The floors look absolutely brilliant - you should be very proud of yourselves. And your drunken decision on the green shower tray really works in the bathroom - good job!
Fantastic job figuring out those floor tiles! This is the best close-up view of the whole process that I have seen on TH-cam. And, that darling dog is a living teddy bear. I’ve never seen hair that color; a hair dyer’s dream.
I have an IKEA squeegee in my shower which I use on the glass after each shower. It prevents soap scum and hard water from building up on the glass. That being said we also have a water softener system in our house which also helps.
Thank you so much for this, this is truly something I need to see. Life has been very stressful and as I have been trying to find a new job for months that brings more joy has not been easy. I also feel like I find myself looking, but deep down knowing it's not what I want and doing just to pay bills. You and your creativity and journey has been a true inspiration to really figure out what to make out of my life, and make it worth living. Thank you for bringing this peaceful content and I wish you the best ;)
Thank you so much, that's such a nice comment! We're true believers of following your heart rather than doing what society tells you to do. The only things you will regret in life are the things you Didn't do.
You guys are doing a fine job, everything looks great. I am so happy for your guys, that you finally have a bedroom and bathroom, everything is coming together, I bet you guys can't wait for the kitchen, so you can start preparing meals in your house. Also, if ever come and visit the area, I would like to cook for you guys and show you a couple of recipes that you will enjoy!!
Thank you so much Christine! 100%, I cant wait to have a real kitchen again. However, the 2 hob outdoor kitchen is working surprisingly well. The biggest challenge is that we have SO many mosquitos in the evenings so cooking outside drives me crazy. Can't wait to have an oven as well. That's so sweet of you!
Looking really good, you guys! You have done a TON of HARD WORK. Congratulations from Maine, USA! 😊 (Oh, P. S. We use a squeegee after every shower. It does help keep the hard water marks away to a fair degree!)
@@OurItalianDreamHouse Hahaha...the squeegee goes a long way in preserving the sanity of this neat-freak! 😂 Looking forward to your next IG post and/or video, you guys!
Hi, everything is beginning to come together nicely and you are moving "fast" forward. I suppose that you have, by this time, learned to tile quite nicely. And even it took long time it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that you are happy with the result, and why not because it looks great! I suppose that you are living hottest period of year there, but as you know up here weather is starting to cool fast. Best of luck for you!
Hi Matti! Hope things are good with you. 100% right, in the end we are happy with the result and that’s all that matters 😁 It’s has been exceptionally hot here, too hot really! But now it feels like it might finally cool down, the end of summer into autumn might be my favourite time of year. Have you had a decent summer up there? Lots of time on the lake I hope 👌
2 ปีที่แล้ว
@@OurItalianDreamHouse Yes, we have had excellent summer up here. It has been warm and winds have been relatively light. Visiting summer cottage several times, trolling trips to lake Puula and lake Inari. Soon it is time to start editing videos.
Adding the finishes is always so rewarding. Try to enjoy the process. Once you have finished you have memories that will last a lifetiime. As someone who has done a lot of tile it is fun to watch you learn. Hope my son and I can visit when we come looking for his home in the spring.
Nice looking work - great job. I am no expert, but have laid a few tile floors. Consider that one of the purposed of the grout, when "shmushed" between the tiles, is to flow under the tile to file any voids at the edges, giving the necessary support. The excess mortar you applied also does that, but requires extra work to clean it out; if you had not, it would definitely have been visible and unsightly. Your place is looking terrific.
Looks great, I am no expert on tiling but to save you a lot of time in cleaning out between the tiles, Place the the next tile so it touches the already laid tile and then pull it away to the correct distance. You should have a lot less of the cement in the grout lines this way. I really like the herring bone pattern
Haha no worries. This is the way they tile around here, learnt by our 85 year old piastrellista, so we decided to do what the roman’s do so to say 😅. Thanks, we’re really happy with the tiles too.
So nice, congrats on making such great progress! I really understand the feeling when tiling, we also missed a bit when we did our kitchen, and had to scrape in between to remove excess as well. Tedious work, but turned out really great! All the best!
Hi, just ran into your channel and you are doing great work. As to the hard water spots in the glass shower, I have the same problem but use a squeegee to prevent them. It works~
I grouted a lot of tiles. but you have mixed the paste too hard, it must be just before the tendency to flow - if the paste crumbles when you apply it, it's too thick and when applying it is better to use a smaller spatula. the mass is applied crosswise. I'm 67 years old and I grout such a small room in 10 minutes.
Guys there is one small trick. Use the flat un ridged side of trowel to knock down the ridges of mortar next to each tile joint. Too late for these jobs next time
The floors look absolutely brilliant - you should be very proud of yourselves. And your drunken decision on the green shower tray really works in the bathroom - good job!
haha THANK YOU!
That herringbone looking great! 👍🏻😃
Thaaanks! It better look great, it's tedious work 😂
The tile in bath room is beautiful and vanity
Thank you Ciara. We absolutely love it too :)
Tack för en fantastisk serie med videos!

Men åh, stort tack för en jättefin kommentar. Och så himla roligt att ni gillar att följa vårt galna äventyr :)
Love your willingness to learn and go for it! I thought I saw bamboo on your path in the garden 😳. If so, get rid of it now! So invasive.
So nice of you, thank you! haha you're right, unfortunately it has already taken over a big chunk of that land.

Wow, thanks! Yes, his hair is really unique and super soft & fluffy 🤩
Looks like making a thousand Apple Jam Jars :D
The Tiling is amazing. Good Things will take Time and Ernie is so cute. What a Fluffball.
Hahaha, next year!
Thank you so much. Ernie is a little ray of sunshine.
What a progress!! You're improving so well! Keep it up guys.
Thank you so much Ale 😍
Yes you are doers.very nice job on the tiling.especially in this heat.

Wow, looks good for that price, even a patch of grass for a pup. ❤
...nice job on floor!!😉👍
Thank you Nimueh!

Great tip, we have just bought a squeegee too. We will look into a water softener at some point I think as well 😊

I made it.....not a hard task by any means. I would still make it to the end if it was an hour long! Loving watching your progress.
Haha aaaw, thanks Natalie!
Oh and any chance you can give us a recap of your over all progress on the house next episode? Thanks! :)
That's a great idea Eric! We will try to do that :)
Love the tile you choose, great work. Have fun with Ernie. Cannot wait for next video.
Thank you Cynthia. He's a great little guy 😍🐶
It is progressing beautifully
Thanks Eric!
Well done! The herringbone design was a good choice although a lot more work but looks great. Keep going you are almost there!!
Thaaank you Yawar!
Awesome efforts- the tiles looks brilliant
Thank you Kelly!
Tiling looks great. Love your fluffy helper. I grew up on an apple orchard in NZ so loved seeing yours
Thank you Leigh!
Tiles are gorgeous. Very farmhouse-like. Nice job. Keep it up. So lovely to watch your progress.
Thanks Josh!
it is amazing how the walls are so wonky. We had the same situation in our 13th century fortress in Tuscany. You did a super job!
Haha I know. We kind of love the look of them being wonky though. However, for tiling we'd love very straight walls and floors 😂
What progress!
Love the herringbone pattern too, fits the tiles perfect 👍🏼
Cant wait for the next episode!
Thank you Henrik 🥳
Every time I shower I go over the fixtures with my towel 😊 takes only seconds and you have no Calc on there 💪
Great tip!

I see the elk at 8:15 - we have a similar elk called Alg(ernon) }:O
hahaha, oh dear noone was supposed to see that. His name is Aomen and he's my secret bff since 1992 and now the mascot in our family 😂
Very nice vlog 🤗
Thank you Judith!

Yuo make a good job❤️
Tack Mamma!
Great job, really coming together, the calcium on the shower glass can be really hard to clean, hope you can get the filter soon.
Thank you Maxine! Yes, fingers crossed! We just got a new Brita filter for drinking water and it's surprisingly decent haha.
