Nice! I've used Incognito only once so far but the beer was (is) excellent. I emailed Yakima Valley and they said the best way to use it was in whirlpool but what I did was, at knockout, took a few liters out at about 200 degrees and added the Incognito with some Citra pellet hops (they suggested the hops will suck up some of the oil and make things not as sticky) and let it sit there while I chilled the kettle then I simply added it to the fermenter. Simple and it worked.
like your videos dude........the DIPA looks very delicious and crushable..........lutra Kveik is a very brewer friendly yeast.........I used it for a bitter and the beer came out very sessionable.........by all means u can rack onto your yeast cake as long as your process doesn't introduce any contamination..........cheers and have a good one....
Did the same thing to my cream ale. It’s fermenting on day 4 on a yeast cake of 34/70 from the last beer I made, works every time! Would like to see more dip hoping vids that’s on my next brewday!
Liked this video a lot, thanks for sharing. I believe that I'd try to make a 9l starter in my 60l fermzilla one week prior brew day and use one bag of dry yeast, decant the starter with the floating dip tube, and from there continue one week later like you did....
I’ve heard chatter about the great dry yeast being one shot wonders, but on round 2 I just do the old school oxygen addition thing and the yeast seem happy.
Love the two kettle idea. Might take inspiration from that when I start using my propane system again in the spring. Also, plan to brew with some incognito in my next brew. Stoked to give that gooey hop goodness a try. Cool to hear someone else doing dry hop in a clear beer style during high krausen for that extra hop kick. Everything I read online tries to say if you dry hop during high krausen you're going to end up with a hazy beer! Well, if it tastes good then whatever. Anyway, love the system, love the video, love the beer! Cheers!🍻
Double Dribble! Now I need to see if I still have that one for NES. I need to try this! Been brewing a lot of Blondes lately, so the perfect starter for an ipa or other stronger beer. I think I might have to copy BruSho and go for a pastry or something like that. Cheers! Also, you need more water bottles in your garage.
Very helpful information, thank you! New subscriber here. Did you chill your wort? It looks like you transferred directly from the brew kettle to the fermenter.
Hey thanks for watching and subscribing! I did chill my wort. I use the jaded hydra immersion chiller. Since this was Kveik yeast I only chilled to 78 for this batch.
Any chance you can comment briefly on your water chemistry? I’m a rookie and the beers I’ve brewed have this weird taste that I think the tap water is introducing. I’m mainly looking for “why use beer salts with distilled water” (you’re using beer salts, right?) and how much you use. I know my mileage will vary. Just hoping you can potentially point me in a direction. Thx
Water is a great place to start looking when you have that “weird” taste. I use distilled water because it’s a blank slate. RO water is basically the same but doesn’t get quite as blank. I always add calcium chloride, magnesium (in the form of Epsom salt), and gypsum. I have found that for my taste I prefer a balanced profile, adding more equal amounts of each. I will also add 88% lactic acid to lighter beers to bring my mash ph down a bit. I highly recommend using Brewfather for your water additions! It’s pretty simple to get started. And I would absolutely brew a batch with RO or distilled to see if that taste goes away!
Jfc please just stop with the too loud music beds. I can’t even make out what you’re saying at times. Either turn the volume way down so I can hear your all important talking points or just don’t talk and put captions up. Also, brew inside. The garage is for cars not bikes and other junk.

Dude. Thank you so so much, you're too kind. That beer though... looks fabulous! I'd love to share a beer with you some day.
Hopefully we can make it happen!!!
Hope you and the family had a wonderful holiday. Thanks for the content.
Thank you!
I recently racked onto a yeast cake when brewing a pastry stout and it turned out fantastic! A great way to brew big beers
Absolutely! And I get to be lazy about cleaning 🤣
Fastest fermentation EVER!!! Kveik is already a beast but this time was crazy!!
Looks absolutely amazing!! Amazing fermentation time!
Fastest fermentation ever!!!
2 or 3 batches then cleaning, I've been doing this for years. and I also use this all rounder fermenter. It's a good methhod, cheers.
Glad to see gnome stopped buy🤣. Racking on a fresh yeast cake is the best…fast and furious. Great video

@@ElementaryBrewingCobrewed a hefe on a yeast cake that was 8 months old... lol had to toss in lutra to get it roused up
Nice looking brew! Reusing yeast cake is a wonderful tool to employ for sure!

That’s a good idea, to add it to the hops first!
Did first batch with Lutra and I am in love with it! Those little buggers are ferocious!
I love the speed but the resulting crispness is what really has me hooked! Great for really drinkable styles!!
My last brew was a Barleywine that I fermented on a DIPA cake. Worked great!
Those big beers need a healthy starter for sure!

It is a great technique! And I’ve had great results with the dip hopping as well! I’m sure I’ll be doing more videos about it!

Ya this one came out fantastic!!! It’s relatively clear as well, but flavor is sooooo goood!!!

I loved that game! That and NBA Jam. I stole the image from the double dribble to use as my label for this beer.
How much does distilled water in containers like that cost in America because where I live in Ireland it is very hard to acquire and very expensive?
$7 dollars per 5 gallons, delivered to my door

Sorry if this was answered, but to clarify you just poured your new wort onto the yeast from a previous fermentation?
Yup, that's it! I kept the yeast under pressure in the fridge for a week prior and then just racked it right on top.
@@ElementaryBrewingCo amazing. Trying this next batch haha!
How do you feel about the 5.2 ph stabilizer
Do you have videos or your cream ale recipe? I actually want to replicate this exactly.

Here’s the link for the cream ale. Worked as a great starter but it’s still a nice easy drinking pint as well!
@@ElementaryBrewingCo you’re the best!! Thank you! Keep up the great content.
very cool
You should try the spectrum fry hop liquid
I’ll try and get my hands on some of that next!
How did the incognito work?
Hard to tell really because of the other hops I used. I really should have just used incognito so I could gauge the impact.
