This makes so much sense now. I got a really high score the first time I took this practice test a while back and was confused when my pacing and score dropped the level it did this time around. Thank you for the explanation!
I don’t know that the 4 additional questions per test make a big difference on the overall difficulty of those practice test. But some students have said that these tests are more realistic now. But as individual questions, yes, the real SAT will definitely have questions that are similar. But even the hard modules will be a mixture of easy-medium-hard questions. I think the main difference is that these early tests were a bit too Desmos-heavy, and the CB has figured that out and made Desmos less useful. That said, it’s still really useful!
What happens when we get one of the experimental questions right? Does it just not count for our score even though we have spent time on it that could have been used for questions that do count for our score?
Correct. The experimental questions do not count at all. And you never know which ones are experimental on the test, so there’s nothing you can do. That said, if you spend a lot of time on one question, you might be working on an experimental question that doesn’t count. No matter which module you’re in, always keep moving. Don’t let one question suck up tons of time unless you’ve already answered everything else.
@@SetteleTutoring are there always 2 experimental questions in hard reading and 2 in math and what if we make them correct will it increase our score I mean we did right in the experimental but wrong in another question.
@@karbor8148 Yes, there are 2 experimentals in every module, not just the hard one. They will not affect your score in any way, good or bad. But you’ll never know which questions don’t count, so there’s no point in worrying about it. Just do the best you can on as many questions as possible, and don’t let one question slow you down because it might not even matter.

Yeah, it’s crazy to me that just 2 questions can make a difference. I still don’t think a question like this would normally be #8, though.
Wait so the harder questions are ALWAYS towards the end?
Yes! This is a very important feature of the test. It helps you know where to worry about trap answers too.
Do you think that all the new questions are the best indicator of question difficulty in both sections even compared to practice tests 6

cannot we say in d like 48(2&^1/5*x) because we can multiply 1/3 and 1/2.
Don’t do more algebra than necessary. Much easier to let the 3 knockout the 1/3. Especially since 1/3 times 1/2 is 1/6, not 1/5.
