This woman is the embodiment of a true legendary female artist and vocalist. Her voice is so full of emotion and control at the same time, which is a complete rarity. And mind you she is sitting down. She is masterful, an angel.
thank you for this reaction, i really appreciate it! god has left me anyway. some of her lines are just hitting so deep, the sadness pearls out of her mouth in such excellence and elegance, it pierces through... most people go crazy on aurora and angelina jordan, but here she is, the true queen from norway. i remember very well the two years when i lived in oslo, so many good concerts. i often visited a café called liebling in oslo grünerløkka. one afternoon i shared a table with a woman, writing lyrics in her notebook. it was her. a year later i attended a small festival, called audunbakken festivalen and they always selled 500 tickets. she headlined it in 2012. can you imagine that? she is a light in all this sad world. if you like, watch "turkish delight" from the very same concert. sometimes i feel too much and can barely handle it any longer. then i listen to sad music. so i won't die the slowest death.
So why compare ? Both Susanne Sundfør and Aurora makes theyr own music - so I dont understand why Angelina Jordan is mention in this, as she only do covers. The few collaborations she's had with others like Royksopp are beautiful and haunting. One of the few artists I've wanted ro peek into their head.❤ Good post.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody She has a surprisingly varied catalogue, everything from these melancholic dark songs, to pop, to epic, to simple singer songwriter stuff. And its all in the range of pretty good up to amazing :D
Thank you for reacting to this. Susanne has so many amazing songs, yet the few reactions I've seen are for the same few songs. While she's an incredible live performer, don't miss out on her studio albums. The production is amazing and not to be missed. Live performances have limitations as far as audio goes. She also performs with Royksopp.. their latest, "Profound Mysteries" is a triple album and is amazing from start to finish (especially songs with Susanne). :-)
The only song I knew with Susanne was the one she did with M83 called Oblivion, which I highly recommend you check out if you haven't already. Just for once, not even Floor Jansen's cover version could beat the original. I'm going to look for more of Susanne's own material after hearing this one.
Loved this. Check out undercover live.. that is also special. And if you want to really experience her greatness check out mountaineer... its ... indescribable.
Yes! The studio version of Mountaineers with John Grant is one of those songs that reaches deep into my soul. When Susanne joins in, I never fail to get goosebumps. Amazing, and I've never heard anything like it anywhere else.
The Mountaineer is a wonderful song, but I never listen to album version again, since the release of the album live at Barbican. She brought this song to the next level and this is the one I listen the most over a whole year, every artists and genres included.
"White foxes" by Susanne is epic too 🤘🙂👍 ...in similar genre, unique, less known singers are e.g., Ane Brun "Big in Japan" (cover), GEMS "W/O YOU" and Good Harvest "Woodstock", Patty Griffin's "Someone else's tomorrow" and "Forgiveness", etc. 😊
This was the first song i heard from her. It's so beautiful, her voice is truly special. The song was also in a movie, but it can't remember what it was called.. that song paired with that story broke my heart 😬

Ok lovely song and voice, I enjoyed the sound of the organ but it was a bit aggressive and drown out her voice in places tho, so I couldn't make out what she was singing most of the time. still enjoyable ❤ and ✌️
Ok,first girl can sing for sure. Second....I like the melody to this,it's really simple but it works well. The lyrics are deep but the is way.....WAY to much religious talk for me. As a Athiest I would rather hear NO religious stuff in my music but I can see why some might enjoy this.
