I just finished the thrust arms. That was fun. II noticed these were easily movable back and forth while mounted on my X5 so yep, I'll be replacing those as well. Thanks for the video!

@@jcx2bby I kept going today by replacing the sway bar links. Between that and the thrust arms, I'm beginning to think my shocks are still okay even though I'm clocking 115K miles now. I also finally finished my transfer case fluid swap and calibration. This is tricky. There are 3 different transfer cases out there for the E70 and every video I watched showed a version different than mine. I finally figured out I didn't need to take the cross member out, and that there is only 1 plug on mine. It, along with swapping out both front and rear diff fluid 2 weeks ago has made an incredible difference.

Good luck with Meyle brand. I regret buying those because the boot started to wear off less than a year and the grease started leaking. I would opt to go with lemforder(BMW) or febi. I will post a video soon.

What is the torque rating of the sway bar link bolted joints?

If I recall correctly from the BMW torque guide, it's somewhere around 40nm which is approx 30 ft lbs. Don't quote me on that. With suspension pieces, I have done so many that I just go by feel anymore, especially on a 'non-critical' thing like an end link. For big suspension bushings, I go about as tight as possible. But on tie rod ends, sway bar ends etc, I probably am somewhere in the 30=50 ft lb range. Sometimes, on joints like this, you can only just get 'so tight' because the inside joint will spin as you tighten it. Unless you use an impact or find a way to hold it still.

I replace all my clients x5 links with these HD versions and they work better than oe.

Ok, good, I am actually relieved to hear that. They "looked" fine but wasn't sure about longevity.

It's hard when you're by yourself...sorry. This is a simple job anyway, most can figure it out easily.
