644 acres sold for $20.7M. That's roughly $32,143 per acre. Kamehameha Schools could have easily bought that land, although KS has ALWAYS been the largest private land owner in Hawaii, ever since KS was created during the monarchy. With over 360,000 acres of Hawaii land, and using only about 3% of that to generate income, the endowment of KS is over $14.7 BILLION. When challenged in court, they dropped their religious discrimination. They also dropped ROTC because the military does not allow racial discrimination.
