while.
      I filmed this a while ago (a trend on virtually all of my videos these days), so I've been using this MK2 a good bit, and I honestly adore this thing. I didn't know how I'd feel about the tighter spinner on the back -- it is very smooth to spin thanks to the bearing, but stops almost immediately thanks to the magnet -- but in practice, I've loved the sensation of using it.
      It's probably not a full-on collection unless you're owning things with fully-overlapping functionality and size. Different thickness? You just got yourself more or less torque! Different length? Different grips! Different material? More or less momentum! Clearly you need exactly the right driver for your ultra-specific circumstances, right? This is a very flimsy argument, but whatever it takes to justify eternal gear shoppery and consumption!

      I'd say 98% chance this is a spam message advertisement, but in the unlikely event it's not, I *am* quite fond of the Milwaukee M4 electric screwdriver I bought recently! There's definitely some huge pros to having an electric motor behind some screwdriver jobs!

      Coincidentally (or perhaps not?!) he just dropped a batch of these right now on his site. The catch is they're not made out of ti, but instead Crazy Fiber! So they're essentially micarta, but super wild colors and patterns.
