- This is a "how to" video, showing viewers how to change the oil and an oil filter in a motorcycle. It was a fast filmed video so some things may not be correct. Everyone has their way of changing oil but this is how I do it. Hopefully the video helps. Feedback is much appreciated so I can do better in the next video!

What about the oil screen that’s supposed to be cleaned at every oil change?
You are correct. I didn’t add it but should have mentioned if oil change is done regularly it will keep it from acquiring large debris.
Not necessary....If you check it once...and know your bike , with a healthy motor and regular oil changes....I leave mine for about 3 years between inspections.

Kawasaki (Japan) make metric bikes, shouldn't that plug be metric?
You are right, it is a metric bolt size. The wrench I suggested is another alternative for those who don’t have metric on hand. Good catch Beepbop!
@@bigacefilms saw on another video that the plug is 17mm. I picked up a 2005 model yesterday and will be changing the fluids this weekend. Thanks for the informative video!

I did my first oil change in my new to me 2005 Vulcan 1600 classic last weekend. I also removed the oil screen while doing so and am glad I did because it had a lot of debris that looked like metal shavings.

Si je comprends bien votre question, pas pour les plus grandes tailles de moteurs. Ils ont besoin de plus d'huile.
20w50 oil is commonly used in air cooled v twins like a lot of Harley Davidsons, but most liquid cooled bikes, like the Vulcan in this video, require 10w40 oil.

11/16 socket ? Bike is Metric. 17 mm is the correct socket.
