I’m surprised no one said nicotine as their first drug tbh. My experiences in order were: caffeine (no telling lol), alcohol (17), nicotine (18), weed (22). I’m open to trying shrooms at some point.
Shrooms taste disgusting, like mouldy cheese and dirt. Here's my trick: purchase some empty gelatin pill capsules, grind up the mushrooms into a fine powder, and fill the capsule to your liking. Take it like a pill and voila, no nasty taste! You can also use this trick for ingesting CBD/THC oil, which I also think tastes nasty.
Its interesting to me that throughout this video what constitutes "drugs" for some people is so subjective, some people not considering alcohol or cannabis as a drug for example. @@2much4you97 if i gave you a cup with lemonade and alc and put a magical hypothetical pill that removes the alcohol taste. you drink the whole thing and you are telling me you aren't going to think you were "drugged"
I think a few of us definitely think of alcohol as an intoxicating substance, but since it’s something you always drink, we categorize it separately. When I hear drugs, I’m thinking marujuana, lsd, shrooms, or things you snort, ingest, or inject.
The actual first drug that I took was LSD. When you're at a college party, never take unwrapped candy. This girl had apple jolly ranchers that she was handing out, so I took one. I didn't think twice about it because it was just my group of friends. And after I took it she told us it was dosed with acid. I never moved from the chair I was in until a cab showed up to take us back home.
@smolkittenuwu For me, it just made colors seem brighter, the music seemed louder, and time seemed to slow down. And her excuse a couple of days later was... I thought everyone knew what they were?
Oh that’s horrible someone could killed them selves thinking they were going crazy and she could’ve went to prison for that… I mean she could’ve gotten charged just for handing out candy that had acid in it bruh!!! Damn at least you were ok and had a alright trip thank god!
I've never even been full-on drunk, I think two drinks is the most I've ever had in one night, and I just like maintaining control of my brain. Having addiction in the family gene pool does that to a person.
I feel exactly like you feel. I had a lot substance abuse problems in my family as well. I even had to witness one go through an overdose (luckily made it out alive 🙏) but yeah...I never wanted to touch ANYTHING after witnessing that as a kid!
the more that people realize that alcohol is a drug the more we can realize a problem with this being the “okay drug” to have, instead of weed. if it alters your brain and the way you think, it’s a drug
The problem ain't the altering, obviously, otherwise we would not give ritalin or adderall to kids and the notorious Xanax together with mother's other little helpers to people struggling with the complications life offers, while we still vilify LSD and Mezkalin as badly and ridiculously as it's vilified. The problem seems to be the direction and outcome of the altering that's done. Weed as being a premium psychosis starter ain't a good "OK-drug" either, by the way.
@@fuhrfhrei3441 I didn't call that psychosis-starting property of weed exactly "bad", did I ...? Denying this property is the problem, not the property itself. As it is with each'n every other drug including the "bad" ones. Just like weapons or progesterone-inhibitors: It depends what people *_do_* with it and *_how_* they do it.
All drugs scare me, but specifically cocaine. Especially as someone who takes vyvanse (I have a valid prescription). That being your first drug of choice is wild.
I'm prescribed adderall, but I was initially prescribed vyvanse. It was waaaaay too strong for me, I couldn't feel my body's cues, so I had no idea when I had to eat, drink, use the bathroom, etc. I would work until I almost passed out. Thankfully I only filled that prescription once and was switched shortly thereafter. 😅
@@laneatkinson6441 I'm really grateful for how my doctor approached it. She started me on the lowest possible dose for a week, then incrementally increased it week by week until we hit an amount that worked.
It’s interesting to think about how many people answered this question with answers that were not alcohol. It’s become so desensitized and socially acceptable in our culture that we don’t consider it a drug anymore. Yet we still apply a negative stigma to those who smoke pot, a drug proven to be less harmful to you than booze.
Psychedelic’s definitely have potential to deal with mental health symptoms like anxiety and depression, I would like to try them again but it’s just so hard to source here
Psychedelics are the reason why i didn’t take my life when i was at my end. I was stripped of my ego and saw the beauty of life and interconnectivity and even though i still battle anxiety and depression, I’m doing better everyday and will never think in such a self destructive way again.
LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."
that chicc who said she liked being in control of their body is really relatable to me as much as i want to escape from myself sometimes i prefer being in control and would pick being clear minded over an induced state
I find it odd how many people don't think alcohol, weed, or Adderall "don't count" just because they find them socially acceptable. Yet if someone did heroin every day before work so they wouldn't go into withdrawal they would be looked down upon because of the stigma.
Opiate addiction is an epidemic but it’s the difference in physical dependency. I.e. weed isn’t physically addictive and opiates have always been notoriously physically addictive. Crazy withdrawals. Obv there are exceptions but a *casual* marijuana or alcohol user prob won’t have any physically painful withdrawals if they stop
I'm actually prescribed adderall and I always take it as directed, is there seriously such a large amount of people that use it as a recreational drug?? That explains the insane hoops I have to jump through in order to get my meds 😑

The guy about 2 mins in with the ear stretchers makes such a good point. Why has alcohol been deemed okay by society when it's actually really harmful lmao such a weird world
Kinda funny how alcohol is like one of the most dangerous and abused drugs and when people hear the word “drugs” they don’t think of beer/wine/liquor, not even alcohol sometimes. Just shows how much society can have an impact on one’s thought process
The first drug I tried was LSD. Next was shrooms, last was weed. I must say, LSD was my favorite. My favorite memory to this day was my acid trip on the last day of junior year in high school.
The first drug I did would technically be anesthesia for a tonsillectomy when I was little but when I was 15 I smoked what I thought was weed, (which I am pretty sure was K2) and had a seizure. Not saying that to scare ppl because I smoke now and having a healthy relationship with some drugs is okay if you can handle that.

@@caoilte8097 if you have ever felt happiness in your life it is literally, invariably, because of drugs. I’m surprised how common it is. I have never done any drug, not even weed or oxycodone. Like that girl said, I like to be in control of myself. I have also seen what drug addiction could do to a person on TV/the internet, and I want no part in that. I have been offered drugs by friends and some definitely thought I wasn’t “cool” or whatever for refusing, but I can live with that. I do drink, but my drinking is limited to a glass of wine every other night with dinner or a nice cocktail when I eat out with friends and family. I don’t ever get drunk because to me, drinking should be fun and enjoyable. And losing control of myself and having a hangover the next day is the opposite of fun and enjoyable. I know I sound boring af, but fuck it I care way too much about my health and well-being to risk it all just to say I have done cocaine or I get fucked up drink every weekend. No thanks.
Ok but alcohol is a drug. And cocaine in moderation (for example in the form of coca tea and coca leaf chewing, but also in the form of intranasal cocaine hydrochloride) is probably less dangerous to your health than chronic alcohol comsumption as ethanol is highly carcinogenic. If you want to be in control but you still would like to try a drug (at your own risk of course) you should look into psychostimulants. You would be more lucid and in control under cocaine or amphetamine than you'll ever be while sober.
i mean honestly you do sound lame but i totally respect what works for you. same thing for me there’s literally no substance i could name that i’d want to use every week. i like having my brain in control and when i tried weed it was pretty scary at the moment for me lol
@@Dynamaik0220 I am not familiar with drugs, but since when is having a glass of wine with dinner = doing drugs? Edit: Just looked it up and alcohol is a depressant, which is technically a drug. Wow. Never thought of alcohol this way. What if I don't ever get drunk? Does that count as "doing drugs?" I guess that would be like popping pills or smoking weed WITHOUT getting high. Does that count as "doing drugs" then? I guess I am just going off of what people typically associate with "doing drugs" as I have never heard of drinking alcohol being called doing drugs. For example, someone who is addicted to alcohol is called an alcoholic, not a drug addict.
My reality is waaay different. I'm from Portugal and the proportion of people who have/haven't tried drugs would be almost the complete opposite (not counting with alcohol ofc), and the drugs would be really "soft" compared to those mentioned here.

Scared of losing control because I feel like I sometimes have limited control of my thoughts and feelings as it is... Many times in the past I’ve had suicidal thoughts which seemed to be happening in my brain subconsciously so I had no control over them. 2. Scared of becoming addicted, as definitely have a predisposition for it; I’ve gotten addicted to porn, to masturbation, to dating apps, to cleaning certain parts of the house, literally anything my fucked up brain can get its hands on :( 3. I don’t really have any irl friends at the moment who I’m comfortable enough to be able to try anything with. Lots of young impressional people on here who will feel abnormal watching this not to have taken drugs. Also, the girl laughing about how she got high for the first time at her parents house (when she was therefore likely very young) with a guy who encouraged her to take her top off at the time worries me, as does the ‘yes girl’. Just so many bad messages in this video I think it needs a disclaimer or something.
I think this video has more of a healthy and educational message than most school drug education campaigns as, in a certain way, it removes some of the stigma and mystery and sensationalism surrounding drug use which does in fact contribute to all the problems related with excessive drug use and substance use disorders. The only way we can properly adress the topic of psychoactive drug recreational use in a balanced and rational way, in order to minimize the harms associated with it, is to completely remove the taboo and talk openly about this complex subject. And this video has some merit in accomplishing that.

Shrooms taste disgusting, like mouldy cheese and dirt. Here's my trick: purchase some empty gelatin pill capsules, grind up the mushrooms into a fine powder, and fill the capsule to your liking. @beck Ehh, I'm very sensitive and picky to smells/tastes/textures so I'd probably be too grossed out to try it. Weed edibles taste bad enough 😂

the more that people realize that alcohol is a drug the more we can realize a problem with this being the “okay drug” to have, instead of weed. if it alters your brain and the way you think, it’s a drug
same for nicotine and caffeine
The problem ain't the altering, obviously, otherwise we would not give ritalin or adderall to kids and the notorious Xanax together with mother's other little helpers to people struggling with the complications life offers, while we still vilify LSD and Mezkalin as badly and ridiculously as it's vilified.

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself
This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. Ok but alcohol is a drug. And cocaine in moderation (for example in the form of coca tea and coca leaf chewing, but also in the form of intranasal cocaine hydrochloride) is probably less dangerous to your health than chronic alcohol comsumption as ethanol is highly carcinogenic. so long story short, doing drugs helped me become the person i am today. im slowly pushing them away and teaching myself that your mind empowers any feeling that you have. what youre doing is awesome and im so happy to hear that you have that control over your body that a lot of people dont have:) im very very close to being at that spot!!
@@tashfireopal sorry i wrote so much i just get excited about talking about these kinds of things😂😂 ive grown so much!!
@@tashfireopal Then you have "tried" drugs. Drug is an umbrella term-
Alcohol, Weed, Acid, Percocet, Coke, Adderall. the coke was more than likely laced with Fentynal, and after my brother Overdosed and died I got clean, 19mths and counting. we do recover
Nice bro

Bro was on a dif plane 😭
I first had alcohol when I was 5? It was wine and I loved it.
But I first got drunk watching the great gatsby at 16. It changed my life, got my astrology chart read, good times.
Who let you have wine at 5?
