Hi Paul, really good to see that your up and running again, great video and was very informative, especially using the rustic paint like paste it gave the model some stand off texture and not looking flat. Eddie

Great effects. One addition could be the denting of the top lip of the wagon from loading would occur.

Interesting, I've not seen that rust product before. I use the Dirty Down Rust effects, they have a mold and verdigris as well

A lovely job, great to see the techniques you used, certainly a couple of tweaks I can stick into my tool box. Thanks for sharing, and good luck with the redevelopment

Hi Paul - Very interesting and please do not take this as a criticism but I realise they may look like that now but were they really in such a bad condition as that in the 1960's when they were in full use. I only ask because I cannot find any colour photos that confirm it one way or the other.
    Regards Chris

In truth, I cannot say Chris, and I guess few could, but the photo references that exist suggest that they were in full use and did look in many states of rust and bashing, cheers P

A much better way of weathering is using ordinary water colour paint mixed with washing up liquid it is quite robust when dry but can easily be cleaned off with water. For a permanent finish just spray it with a clear coat varnish.
