Here's a recap of the renovation story so far! My sincerest apologies if a recap isn't your cup of tea, I'm currently unavailable. I shall be making my unfashionable return next week, camera in hand, ready to take on the world! cheerio
"Unavailable"? - I do hope all is well with you and your parents. As for the recap ... it is always nice to look back and see just how far you have come. It is a simple reminder that accomplishments are achieved one step at a time, with hard work. Progress is progress ... and it is not always as fast as we would like, but it is always worthwhile! Until next week ...
Don’t let the negative comments slow you down. You have made a splendid professional video. It takes lots of work to film and work on your house! I am looking forward to your next video, work at your own pace and don’t let anyone discourage you! Love from Tennessee, USA!
Time does fly, it’s hard to believe you’ve been a homeowner for that long. You have done quite a lot in that time, it really does show how much one person can accomplish. Thankfully Nick has given you help and training to tackle the rest. It’s going to be a wonderful place for you to live in! Thanks for this overview!
I do want to mention how nice the facade of this house is-lovely tall windows framed nicely with the fretted iron work in front. You will really enjoy playing up those nice features once the basic rebuilding is done.
Ryan, I thought the recap was great! I missed a couple of your renovation videos and seeing this got me caught up in all that you've done so far. Ignore the trolls, they are just wanting any attention they can get. Negative attention to them is better than no attention they are getting, so don't feed the trolls. I'm looking forward to more next week.
Hello, from Texas USA. Ryan, I enjoyed this video so much. You out did yourself. I have followed you for a while now, and I am excited to see what you do with your place. ❤
Hope you and your parents are well. I worry about you breathing in all that dirt, dust and rotten wood fibers. It can make you really sick. You have taken on a monumental task of refurbishing your house and I for one love getting a re-cap now and then to refresh my memory on all you have done so far. Some people need to be reminded you are not in a race, but a marathon with a project like this and it costs a fortune for materials. Take your time to do it right, your loyal fans will be waiting to watch the progress you make!
Great job so far Ryan! Personally I LOVE a good recap, it really shows how far the work has progressed and you and Nick have done a fantastic job getting so much done. Keep up the good work, rooting for you with love from Georgia in the US!
Ryan, it was so fun to see a recap of all you've done. You and Nick were really a formidable team. It was also fun to see Billy helping out. Take care. We all love you. Cheers
Don't worry about the recaps!! Every renovation page does them when their busy doing something else or just need a break. We'll still be here to watch the new ones. Hope you're having fun and relaxing.
I’m so very glad that none of you fell through the floor during this deconstruction process. I’m also blown away at the sheer volume of dirt that was inside each floor! And never apologize to anyone about your absence, your true friends and fans will patiently wait for you to return and be happy to see you again. If anyone complains, they need to go kick rocks outside for some fresh air or something. Love you Ryan! 😘❤️😂
Thanks so much for the recap Ry!🎉 and we didn't have to breathe in any of that dust. The house is sure breathing a sigh of relief getting all that rotten wood out👌
True, and yet there is something magical in the moment when it is just you, and the house. Building a rapport, and an understanding between you. You have exposed her flaws, and now it’s time to replace them with love and artistry…you will romance her back into the beauty she. Has always had the potential of being. Learn of the families she has sheltered, and discover her true name.🖤🇨🇦
Billy's friend Edd is restoring an abandoned house also. He would be a Valuable resource for you. Both for finding materials and any engineering you might need. Give him a shout.
Thanks for the recap. It is good to be reminded how far you have come in a short time. Don't worry about taking some time off as we will all be here when you get back. Hope all is okay with you and your family.
I am house/ dog sitting at my sons for the next couple days and just had a chance to watch the recap. First off. You come first and I’m praying all is well with you and the family. Second you do not need to apologize but so kind and thoughtful of you to care about your viewers Ryan, but this because you are that man. Looking forward to your return. Take care and see you soon. ❤❤❤
A spectacularly beautiful home. Those floor tiles on the main floor are gorgeous. Cleaned, sealed and waxed for protection the colour would glow! Personally i would have kept them to use in entrance halls, bathrooms and the kitchen. Floors like that are both hard to find and increfibly durable. They are part of the history of the home.
Ryan, I hope life didn’t throw too big a curve at you this week. You have made a great start on your renovation, and I’m very proud of you, so I hope you are as well. I know you will take the next steps with appropriate Ryan enthusiasm and humour, and with care for your safety and the future of your house. It will all come together in your time and pace. You have a work list to guide you, and a materials list as well. It’s just like fitting the pieces of a puzzle together, and you have the picture to guide you in the house itself. Once you have taken a thing apart, you can see how to put it together again (with not rotten wood). It was fun seeing the demo stage recapped in fast motion, and here we are. You can make it better, and you will blend your vision and your DNA with that of the house. After this, you will be an integral part of the story of this very old home. You will grow together as she receives her reconstructive and facial surgery, and she will need a name befitting her new station. I have every confidence in your ability to do this, and bring her back to life as the stunning beauty I know she has in her to be. I hope you can find her history in the town archives, so it can remain as part of her story. There is work ahead…but it will be fun and rewarding, every joist a new foundation for a floor and ceiling that you will coax into being. Keep smiling Dear Man.🖤🇨🇦
Ryan, your recap is better than others new videos ! It's seems the work is going faster than I remember...Keep On Cracking...Hello 👋🏻 from Southern California 🌴
Ryan, sir, that was fabulous!!! A reminder of 'all the work done so far' was greatly appreciated. I think sometimes, those of us who anxiously look forward to viewing all the work you accomplish, forget it takes hours, and hours, and hours of time, days and days and days. Sore muscles, hammered fingers and wrists, twisted backs for thigh muscles get over looked in our desire to "become part of the viewing community! Thank you for taking the time you did have, to put together "The Recap." Quite wonderfully done! Looking forward to another Humor-filled video when you are able!!!
Recap is still something! Hope you are doing well. We have had a ton of rain here in Virginia USA. Every trip I make to my shed I have to wear rain boots the ground is so saturated. I’m working on restoring an old wood vanity and I’m not breaking any speed barriers here. Stay healthy and we will be here when you get back.
True genius cannot be rushed, it evolves through time spent…not just getting it done…but doing it to embody your vision. That is when you know it is done right. You can tuck little charms and protections in various spots, inspiring poetry, and traditional folk building traditions, like an old, well worn shoe in a wall. That should mess with the Archaeologists of the future nicely.💖🖤🇨🇦
WOW! Basically you bought a tear down! Bummer, but when it'a all new and fresh, you will think back with amazement! Did that happen? YES!! Keep it going💕
Ryan, Greetings from Georgia USA. With all that you've dealth with in this renovation..... A Well Deserved Break is warranted! Put the Kettle on the boil and crack on..... 👍✌
I loved this ! What a great compilation of what you have done so far. When you were clearing the floors I could almost smell, feel the dust/ dirt. I can’t wait to see what your home becomes!
Great work Ryan, so pleased to see Billy and Nick giving you a hand. It’s great to have friends that help each other as you have done for them. Can’t wait to see the next Vlog, love watching you renovate this cottage. Thank you Ryan 👏👏💝💝🇦🇺
Haha! All that dust flying around had me holding my breath and covering my nose and mouth with a tea-towel. My hubby and dog think I`ve gone mad. Keep on keeping on Ryan, you`re doing marvellously so far.
Hello from California! The amount of dirt in these floors is insane! IT's going to be amazing when it's done. Keep at it, and keep showing us your progres!
I’d love to see the back of your house. Curious what it looks like. Great work so far, Ryan! It’s going to be awesome at the end and well worth all your work.
Great job on the renovation video. Really shows how hard you are working. Hopefully you are well and are fashionable enough to return to your project. It is one big job and doing this alone it is over whelming. My best advise is to do your best and keep your spirits up.
It’s been very interesting so far Ryan. I learned something new about dirt on floors. Never in my life have I seen that. I think your home will be beautiful once you start putting it back together. Can’t wait for your next episode. I’m very proud of what you have accomplished so far.
Seeing all you've accomplished in the past 4 months, you've earned a break. Thank you for this, it must have taken hours to compile. Admire your talent.
I went straight in to Mum mode saying, please don’t fall, please don’t fall. Love that you have taken on this project and are uncovering secrets of it past life.
It's very wonderful to watch you and your friends restore this house. So many sad things are happening in this world, your hard work and honesty towards each other is a joy to watch.
Great recap! Now you have it all in one place to refer back to. You’re doing lots of hard work and getting many surprises along the way - we’re all enjoying your videos!!!
*Ryan, a recap is great to see what has been done from when you started to now, with help from Billy & especially Nick. It also helps any new subs see what has been done. Plus this is your channel so you can put up whatever you want. QUESTION: Ryan how is the next door neighbour coping with all the noise and dust? The locals must be also wondering to, when they are watching all that rubble coming out of the windows etc. See you next week for the next installment of demolishing, cos soon you will be rebuilding it all to look so amazing. 🙂nz*
Let quietly be heard by a villager, that someone left a cache of valuables brought from Paris for safekeeping here during some unrest during the building of the house. Appear to find the odd item or clue…the villagers may come to you with stories. Meanwhile, be putting in new joists and, insulation, and boards. Incorporate symbols that protect and preserve. She will grow in beauty and mystique…and you will learn stories of her past.🖤🇨🇦
The recap gave me a vivid realization. As much hard work as it took to gut those dirt floors, it boggles my mind how they would have gone about getting that much dirt up to the second and third floors! BUT think of the insulated value those floors have had for so long!
Youse have shifted several tons of dirt from just the old floors, never mind the dodgy plaster and flimsy partitions. So much less dust to push around every week when the house is finished. More open spaces for flexible planning and use is a godsend in the longterm. Great progress.
This was fascinating to watch all of the little surprises this house had. It's also heartening that you salvaged some of the floor tiles that went to new use 😊
Ryan your place that you are renovating reminds me of Ed and Anna’s place that they are renovating. They and your self having to take it back to bare bones and start over. It is going to be wonderful for you in the end and you are learning so much with great friends. God bless🇨🇦
Hope all is well with you Ryan. Thanks for the recap, it's amazing how much work has been done so far. Slowly but surely it will all get done. Look after yourself. 😊
The work you and Nick did to remove those dirt floors was incredible Ryan. Then getting all that dirt from each floor out of there one bucket at a time. You are Nick work so well together. I was glued to the video the first time around and was so glad when it was over and you were both safe. So what do I do ? I watch it again of course ! Hope all is well with you. 😀
Here again from Milwaukee WI. Ryan, I have been watching for quite a while now. I loved watching this reminder of how far you have come with the renovations. It's amazing. I have to admit that seeing it all compacted into one video was overwhelming for me because I realized how it must have been for you each step of the way. I couldn't be more proud of all of your hard work and devotion. I'm so happy that you have Nick by your side to help you with this major project. I'm confident that once you start rebuilding, it will be so rewarding. I can't wait to see your next video.
Nice to take a walk down memory lane so we don't foget how far you come. I'm just glad you found all the rotting wood before you got too far into renovating. Keep up the good fight, Ryan, we're here for you! xx
I’m glad you decided to use the salvaged tiles in the basement. I like the idea of using the bags but you could use a bin of some sort to hold it up for you to shovel into.
Ryan I am so glad that you did this one as we all need at times to look back to see what we have started with, worked on and the achieved. I had forgotten some of these things and I am very impressed with your journey so far. To any nay sayers, wheres your channel?
Ask Billy if you can use one of his dust pipes from the convent . Loads easier then the bucket method xx 🎉 It's great to see progress Ryan , happy that daddy moon is there to guide you ❤ 😊
Ryan, you’ve been very busy on this house !!! There’s more to do , and I’m looking forward to watching every bit of it !!! I imagine a beautiful home with lots of parties with friends - and the basement is an ideal spot for a ‘ Speak Easy ‘ vibe !!!! ❤
Amazed at all that you have uncovered so far in your renovations. It's interesting to me to see how they built things before modern materials. The absolute thickness of those tiles combined with the dirt floors must have been an incredible amount of weight. Looking forward to seeing how all of this comes back together! See you soon!
Ryan, it might be good to use metal beams instead of wood ones. I think they can last longer. I love what you have done so far. You have accomplished a lot. It was nice to see the whole process so far.
These are good for those who are new and want to catch up quickly without sitting through hours of videos. Hopefully you won't get too many complaints. I've been watching from the start so I'll just skip through this one. Thanks.
Here's a recap of the renovation story so far! My sincerest apologies if a recap isn't your cup of tea, I'm currently unavailable. I shall be making my unfashionable return next week, camera in hand, ready to take on the world! cheerio
Like the saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day just take your time Ryan and life gets in the way at times look after yourself ... 💜🙏💜
Meh. I feel cheated!🤣🤣🤣✌️🤘🇨🇦
Stop slacking and CRACK ON 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨

I agree. It is a gem needing a good polish. So glad you have your friends to help you and advice and make sure you stay on course.

I enjoyed the recap too. Any time watching Nick Moon is time well spent and when he’s with any of my other favourite folk it’s time well spent ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Loved the recap Ryan!!!!! Amazing how much you have accomplished in 5 months. Take care and see ya when you return.
Ryan what you have gotten done so far 95% of the people would never even try. Celebrate its all up from here!

Hi Ryan … good to see you💕
I just read this info:
BTW….. the purpose of the dirt under the tiles was for insulation to help keep heat in the house !
I wondered about that! Thank you for supplying the answer👍🏻 I wondered if it were some type of "cement" they tried to create back in the 1800's
WOW! Basically you bought a tear down! Bummer, but when it'a all new and fresh, you will think back with amazement! Did that happen? YES!! Keep it going💕
I cannot believe y'all didn't bust a single window while taking those floors down! Bravo! (Brava?)👏👏👏👏👏

Love your humour and what you have achieved, ❤️❤️
Love that you saved the tiles for a greenhouse! Can't wait to see more of this house renovation
Hi Ryan.
You have gone a milestone so far in renovavating your house.

I enjoyed seeing the recap even though I've seen each episode. Looking forward to new content next week.
It's really good looking back especially when it reminds us how much dirt you both actually removed.

I'm confident that once you start rebuilding, it will be so rewarding. I can't wait to see your next video.
Nice edit Ryan. I’ve watched all of the weekly updates but so good to see that recap. Just the sheer weight off all of that dirt on the boards!!
Brilliant Ryan. Enjoyed it very much. Keep on going on. Im certain it will be worthit.
Loved to see the recap Ryan. This helped me to face two nights worth of dirty dishes in the sink. You are an inspiration!!
Recaps are fine and honestly a good one for you to save for yourself in personal file, for later. I look forward to more when you have it.
Hard work will pay off ~ Very Proud Of You ~ Lucky to have great friend's ~ {{{Hugs}}} ♡
All I can see is what a wonderful house that will be when you are finished. I am so glad you finally found a house and have tackled it. Love it!
Ask Billy if you can use one of his dust pipes from the convent .
Loads easier then the bucket method xx 🎉
It's great to see progress Ryan , happy that daddy moon is there to guide you ❤
😊
Good job - you are learning so much and should be very pleased with your work and proud of what you are accomplishing.
Just found your channel today, what an amazing accomplishment in 5 month's, can't wait to watch the rest of your journey. Kia Ora from New Zealand
It is good to be reminded of where you started and where you are now. Anxious to see the new wood going in. The facade is lovely.
Looking forward to the next video! Will be great to see Ryan replacing the joists and beginning the build.
Recap videos like this make a nice catch up. Also good to remind us how far you have come along.
These are good for those who are new and want to catch up quickly without sitting through hours of videos. Hopefully you won't get too many complaints. I've been watching from the start so I'll just skip through this one. Thanks.
My goodness Ryan ! What an amazing video recap. I have been watching your adventure. Keep up the amazing job. Hello from Nova Scotia Canada. 😊
Great recap footage!
🎉🎉🎉
Howdy from Houston, great video, that is a lot of work. You are doing great, keep going.
Looking forward to seeing you again.
Ryan you have accomplished so much, well done, keep the good work up.
Wow! You’ve come a long way! Terrific job Ryan.
