I'll never forget Bob on Saturday Night Live singing this song. That was perfect evangelism in the music world. I began writing songs because of that performance.

They ask me how I feel
And if my love is real
And how I know I'll make it through
And they, they look at me and frown,
They'd like to drive me from this town,
    They don't want me around
    'Cause I believe in you
They show me to the door,
They say don't come back no more
'Cause I don't be like they'd like me to,
And I walk out on my own
    A thousand miles from home
    But I don't feel alone
    'Cause I believe in you
I believe in you even through the tears and the laughter,
I believe in you even though we be apart
I believe in you even on the morning after
Oh, when the dawn is nearing
Oh, when the night is disappearing
Oh, this feeling is still here in my heart
Don't let me drift too far,
    Keep me where you are
Where I will always be renewed
And that which you've given me today
Is worth more than I could pay
And no matter what they say
    I believe in you
    🎵🎶🎵🎶
I believe in you when winter turn to summer,
I believe in you when white turn to black,
I believe in you even though I be outnumbered
Oh, though the earth may shake me
Oh, though my friends forsake me
Oh, even that couldn't make me go back
Don't let me change my heart,
    Keep me set apart
From all the plans they do pursue
    And I, I don't mind the pain
    Don't mind the driving rain
    I know I will sustain
    'Cause I believe in you

For those who accuse Bob of admitting to selling his soul to the devil, I’ll say this. I did the right thing and found that original recording of that admission. All the other doctored versions that go out are a wicked lie. He said nothing of the kind. So let everything be established by three confirming witnesses, and don’t break the Commandment that says “don’t give false witness against your neighbor or brother. And for brothers and sisters in Messiah who have repeated an unfounded accusation, repent.

A new Gallup poll out on Friday shows that Americans’ belief in God has dropped to its lowest level since the poll began asking the question in 1944.

My mum and dad split up in 1981. In 1984 I was 8. It was just me and my dad, a very hard working and underpaid local journalist. He couldn’t work and stay on top of the household chores aswell, so when I got home from school I’d do the hoovering for him so it’d be all clean when he got home. he’d say: “Tel, it makes such a difference”.
Around that time Dylan got into my heart and soul. In particular, Slow Train Coming, and in particular, I Believe in You. I can remember pulling the record out of the sleeve, putting it on the turntable, brushing the needle with my middle finger and planting it straight onto the third groove along Side One, make sure it’s side one. This particular time I’d finished the hoovering and I believe in you was playing. The line: “and I, I walk out on my own, a thousand miles from home, but I don’t feel alone” just wiped me out and reduced me to tears. Then I heard my dads’ key opening the front door. He saw that clean floors, me crying, and the song playing. He didn’t need to ask what was wrong.

I first heard this song performed by fellow Irish gal, Sinead O’Connor! It was not too long after becoming a true believing Christian! I immediately connected the words to my belief in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour ! Then I found out that Bob Dylan actually wrote this song when he was converted and that was the icing on the cake for me!! I absolutely love Sinead O’Connor’s rendition of this song. Perhaps because I can relate to many of her adverse childhood experiences, as well as her painful experiences that she lived through her adult life. She may be gone but her precious voice will be heard for many many generations to come. May she rest peacefully ☘️❤️🌻

I heard he got booed by many of his fans during this touring period of this album. Figures, I guess. Kudos to Bob for singing it live, anyway!

    Bob Dylan
They ask me how I feel
And if my love is real
And how I know I'll make it through.
And they, they look at me and frown,
They'd like to drive me from this town,
    They don't want me around
    'Cause I believe in you.
They show me to the door,
They say don't come back no more
'Cause I don't be like they'd like me to,
And I walk out on my own
    A thousand miles from home
    But I don't feel alone
    'Cause I believe in you.
I believe in you even through the tears and the laughter,
I believe in you even though we be apart.
I believe in you even on the morning after.
Oh, when the dawn is nearing
Oh, when the night is disappearing
Oh, this feeling is still here in my heart.
Don't let me drift too far,
    Keep me where you are
Where I will always be renewed.
And that which you've given me today
Is worth more than I could pay
And no matter what they say
    I believe in you.
I believe in you when winter turn to summer,
I believe in you when white turn to black,
I believe in you even though I be outnumbered.
Oh, though the earth may shake me
Oh, though my friends forsake me
Oh, even that couldn't make me go back.
Don't let me change my heart,
    Keep me set apart
From all the plans they do pursue.
    And I, I don't mind the pain
    Don't mind the driving rain
    I know I will sustain
    'Cause I believe in you.

This song is so sweetly romantic.
I have always believed in Bob, nok matter what. I always knew he was coming from a place far beyond our reach -. and cuz of that - I've always payed close attention to all he does and doesn't do !

That's so sweet of you. Too believe in any woman you have to be great in your self esteem. I pray if that's any good for you. On my phone they keep on sending me images of men I don't want to date unlike you. You understand with me it's a lost curse.
