Magic!
Lene Marie Fossen was an autodidact Norwegian photographer. She rejected the linear progression of time that forced her to go through puberty and stopped eating at the tender age of 10. She died at the age of 33 . Susanne Sundfør sitting at the bedside holding her hand
Oh wow, that's a very tragic story. But does show how much love runs deep for those we care for. I appreciate you for sharing this with me and everyone. I do truly appreciate you much love to you as always.
@@HighlyCombustibleReacts To add to Leo’s info:
Susanne composed the soundtrack to the documentary film «Self portrait», which tells the story of one of Norways leading photographers Lene Marie Fossen who suffered from severe aneroxia almost all her life. The film is a raw and honest insight into her acclaimed photography and her struggle with aneroxia. In her film-project she wanted to «undress» the disease, show it in all its horror. How it is to live with it. Expose the shame, confront the disease, break its rules for survival. She always had an inner glow from which she created, regardless of adversity. She really wanted to live and when she took pictures she forgot that she was sick and felt free. In the documentary we see Lene Marie photographing refugees in Greece.
She managed to see the movie before she died. Together with her parents, she decided that the film should be launched on schedule, it was important for her that her story could mean something to others and maybe help them.
She was only 10 years old when she became ill. She was hung up on the calorie chart and stopped eating certain foods. She wanted to stop the time when she was ten years old. She did not want to grow up, and eventually stopped eating. She denied her body from starting puberty, and struggled with severe anorexia from the age of 13.
For the last 7 years of her life, she ate nothing. She drank only nutritional drinks.
Her parents said that for a long time they felt the disease was not taken seriously. She was hospitalized on several occasions, but her parents perceived that the focus was only on weight gain and not so much on the mental part of the disease.
Beautiful! This is Susanne Sundfør’s original soundtrack to the documentary ‘Self Portrait’
Self Portrait’ is a Norwegian feature length documentary that tells the story of the Norwegian photographer Lene Marie Fossen. Lene wanted to stop time, and she was only 10 years old when she decided to stop eating. She struggled with anorexia the rest of her life. She chose to be open about her disease and is best known for her beautiful and revealing self-portraits. Her photographs are not about anorexia, but about human suffering. Her soulful portraits of victims of the refugee crisis on the island of Chios in Greece also bear witness of a unique photographer and artist.
Lene’s work and ambition inspired Susanne Sundfør to collaborate with her when Lene asked, composing the original soundtrack to the film ‘Self Portrait’. Lene passed just after the finalisation of the movie, in oktober 2019.
Thank you for taking the time to give the back story of the artist. This a very unfortunate event that happened. Again sending you love and truly appreciate you.

+ Especially the songs from the "Ten Love Songs" Album
This is beautiful, yet hard to watch at the same time.
Much love.
Heavenly!
Let me go back
To when I was young
Here, I was born
Here, I will die lonesome
Let there be light
Let there be love
Hear the bells
Ringin' our song
Wake me, wake me, wake me up, my darling
When the Lord has descended on us
All the worries that you carried with you
They are lost in a warm embrace
Timelessness
Far away
From the land
Where love is shame
And shame is love of a prison
Away from the dark
Snow-covered hearts
Softly, lay your hands on me
Wake me, wake me, wake me up, my darling
When the Lord has descended on us
All the worries that you carried with you
They are lost in a warm embrace
Timelessness
