Those who are familiar with my channel recall that I had posted a number of mixes that have been taken down. I don’t intend to go into the details, but it had to do with some greedy rights companies trying to make money out of the channel while threatening to shut it down too. It’s interesting that they represent mostly bands nobody knew about, bands that were given a new life by channels like this. Rather than dwelling on the past, I have decided to bring the mixes back without those so-called protected songs to preserve this side of obscure 80’s new wave/post punk/goth. Let me know which song from the old mixes you’d like to see posted again.
00:00 Bab - Just This Once
04:02 Young Officers Movement - It's Alright
07:15 Blueprints - Down On My Sublife
11:17 The Point - After Seven

18:50 The Unstrung Harp - Sticks And Stones
22:32 Invisible Body Club - Zakhara
25:55 Paradox - Too Late
29:48 No More Wars - Echos

41:15 Technique Niquée - Astounding Success

I think somehow unknown gems of the 80s put you back even more in the atmosphere of the decade than the over-played hits. It s like being in an alternate universe back in the 80s and hearing new stuff from the era, as if this decade was still ongoing.
Exactly!…well put; you can really feel the raw true spirit of the era (in the early 80s) before it became the “ theme “ of the mid and later 80s
Welcome Back Daniel, I've missed you friend, hopefully you enjoyed the tracks I've showed you (:
Hey Zach hope all is well 🔥
@@80zforever All is well my friend, I hope you've been well glad you enjoyed the tracks I sent you, I've made quite a few discoveries since you've been away including The Senses Bureau 7" inch
You were missed and are appreciated.
Sticks And Stones of The Unstrung Harp is astonishing!!
Oh yeah
MASTERPIECE
I'm so glad you're back. Your mixes were with me during some of the best and worst times of my life. I discovered a lot of great music through your channel, much of which made it into my vinyl collection and much of which I continue to play on my radio show. In fact, I hear a few things in this mix that will definitely end up on a future show. Thanks for doing what you do. It's really important.
In a few weeks, I am going to be 55 years old (and I felt like I just boarded a time machine). Some of the doomer post punk bands of eastern Europe today's got a similar sound, style, and vibe...
Holy cow! Welcome back!! For me, September 18th will go down as one of my best days of 2023 🙂
Please know that you and your channel and your efforts are much appreciated!
Your mixes got me through 2020 🙏 thank you for the opportunity to hear these great bands from an amazing decade!
That’s great to hear! Hopefully these mixes will replace the lost ones as good as possible 😎❤️
Thanks Thanks Thanks, love your channel. The Last Cry - Going Away. My stand out Track
What a brilliant channel...so many new bands to explore... favs so far Technique Niquee and the Unstrung Harp many thanks!!
Glad you're liking it!
I'm so glad to hear these again missed them badly.
Nice to hear something from you again. welcome back and as usual a fantastic tracklist.
The last 5 tracks were my favs! Thanks for coming back ❤
OMG!!! you're back!!! when I saw your mixed deleted a few day ago I was devasted. So happy to see you back! Would be great to hear something from Yugoslavia
Yay! I was on the verge of despair, not finding these...
I am so glad you're back. I've gone through all your mixes and found so much obscure content I never would have otherwise found. Some of your songs are rare enough I was unable to find them anywhere else on the internet. You're bringing these songs back from the dead.
YAY! I can't tell you how many times I've played your mixes while writing code. It's disappointing that rights holders would try to shut you down, when I can attest that I've bought some albums thanks to your mixes - and like others have said already, some of the stuff you post is nowhere to be found. There are a couple of bands in these mixes that I can't track down to purchase. If they cared that much about making money, you'd think they'd be actually trying to sell the music. That's why I was attracted to mixtapes like this in the first place. You can't FIND this stuff. I didn't KNOW most of these bands before I found them here.
Have you kept up with Lost Wave community at all? There is another song people are looking to identify known as "C.I.A", "Coming Home", or "This Winter". It's a great song and seems like it would be right up your alley so curious to see what you think of it, or if you know it.
Thank you for this, these are the only thing that got me through my first year of college :)
Awesome to hear you have such a great taste despite being so young ✌️
Hey! Welcome back. Thanks for posting again. Love your obscure and beautiful '80s Finds.
No thank you. Enjoy the tunes
Omg please more synthpop !!!
welcome back, we missed you. I really liked First of May, The Cry and The Last Cry ... but it was a great mix. I have been obsessively looking for obscure 80s on vinyl ever since I found your channel, so thank you so much!
Welcome back. This is a good coincidence, I'm preparing for my university enterance exam.
Good music to go through it!
This one is among the best

Amazing to see an upload on this channel after so long, I remember going through so many of your mixes way, way back in like 2016 and pulling out hundreds of gems. I don't recognise these tracks so will give it a listen later. PS can I request Edinburgh by Fantasia to go on a list... only track by them I haven't heard.
Great to see you back !!! Thanks a lot for all your effort in the past :-)
Fight the Power Brother!

Amazing work as allways sir!
Oh, man, just what I need right now. Thank you! Awesome
Great to see you back! Thank you for the "new" mix!
Just saw this on my TH-cam feed, which I never look at. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THESE BACK!!!!!!😍
Man, so many shady places I traveled to than. Best times in my life. No phones, no laptops and we all got along and still found love. I wanna go back...and I was broke, in Boston. My apartment was 35 a week and shared a bathroom with 2 other apartments...lol
Love these, thank you. I thought I was knowledgeable on 80s alternative/obscure but your prior lists introduced me to tons of new stuff. Really happy you are posting these new ones now, thank you
Yes!!!! It's back!
Here goes. Welcome back.
Fantastic selection, thanks for posting.
Thanks for listening
Belleza absoluta,muchas gracias☺☺☺
welcome back-i missed you.
Hey, thanks!
Holy shit, what a beautiful surprise! \o/
Hey glad to see you’re around as well. There should be a few songs you might not know but after all it’s called a revival for a reason 😎🔥
Excellent 👌👌👌
I'm so sorry all that happened to you. The five-hour one and "New Dawn Never Faded" ones were my go-to playlists from this channel weekly for almost two years straight. Do you still have the track lists for those two videos?
Great Channel- I Sub/love. Can you put band names over these slides of photos to give context? Keep at it - all of you.
Yes!!!!!
Great to see you back on track. Tell me could you give us a list of the songs that were removed from these mixtapes?
No unfortunately it’s just a VERY long list
...excellent compilation
It’s a good one 😉
Amazing
You're back that's great ❤😮😊
Good to see you likewise Rafael 😎
@@80zforeverI always liked your TH-cam channel :)
Wow! Good to see you back my friend! In the time you were gone i uploaded some obscure songs myself mostly local bands i rediscovered with the help of the local radio.
Thanks will definitely check them out ✌️
@@80zforever they aren't 80s unfortunately but finding them was quite the adventure! The 3 local songs i posted i heard on the radio growing up but could never find them. I decided to search locally and ask around and was able to find them like decades after i heard them. Some pretty cool stories too.
"Pretty Lady" by Haven was sung by a guy who is now a well known local politican in my province.
With "Drive All Night" by Pilot, the lead singer (who is much older now), actually stopped by my house to give me a copy of his cd.
And perhaps the coolest story of them all, "Always You" by Mindset won a battle of the bands contest years ago and was played on a radio as a result. The lead singer himself didn't even have a copy and hadn't heard the song in 20 years! I wound up sending him a copy of his own song lol
Also "Office - Matricide" was a massive loss, although I have since bought the vinyl through Discogs so I have access to it 😅
I will put that gem back on the channel for sure!!
Best!!!!
Thanks for the upload. Are there any particular sources for these songs or its just stuff you've come across? I find deep dives so interesting, there's a lot of hidden gems out there I've come across by mere coincidence or tracing back influences of certain mainstream artists.
These are all sourced from vinyl records that were never released on any other format. The majority of them actually come from 7” singles. I call them one single wonders!
🔥🔥🔥
Yay!!!!
Hi, welcome back :D
...
...
...
What are the times for each song? :)
Added the times to the description ✌️
Great to see you're back! There were some gems on part 2 of Covid-days new wave songs list but I can't find the track list anywhere. Any chance you could help out?
I will gradually post non copyrighted works and will bring them back, albeit in a different line up as I didn’t have a song list
@@80zforever That’s absolutely fine. I was just hoping that you would have a track list for that particular video. I managed to figure out some of the playlists that were removed thanks to Wayback Machine but this one had a track list in the comments and I can’t get hold of them unfortunately.
@@zioom53Maybe I can help, I still have the playlist.
Should I just post it here?
I’d love to see a track list please!

AFTER 4 YEARS HE RETURNS?
It’s not that long for sure
The eighties were a decade with a rather well defined separation between mainstream music (the majority of which was not that interesting) and alternative music (the majority of which deserves a listen) . There are a lot of hidden gems to be discovered in the alternative side.
Tools you can trust, the snipers, einsturzende neubauten, coil, psychic tv, test dept, front 242,severed heads and so on would be good for others to hear me thinks 🤔
They are all more and less copyright protected and not very obscure. I don't post any protected songs and go with what that's not available commercially.
@@80zforever fair enough.
BAB ...sounds like a demo by THE CHAMELEONS
Do you have anything rare stuff from the band Oingo Boingo?
Hi there all their songs are copyrighted and won’t be on the channel regardless of obscurity 😎
@@80zforever I see. Could you possibly share names of some of the songs of theirs that you have?
I'm mostly interested in the unreleased studio tracks and demos
@@MrTeton actually a good amount of their unreleased tracks are on TH-cam already. To varying qualities of course.
@@ELEcomments I know but I'm just curious if he has anything that we havent heard yet (as theres alot of it) or higher quality versions of tracks we already have.
Track list?
Just added them
