      Considering that the beastie boys were put on by Rick Rubin, I think they had a much different journey than third bass. Never mind hip-hop, the beastie boys were the biggest influence in all of the music, as far as hip-hop goes, MC Serch biggest influence was helping to produce Nas someone who probably is as big a figure in hip-hop, than third bass and the beastie boys put together.

      Beastie Boys are influential, but so are 3rd Bass. I wish they would've had a longer career as a group, but they were both originally solo artists who were put together to work as a group. They both seem a bit egotistical, so it was kinda doomed from the start. Beasties on the other hand, grew up together as we all know

    • @jasonnn2284
      @jasonnn2284 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@laramiejames7895 I think if anything was off base about Serch's Nas stories, he would have either said something in an interview or Serch would have correct himself. Snoop told a Tupac story with Nas involved for a couple years and then finally Nas came out and corrected him on some things. He would have no problem with saying Serch is wrong about something.

    Y’all need MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc, Young MC and other artists from the Golden Era that helped spread Hip-Hop to the mainstream. Hate it or love it, their contributions to the culture should no longer be ignored... and to be honest, I felt it had a lot more to do with them artists I named NOT being from the East Coast more than anything. We had Kid N Play, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Heavy D, Salt N Pepa, etc have major commercial success in that era, and they NEVER received the same criticism as the artists I mentioned up top. MC Serch still on that denial bullshit. If the roles were in reverse, would Serch not feel some kind of way about a TOTAL STRANGER taking stabs at HIS mother in front of the entire planet? Let's be honest. Hammer didn't diss Run-DMC. And even if he did, what does that have to do with Serch? Run-DMC can deal for Run-DMC. Hammer's jab was on some Hip Hop shit. Pure competitiveness. He didn't make it personal talking about anybody's mother. Also, Def Jam had worldwide distribution at that point. 3rd Bass's record was heard all across the globe. People were already starting to take jabs at Hammer about the dancing and big pants. Then you (or rather Pete Nice) says something about Hammer's mother and he's just supposed to take it as some "Hip Hop" fun? Wrong. You are not lyricists first. You are PEOPLE first. You can't hide behind an arbitrary label you put on yourself to seek some kind of justification or immunity from REAL WORLD CONSEQUENCES when it's convenient.
    So far, from the looks of it, whatever therapy Serch claims to be receiving is a fail. 50-something year old man and still cannot own up to having simply fucked up. He should be grateful the hit was called off because if he didn't have backing by a major label, he wouldn't even be in that seat talking right now. And NO, it was not a dope line. It was immature, amateurish and disrespectful, culture vulture. I'm not saying Hammer was right, if in fact he did put out a hit on 3rd Bass. But from the stand point of just being a man, what else would you expect when you disrespect someone's mother in front of the entire planet?

Ice cube wanted 3rd bass producer to do his first album he loved their production on their albums .. but he nevered showed up to the studio session .. that's when he ran into chuck d ..worked with public enemys producers ...... Yes he serch lied on Ed lover show talkin like he checked hammer on the radio but the actual altercation is on TH-cam somewhere I heard it .. hammer let him. Know he wasn't having it ... And hammer older brother had goons all through California ....hammer actually came up with solid Oakland gangsters ... Even too short and Suge knight said that.... That's how you know hammer was respected and wasn't no joke to be fucked with .. because nobody ever checked him for the alleged hit on serch life in new York ...
