Just a beginner here, getting my first Ultra, next week, but I like to see more of the setting and adjustments you make and why. Really good information on the techniques used for us newbies.
Hi! Firstly, welcome to the channel and to this amazing hobby! This video was made soon after I got the machine myself for the first time. I've been using and learning it myself since then and I'm hoping to make a full tips and tricks video in the new year covering settings etc. Good luck, happy hunting and feel free to ask any questions you may have 😊👍😎
Always good to get a ring before you’ve started! Excellent video! Loving the intro! Hope to see you sporting the shades in the next 😂Keep em coming -GNG 😎
Funny things I have a legend coming and got a good deal on a Ultra and it will be here soon too, I have done a lot of water hunting with my CZ-21 over the years, but won't be using it anytime soon (Great Machine) Would you say use the Legend in the water over the Ultra because of Multi Frq would be more stable and deep,? I will try them both out, just wonder what you think[ Thanks
So question for you how do you connect the Bluetooth whp headphones to the simplex ultra? No instructions in the box on how to do so nothing on youtube. And every connection for the legend or the simplex plus are different. Please help!!!
Different types of machines...it's not really fair to compare them. Generally the Legend will find more and it'll be deeper. It's more adjustable etc. The Simplex is lighter, easier to use so better for less experienced users.
I agree with @DTEKTSUSSEX in the easier to use for beginner part. My first detector is the legend. I got it as a Christmas present last year and still afraid to touch the settings for one you have to use the manual because it’s not intuitive at all. Just symbols with no description. Is this sensitivity stability or recovery speed? You don’t know you have to memorize the buttons and navigate so many submenus. Another is why do detectors have different target ID#s like a quarter is 50 on the legend and 65-70 on another machine 40 on the next. One would think having a larger max target ID would be better as it gives a better range for me and the minerals in the soil here a dime, nickel and pull tab are all 30-35 range. Bottle tops 50-55 same range as quarters.
It's definitely a steep learning curve to go straight to the Legend. I used a Garrett Ace 250, then a Simplex+ before moving to the Legend and the machine makes so much more sense having built up to it. Having said that, if you're willing to be patient and take your time with it, you can learn the ins and outs fairly quickly. It's more intuitive than a lot of similar machines!
@@DTEKTSUSSEX well i just recently took the plunge and purchased myself a brand new equinox 800, as I’ve become fond of the hobby so I may as well go high end as I’m gonna use it for a long time
Tricky one because the Score isn't finalised yet so hard to compare. On paper, if you're doing a lot of beach/mineralised work I'd wait and see what the Score can do. SMF tech tends to be better in those locations, although the Ultra is still performing well there!
It's a great machine! All beaches are different so you may need to deviate a little. If the machine is giving you lots of chatter, drop the sensitivity a bit to compensate 👍
@@DTEKTSUSSEX yes sir that's my problem when I'm in wet sand it's a bit noisy. especially when there is a little black sand mixed with white sand. but it is good to use in the dry sand
Hi Paul, You know what? I'm not sure that I have! I'll add that to the list. Probably another week or two with the Double Score then I'll start rotating the machines again 😊👍
I haven't seen a depth comparison test yet between both simplex so would be great to finally see one. But you have a couple ways to do it. Because the ultra has a variable recovery speed I think you need to compare recovery speed 3 on the ultra with the deepest setting on the older model. Then put the recovery speed to 1 and see what kind of advantage it has then. Should be interesting.
Thanks 😊 It's not really fair to compare the Legend and the Simplex to be honest. An SMF machine will almost always be deeper and find more than a single frequency one. Plus the Legend has so many advanced settings and features that you can use to fine tune to the environment you're in. Having done the Simplex+ vs Simplex Ultra depth comparison today (video due Monday!), I can say for certain that the Legend is definitely deeper 😊👍
It took me a while to tune it in but now it's AMAZING on the wet sand. Perfectly quiet and powerful. I'd recommend the SX24 coil for it too. Very stable and transforms the machine!
I don't have an X-terra to compare but with the build quality Nokta are famous for vs the build quality Minelab are...I'd probably go with the Simplex 👍
I've already done the Legend with all the coils so I'll probably stick to the two Simplexes for now. It's not really a fair comparison putting an SMF up against a single frequency machine.
Hi Adam , when you get time on a rainy non-detecting day (?) can you run through some ideal starter settings for newbies on the Ultra. Perhaps half for beach settings and half for field settings. Have a look at th-cam.com/video/IAKr84u4vBA/w-d-xo.html done on the Simplex + to see what I'm getting at maybe. At 10.00 Sid does a summary run through to round up , but sometimes he's a bit quick and doesn't always have the camera clear on the screen to show what he's doing. I'm sure yours would be perfect though. Only if you've got time of course young man. Ha ha. All the best , love your channel and subscribed. Paul , Southampton.
Being a beginner to metal detecting this new model every 6 months from same manufacturer is disheartening. Like they claim this is the best detector and has top of the line programming etc. Then 5-6 months later they release another thats way better with better features and accessories like coils and such. I have the Nokta Legend. Just got it for a Christmas present but now I see this simplex and feel cheated. The OS seems way better the red lettering to indicate ferrous targets. The better menus and stock coil.
You misunderstand. The Legend and the Simplex are very different machines fulfilling very different purposes. The Legend is a simultaneous multi-frequency machine. It's Nokta's flagship model with advanced features, settings and performance. The Simplex range is Nokta's entry level offering. It's cheaper, only single frequency and has significantly fewer settings and features. In basic terms, the Legend is still the superior machine. It'll find you more and it'll find it deeper. The Simplex is designed primarily for beginners or as a back-up to more experienced users. You already have the better machine. Get out there and enjoy it 😃😃😃 Let me know if you have ANY further questions...either here or via my Facebook page, and Happy hunting! 😊👍

My cat was taking a nap next to me when you hit the pinpoint mode.. woke him straight out of it.. thought it was another cat 😂
🤣🤣🤣👍👍
Brilliant opening sequence! Keep 'em coming.
Very fun - I am really liking the Simplex Ultra. Might have to get one this Christmas. Onward!
Good vid once again. I vote in favour of a comparison video. Ultra, + , and Legend.
If you could do the air test with all 3 Noktas I'd be interested in the results
Excelente 🙋♂️🇨🇱👏👏👍🤝
Good luck!

Great video Adam and an airtest would be great
Great video as usual Adam. Well done.
Nice Token💰💰
Gracias hermano!!
Greetings,
did you search with ultra under water? Is a smaller probe better when diving?
Hi,
I don't dive but I would think a smaller coil would be beneficial.

Hi!
The Ultra works well on the beach but the Legend will definitely perform better there. The Ultra is a coin magnet on the dry beach and land areas!
Yes, please do an airtest comparing the Simplex+ with the new generation (preferably the BT) Simplex detectors.

Hi!
It's coming out this afternoon 😊 I only have the Ultra to compare with, though.
So question for you how do you connect the Bluetooth whp headphones to the simplex ultra? No instructions in the box on how to do so nothing on youtube. And every connection for the legend or the simplex plus are different. Please help!!!
Turn the Bluetooth connection setting on in the machine's settings (last icon).
Turn headphones on.
They should then just connect automatically.
Would love to see the comparison of the two Simplex.
How does the simplex compare to the legend?

good day sir. what is your settings in the wet sand?
Beach mode and then keep all settings in the middle of their respective ranges (recover, iron filer etc). Discrimination custom 8 and above.
