I love all the classic Castlevania games. Dracula's Curse is my favorite.
You and James should try meeting up with Kinuyo Yamashita, the composer of this game. She lives in New Jersey from what I understand.
today i've learned that Japanese version has an easy mode where Simon gets half the damage and doesn't jump back when hit. Also, less hearts required for sub-weapon and He keeps multiplier and sub-weapon after losing life. I completed it today in ~20 min.
the easy mode is only in the rerelease version of 1993
the original cartridge of 1986 has no easy mode

Out of all the streamers, you guys are my fav because it as close to being 10 years old again, hanging out with my bestfriend playing video games all weekend. And other shit like that.

This game is not as good as that sailboat "game" for Phillips CDI you and James played for this past Monday's video. That game was mind blowing.

when i saw him chnage from Triple Shot Holy Water to the boomerang, i was like "NOOO!!". and he didn't find out why it was reset:(
I can't beat the grim reaper with the holy water
roarface1993 If you want to beat him with holy water, you have to preemptively start throwing the holy water before he appears. If you wait to throw it when the grim reaper shows up his scythes with still hit you. But, if you do it early enough, then he won’t be able to move and you can beat him very easily.
I have tried doing it that way but he still moves eventually even if I keep spamming the water. I guess my timing is shitty or I don't whip enough
roarface1993 it might also be that I tend to have double or triple shot for the holy water. It probably is a lot harder if you are only shooting one at a time.

I've never been able to beat this game, but I might be able to now as an adult. I couldn't beat TMNT as a kid and as an adult I can without too much difficultly
Yeah that's happened to me many times. This game, Zelda 2, 7th Saga...all ones I had to come back to later. FInal Fantasy 1 I was able to do at 16, but not when I was in the single digits! XD

The mummies are actually one of the easiest bosses to defeat, believe it or not. The block u break to get the porkchop, leave it, go to the center and trigger the mummies. Straight after run back to that block and jump on it. Crouch and just keep swinging, the mummies won't be able to hit u and u can keep damaging them when they walk close to u.
that's what I always used to do as a kid

He's a lot easier with the knife than with the axe, actually. Literally the only place in the entire game where it CAN be worth switching to the knife. (of course, if you have holy water, you should stick with that)
One of my favorite games of all time! Thank you Mike! I find it amusing you got your ass kicked by the Mummies but destroyed Death in one try. Haha :)

keeping the firebombs with the shot multipliers makes every boss way easier. Phantom bat you still want to use the axe with the double shot, and dracula I prefer going into that fight with the boomerang with double shot, but the firebombs will decimate every other boss in the game. also, you need to get all the hidden treasures, points = extra lives in this game. Also, firebombs will wreck the axe throwers and they'll always drop a big heart if you kill them with a firebomb.
in the beginning of the room where you fight Frakenstein, the second candle is the knife, so avoid second candle if you're sticking with the holy water for thst fight.

Also, I've always wondered... But is there ever a situation in the game where the knife is better then the boomerang at all? Outside of having nothing else in the slot, why would I ever want the knife over the boomerang?
Cool Mike. I have yet to beat this game. I can get to the Knight right before the Reaper. But that and the stupid Medusa heads get me every time. lol
Wow, I ve only played this game in old MSX. They called it Vampire Killer in Europe like in Japan. I had to search for weird keys in that game and I ve never got pass level 3

how the hell did you make it look so easy? This game had me pulling my hair out but once i beat it i felt so fucking relieved. I hear part 3 is harder. I don't even think i want even try to beat it.

This needed to be 2 player co-op.
At the mummy fight, u can just sit on that last stone (the one with the pork chop in it) and keep whipping the fuckers, they can rarely hit you from there, that is how i did it :P

I once beat the grim reaper in 5 seconds using holy water and roman numeral 3.
Getting to the Grim Reaper with holy water is easier too, because it totally demolishes the axe knights.
19:00 im no lotr master lorer or anything but i belive the eagles could not intefere between the wars of the middle earth . Gandalf as no power over them ,they may choose to help . but in nothing that could be considered as an attack.

What? I think something like Bubsy would be a GREAT candidate for a remake. I mean, you see all these other remakes of games that are already great. They don't need them. But bad games? Look how much room for improvement they have! Like, what are you going to do to Ocarina of Time to make it significantly better? Now think of how any number of simple changes could make Bubsy better. See what I mean?

Haha funny playtrough, but man grim ryper and the final boss is hard,but for what i,ve seen you can kill that final monster faster by throwing holy water in his face rather then on his body.

Giant eagles aren't very stealthy
Classic Castlevania always _looks_ easy...until you pick up the controller and realize that your character controls like a rusty shopping cart with 4 bad wheels.

Because James doesnt play much video games & he doesnt know how to live stream, and he spends most of his time making videos & he has a family :)
He collects them, i mean he doesnt play much games in his own time, besides what he does for Cinemassacre ^^
